Primetime television stars Nathan Fillion and Tim Daly, the reigning voices of Green Lantern and Superman, respectively, join an exciting group of actors reprising their famed cartoon roles in Justice League: Doom, an all-new entry in the popular series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies due in early 2012 from Warner Home Video.

Justice League: Doom finds Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg and Batman on their heels when a team of super villains discover and implement the Dark Knight’s “contingency plans” for stopping any rogue Justice League member. The story is inspired by Mark Waid’s much-heralded “JLA: Tower of Babel.”

superman should be the true leader not batman,he should be second in command.

Yuck.

The fact that Plastic Man from the original comic storyline was replaced with Cyborg simply so that they could use a "token black character" (since Green Lantern can no longer be John Stewart) is just retarded.

@Jordanstine,

I appreciate the effort to have diversity in the JL. Personally, I wish that there would be more of it instead of having 3 white guys, 1 white female, and a black. The Justice League is a representation of the world that it is in and I believe the world is a very diverse place.

Granted, I love Plastic Man and currently I am not a huge fan of Cyborg, but there are some kinks that need to be worked out in order to get the Justice League top notch to represent our generation.

Why is Cyborg there? -.- Flash should have been there instead and Cyborg shouldn't be in this movie int he first place! One of the few things that still piss me off about the New 52 is Cyborg in the Justice League. He's a teen titan!

@marvel72 I kinda agrre with what John Stewart saidand I posted above. Also, SUperman (at least DCU) never saw himself as a leader. Was always humble and all that...

@Superguy Superman cared too...

And, about Young Justice's Robin, refer to above, John Stewart talking about Bats and Supes. Robin sound just like Bats.

@ rbfn04

what john stewart says are valid points for leadership,but
i see it as when there in a time of trouble superman is at the front of the que leading them into battle.

Of course Batman would be the main character on the cover. -_-

Great artwork though.

@Jordanstine: I agree. Its annoying. I'm all for diversifying the comic book world, but not if it means changing the story or character persona. There are other ways to go about it.

People need to stop caring so much about race. Let the story be. Writers should just start creating new stories including non-white characters and everyone will be happy.

Batman is technically the leader, he was the one always giving out the plans.

Great find Paul.

@Dawnelldo yeah, of the trinity I believe DIana owuld be the best leader. Balancing warrior expertise with kindness.

@marvel72 I agree. But, leading the JLA, barking orders and all. I don't see that as his style...

Batman's not a leader. Any true Batman fan would know Batman's definitely not the Justice League leader. He's a tactician, he's suspicious, he's made these contingency plans because he trusts no one. Leaders have to trust their followers. Batman is a reluctant member of the League, who only fights along side them when he decides it's completely necessary. Given the first safe opportunity, he'd go back to working alone or with his own hand picked team (meaning Robin/Batgirl/Nightwing) in less than a heartbeat.

The only reason he's main on the cover is that this story is more focussed on him. He's the cause of this, he made the contingency plans, he's inadvertently put his teammates in danger. The reason they're reflected on that batarang is that they're against him. Otherwise, they'd be stood behind him, in support. They feel he's betrayed them, that he's let his distrustful nature get to the point that he could risk all of their safety.

Batman, to the JLA, is essentially what Wolverine was supposed to be to the X-Men. A loner, and someone who joined out of necessity, not due to wanting to be part of a team.
