Josh Brolin Discusses Missing Out On The Role Of BATMAN To Ben Affleck
Josh Brolin is currently menacing the MCU as the Mad Titan, Thanos, but at one time he was in the running to play the Caped Crusader in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. In an interview with MTV he reveals whether or not he has any regrets about losing the role to Ben Affleck...
In the buildup to Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder officially announcing their pick for a new Dark Knight for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, quite a few actors were mentioned in connection with the role - but only 2 were every confirmed to be serious contenders: Ben Affleck, and Josh Brolin. Obviously one of them landed the part, and the other did not.
Brolin revealed that he was indeed in the running a couple of years ago, and very nearly nabbed it, but never really discussed how he felt about missing the opportunity to put his own stamp on such an iconic character. While chatting to MTV at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Sicario actor admits that he'd like to be more competitive about these things, but doesn't feel any jealousy at all. He also says he's "beyond curious" to see what Affleck does under the cape 'n cowl next year.
“I don’t have that thing, I wish I did. It would just be more interesting and more competitive, damn him. As much as you guys want to be pissed off, be pissed off, it’s all good. Start a f–king riot. I’m really curious [to see] what he does. Beyond curious.”
As are we all! Do you guys think Brolin would have made a good Batman? Would you have preferred if he got the part over Affleck? Sound off below.
