Freddie Highmore (Spiderwick Chronicles) has been cast in the role of Astro Boy which is set to hit theatres in 2009.
Astro Boy is coming from Imagi Studios' as a CG-animated motion picture produced by Maryann Garger and with David Bowers as director.
Highmore is joining the cast lending his voice to the iconic character and those in charge couldn't be more pleased.
Maryann Garger said: "I am very thrilled that Freddie has accepted this role. He is one of the most talented and acclaimed young actors today, and absolutely ideal to portray the iconic Astro Boy."
