THE SHADOW FANCAST BY DDD

“Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!”
Leee@ suggested I come up with a cast for THE SHADOW to
go along with my DOC SAVAGE and THE AVENGER fancasts!

Here’s the third and last in my pulp hero Fancast series.

THE SHADOW/LAMONT CRANSTON - ODED FEHR

MARGO LANE - ELISHA CUTHBERT

MOSES “MOE” SHREVNITZ - JOHN TURTURO
Moe is a taxi driver and THE SHADOW'S driver!

DET. JOE CARDONA - ADRIAN PASDAR
THE SHADOW'S police contact and friend.

HARRY VINCENT - WENTWORTH MILLER
The Shadow rescued Harry from jumping off a bridge and committing suicide and set him up in a hotel as one of his agents. Harry was very suave and a great
people person. He became The SHADOW’S main man.

Harry's introduction set the mood for future entrances of agents in the magazine. He was a young person in trouble with seemingly insurmountable obstacles being given a new life by The Shadow.

CLYDE BURKE - BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN
Young reporter who worked for a tabloid called The Classic so he had fewer
restraints than a regular newspaper had, giving him more freedom to help THE SHADOW. Burke's duties for THE SHADOW were investigative, not physical, but if needed, he would aid in battle. He conversed regularly with Detective Joe Cardona.

BURBANK – A.J. BUCKLEY
Dispatch and surveillance, a young electronics wiz who kept all agents connected through his radio. He would also sneak in and bug whoever THE SHADOW needed him to. Burbank was very secretive and no one knew what he looked
like except THE SHADOW'S other agents.

CLIFF MARSLAND – THOMAS HADEN CHURCH
Big, tough, with chiseled features, Marsland roamed the underworld with the reputation of a killer and lone wolf. Only he and The Shadow knew this to be false.

Cliff was The Shadow's spy in the badlands. He traveled about criminal hangouts trying to pick up information on impending crime. Because of his reputation, he could usually join any gang that The Shadow wanted him to infiltrate. Cliff was good with his fists and a gun, and was useful in battles. Because his features were rugged but not hard, he could occasionally team with Vincent for honest work.

HAWKEYE - ROBERT KNEPPER
Small in frame, Hawkeye would go unnoticed if it were not for his wizened, prematurely old face and his keen, ever-shifting eyes. Once a top spy in the underworld, this man was reformed by criminologist Slade Farrow.

Hawkeye's main function was to secretly trail suspects. He was excellent at this job, only The Shadow was better. Hawkeye also gave The Shadow another agent, beside Marsland, who could roam the badlands of crime and report after on impending activity. The two sometimes teamed in joining a crime ring.

Hawkeye's real name was never given.

JERICHO DRUKE – HENRY SIMMONS
Jericho Druke was a powerfully built and tremendously strong black man who ran an employment agency in Harlem. He first came in contact with The Shadow when, as a doorman, he got involved in a gangland battle. The Shadow's intervention saved Jericho's life. At the same time, the battle showed Druke's courage and ability. Some time later Harry Vincent brought Druke into The Shadow's unit.

Jericho was of above-average intelligence and was not a stereotyped comic relief type. He seldom spoke but when he did it was normally, avoiding the dialects often seen in other pulp stories. Usually he entered when his strength was needed - carrying large objects, battling a number of thugs, or just one powerful foe. At other occasions he was used as the doorman of a hotel or some other menial job at a spot to gather information people might drop.

Thanx guys! The Shadow needs to also be
done in a dark Film Noir style not like
that brightly-lit piece of crap last time,
with Alec Baldwin!

It's a dark and dingy New York
mostly-at-night that Lamont Cranston,
as THE SHADOW, haunts!

DDD- I'll have to say that you have a great cast there but i'd chose someone else for Lamont. I think Ralph Fiennes would be perfect. Other than that, great great cast! Oh and BTW, The Shadow piece of crap is on my all time favorite CBM list with Condorman, Stalone's Judge Dredd and Robert Townsend's Meteorman ;P It's funny how i could love those film to death and still hate the shit out of the Bat-Shumacker films LOL.

great cast, i love it

Shaman@ I liked Meteor Man and Judge Dredd, myself!

But THE SHADOW must be a dark Film Noir like Humphrey
Bogart's Sam Spade! The first Shadow wasn't horribly
wrong but it was just too bright and lit-up to be
the real THE SHADOW! Penelope Anne Miller was perfect
as Margo Lane!

Shaman@ I thought of many actors with more hooked
Roman-like noses but they were all too old to do a
3 picture series. So I went with Oded 'cause he has
the hooked nose and he's only 39 which gives him
plenty of time to do the 3 film deal before he's
ancient. Ralph Fiennes doesn't have that much of a
Roman nose and he's way old.

My first choice was Mark Strong but he's 46 and by
the 3rd film he'd be way long in the tooth!

you gotta love the shadow.
For all of the movie's flaws Alec Baldwin was actually a pretty decent shadow.

DDD @ Yay man, kudos bro! ; )

I cant fault a single one and your SHADOW is spot on!!!

I really like MARK STRONG too!!

Thumbs up man!!!

Damn, im gone a day and how many fan fics lol?

SHAMAN @ No to Ralph as SHADOW ffs, these are amazing picks right here!!? If FIENNES got the part, all id see would be FINNES not LAMONT. He'd make a good villain though!
