SUPERGIRL Premiere Date Revealed

CBS Sets October 26th Premiere Date For Supergirl

CBS has announced its full Fall Line-up and has set Supergirl for a Monday,  October 26th release date. The DC Comics superhero drama will air from 8:30 - 9:30.  Glee star Melissa Benoist will lead the series as Kara Zor-El aka Kara Danvers.  True Blood's Mechad Brooks will play Jimmy Olsen.  Ally McBeal star Calista Flockhart will play Cat Grant.  Homeland's David Harewood will play Hank Henshaw (better known as Cyborg Superman to DC comics readers).  Chyler Leigh, of Grey's Anatomy fame will play Kara's adoptive sister, Alex Danvers.  Original Supergirl actress Helen Slater will have a recurring role as Supergirl's foster mother, Sylvia Danvers.  One time Superman Dean Cain will play Kara's adoptive father, Fred Danvers.  Iron Man's Faran Tahir plays "The Commander" while Jeremy Jordan play the show's version of Toyman.

Superhero producer extraordinaires Greg Berlanti and Alex Kreisberg (Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow) are guiding the series.  Joining them are Ali Adler and Sarah Schechter.

It might be okay with that date. The Ravens and Cardinals are playing on MNF and both those teams are shit.

as long as they don't pull any "urban myth" stuff.
She should be seen and loved by the city.
Leave that "fear of those with powers" stuff to the X-Men where it belongs.

Its going to get a big premiere and then drop off without the great lead in. Scorpion had similar issues when its lead in wasn't The Big Bang Theory.

I haven't seen it either. The 6 minute trailer was enough. It's not for me. Hopefully it succeeds though. It would be good for the genre to have another successful female led CBTV show. Time slot seems somewhat problematic, but I don't think Monday Night Football interferes too much with the target audience.

@MercwithMouth Haha same. I doubt I'll be interested in it much (though I'll probably at least give it a chance and watch the pilot), but that's alright. As long as it appeals to who its targeting, that's all that really matters!

I don't think having it on Monday nights will be much of an issue either, for obvious reasons haha.

They probably think the two shows won't compete for the same audience/viewers since they target different demographics. And for folks interested in both, they must think they'll find a way to watch both, be it DVR, onDemand or online.

I was surprised to she had the suit on for the small tweet , thought it just be the poster card but nope it was a nice little surprise. I still cannot understand why they put it on the same time slot as Gotham though......looks like I am gonna have to pick one..and Gotham will go out the window! also i have not seen the leaked ether...so we are OUT THERE!!
