The Avengers is an American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. In The Avengers, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.

Development of The Avengers began when Marvel Studios received a grant from Merrill Lynch in April 2005. After the success of the film Iron Man in May 2008, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of Scarlett Johansson in March 2009, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release. Whedon was brought on board in April 2010 and rewrote the screenplay that was originally written by Zak Penn. Production began in April 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before moving to Cleveland, Ohio in August 2011 and New York City in September 2011. The film was converted to 3D in post-production.

The Avengers was released in the United States on May 4, 2012 in 2D and 3D.

For me, its TDKR but both films were great.

Happy to have 2 very different CBMs with great quality.

Too bad, I can't say the same for TASM :(

Great interviews. Joss Whedon did a great job staying true to the origins of The Avengers, and how they became a team. Joss got every detail from the comics into the movie, and great job with casting. I rushed to the movie theaters to see The Avengers! Great movie, and I can't wait to get it on DVD/Blu-Ray.

the amazing spider-man looked really good from the trailers but sadly it didn't deliver,it had its moments but they weren't enough to save it.

I just watched it again. Wasn't as good as the first time I saw it. What made it good was the excitement of the theater. Now all the jokes are less funny cause there isn't a crowd to laugh with.
Maximus101
Maximus101 - 9/10/2012, 7:27 PM
@ghaleonausa cause a few of my buddies wanted to watch it so I brought it over and watched it with them. I like it just I get bored of every movie after multiple watches.

@willyburz lol it's definetly not the best cbm sorry bud but I'm not gonna start to argue with you tonight.

@ maximus101

so you're bored of the dark knight rises now because you've seen that multiple times.

also because you don't think the avengers is the best comic book movie of all time doesn't mean it isn't,people are entitled to think that if they so please.

Maximus101 - 9/10/2012, 8:05 PM
@marvel your right people are entitled to their own opinion and yes I am bored of TDKR after seeing it four times now.

I don't really watch any movie more than once, It gets predictable for me. But I watched Avengers about 4 times. I wasn't paying all that much attention the 3rd and 4th times, but it still held my interest more than most other films do. That is certainly something.
