Jeremy Irvine as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern
With the ability to overcome great fear and harness the power of will, test-pilot Hal Jordan was chosen to be the Green Lantern of Sector 2814 inheriting the ring of the dying alien Green Lantern, Abin Sur. Through sheer will power and determination, Hal has established an impressive record of heroism across the galaxy with the help of his fellow Green Lanterns as well as his peers in the JLA.
Reason for Casting:
Mostly known for starring in the Spielberg flick War Horse, which received positive reviews, Irvine is a growing star in Hollywood who, with the right director, could without a doubt be an amazing Hal Jordan.
Emilia Clarke as Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire
Carol used to be a pilot, but, after her father retired, she gave it up to run the family business (Ferris Air, a company in Coast City that makes aircraft). She hired her childhood friend, Hal Jordan, as a test pilot. Soon after Hal became a Green Lantern, Carol found herself possessed by a Star Sapphire gem. The gem gave her power, but also took over her mind to often very bad effect.
Reason for Casting:
Even though I don't watch Game of Thrones like the rest of the world, I have to say I find Emilia Clarke compelling as an actress on-screen even though I know nothing about the plot or what's going on in the episode I see Clarke as a really good actress and I would love to see what other roles she encounters after GOT. If she can play the Mother of Dragons (as she is called) then she can play Star Sapphire in my opinion.
Josh Lucas as the voice of Abin-Sur
Abin Sur is introduced as a Green Lantern whose spaceship crash lands on earth after running through a belt of "yellow radiation". With his dying breath he passes on his ring to test pilot Hal . Honored Fallen Lantern of Space Sector 2814; predecessor of Hal Jordan.
Reason for Casting:
Abin-Sur passing on the mantle of the Green Lantern to Hal Jordan before his death is a scene I feel could be easily handled by Josh Lucas seen in such films as J. Edgar, American Psycho and A Beautiful Mind. Lucas could without a doubt own the role and put great emotion into the scene in which we first see Hal Jordan first become the Green Lantern.
Kevin Grevioux as the voice of Kilowog
Kilowog is from the planet Bolovax Vik in sector 674 where he was a genetic scientist. When he was recruited into the Green Lantern Corps he was trained by Lantern instructor, Ermey. It was from Ermey that Kilowog learned the phrase "Poozer" for a "useless rookie", a phrase Kilowog would become famous for when he himself would train future Lanterns.
Reason for Casting:
Kevin is a great voice actor and has done some comic book work but he's not an obvious pick and he wouldn't be that guy that when you hear him your just like "Oh that's (insert famous deep voice actor here)". Looking at you Kevin Michael Richardson, Ron Perlman, etc....
David Caruso as the voice of Tomar Re
Tomar Re was working as a scientist on his homeworld Xudar, when he was approached by the Guardians Of The Universe who wanted him to become one of their Green Lanterns. Tomar became an important member of the Corps as he trained numerous recruits and served as a member of the honor guard. He was saddened that his good friend Abin Sur died and that Hal was his replacement.
Reason for Casting:
Caruso is a pretty bad actor but his voice is like butter and I think it would work perfectly for a character like Tomar Re who is skeptical of Hal's sudden transformation into a Green Lantern following his friend's death. Tomar will also be one of the eventual mentors to Hal after the defection of Sinestro.
Alan Rickman as the voice of The Guardians of the Universe
A race of immensely powerful immortals living on Oa, the planet at the center of the universe, who founded and run the Green Lantern Corps.Originally from the planet Maltus, the race that would become the Guardians was one of the first races of intelligent life in the universe. Evolving quickly, they developed a society devoted to knowledge and science, often involving themselves in experiments on other planets.
Reason for Casting:
Trying my hardest not to say "he's Alan Rickman" for this choice but he is and Rickman is an amazing actor who may or may not be most recognized for his vocal talents. Rickman would provide the Guardians with the voices necessary to differentiate them and also give them all personality.
Benedict Cumberbatch as Sinestro
One of the greatest Green Lanterns there ever was, Sinestro was corrupted by power and banned from the Green Lantern Corps by the Guardians of the Universe. Upon achieving his ultimate goal of exposing and bringing justice to the corruption of the Guardians, Sinestro has relegated himself to self-exile as penance for the many actions and sins he has committed over time in order to save anyone else from participating and therefore sharing in his guilt.
Reason for Casting:
It's an amazing choice albeit unoriginal.
Daniel Radcliffe as Kyle Rayner
Kyle Rayner was a struggling graphic artist in Los Angeles. Son to Mexican-American father Aaron and Irish mother Maura Rayner, Kyle's infant life was spent with his parents constantly on the run.Originally thought to be chosen by chance, Ganthet chose Kyle Rayner because he had the ability to harness the powers of the emotional spectrum.
Reason for Casting:
Radcliffe is a great up-and-comer that has had some trouble really finding his niche. Mostly due to poor direction, Radcliffe shines when put in a good film so I think he could really stand out playing Kyle Rayner, the inevitable White Lantern that wields all the colors of the emotional spectrum.
Lonnie "Common" Lynn Jr. as John Stewart
Formerly an architect, social activist, and U.S. Marine sniper, John Stewart was selected by the Guardians of the Universe to be one of the Green Lanterns for Sector 2814. His distinguished service in the Corps has resulted in a place among the Oan Honor Guard and the position of chief trainer for new Lantern recruits.
Reason for Casting:
Common is one of the few rare musicians who made a good transition from music to acting. Appearing in films like American Gangster, Wanted, Date Night and Now You See Me, Common has certainly proven he has the chops with his role on AMC's Hell on Wheels series. He would also be the most likely to do it considering he fits the physical description and he has yet to portray any other comic book roles.
Evan Rachel Wood as Boodikka
At three centuries of age, the warrior Boodikka of the planet Bellatrix was originally recruited by the sphere-like Chaselon of Barrio III to join the then-reconstituted Green Lantern Corps.Boodikka was part of a group of warrior women called the Bellatrix Bombers before becoming a Green Lantern.
Reason for Casting:
Evan Rachel Wood is on her way to the top with her performance in films such as The Ides of March, Across the Universe and Thirteen could definitely portray the warrior female of the Green Lantern Corps. working closely with Hal Jordan upon his induction into the Corps.
