SDCC '14: Fox Unveils Official Line-Up, But There's No Sign Of THE FANTASTIC FOUR

Has the rumour that the cast of The Fantastic Four are coming to this year's Comic-Con already been debunked? Well, unless Fox are planning on surprising us, the Marvel foursome aren't mentioned in their official press release. However, it does include Agent 47 and more...

20th Century Fox Comic-Con Presentation
4:20PM – 6:20PM in Hall H

LET’S BE COPS
Guests: Damon Wayans Jr, Rob Riggle and Keegan Michael-Key
Release: August 13, 2014
It’s the ultimate buddy cop movie except for one thing: they’re not cops. When two struggling pals dress as police officers for a costume party, they become neighborhood sensations. But when these newly-minted “heroes” get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line.

THE MAZE RUNNER
Guests: Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Writer James Dashner and Director Wes Ball
Release: September 19, 2014
When Thomas wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of other boys, he has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. Only by piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze can Thomas hope to uncover his true purpose and a way to escape. Based upon the best-selling novel by James Dashner.

THE BOOK OF LIFE
Guests: Channing Tatum, Ron Perlman, Christina Applegate, Writer/Director Jorge Gutierrez and Producer Guillermo del Toro
Release: October 17, 2014
THE BOOK OF LIFE, a vibrant fantasy-adventure, tells the legend of Manolo, a conflicted hero and dreamer who sets off on an epic quest through magical, mythical and wondrous worlds in order to rescue his one true love and defend his village.

KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE
Guests: Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Taron Egerton, Sophie Cookson, Sofia Boutella and Co-Creators Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons
Release: October 24, 2014
Based upon the acclaimed comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick Ass, X-Men First Class), Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.

HITMAN: AGENT 47
Guests: Zachary Quinto and Hannah Ware
Release: February 27, 2015
Based on the top-selling, award-winning videogame franchise, “Agent 47” is an all-new motion picture about an elite and genetically engineered assassin, known only by the last two digits – 47 – of a barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. His latest target is a young woman on the run from powerful and clandestine forces. The mission brings startling revelations about the lethal agent and his prey, hurtling them on a collision course with their pasts. And this time, his number may be up.

Twentieth Century Fox's panel will definitely have its moments then, but the lack of any sort of mention of The Fantastic Four is disappointing. Yes, they could bring the cast out at the end as a surprise, but with less than a year to go until the movie is released, would it not have been better to build up some hype around the movie before this year's San Diego Comic-Con? Fans are already sceptical about the Josh Trank helmed movie, so Fox need to change their minds before it's too late...what do you guys think? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts below.

I feel so incredibly disappointed.
They have to be keeping the big stuff secret. Have to be.

"The other studios are either trying to keep it all secret or are scared of Avengers: Age of Ultron."

I know you're a Marvel fan, but COME ON. Jesus.

I'm curious as to whether or not Marvel will announce the Phase 3 line-up. Some sources say they will, but it didn't they announce Phase 2 at SDCC 2012, after The Avengers?

Maybe they changed their minds at the last minute because of all the backlash.

Marvel has been to Comic-Con before. Other studios have been before. They're not scared. I think they're hiding. Keeping as much as they can a secret. Why, I don't know. We know these films are coming, some within the next year. But they are not afraid of Marvel.

Even if Fox and WB are keeping it a surprise, not scheduling/listing means that they barely have a slot. They're usually slipped in at the very end. So it'll be quick footage/announcements.
TheRationalNerd
TheRationalNerd - 7/10/2014, 6:41 PM
Lol, so let me get this straight?

-No a panel for Warner Bros (Batman vs. Superman/Justice League)
-No panel for Fox (Fantastic Four)

You guys ever think that IF the panels aren't there it's because I dunno...the films are still filming within their locations?!

Age of Ultron has been shooting for how long? So of course they have room to share footage and kick back a bit. BvS and FF have all just recently started heavy filming. Whether they show up or not I'd still be surprised. I mean we didn't know about the Justice League/BvS announcement until the day of comic con so perhaps there are a few surprises...

MrBlackJack - 7/10/2014, 6:45 PM
Jeez, this year was suppose to be "the" comiccon. The only two things have coming is AOU footage and a Q&A, both of which are great but... [frick].

Marvel will most def have a Phase 3 announcement at the Con. I can assure you that! lol

-Ant-Man (2015)
-Captain America 3 (2016)
-Doctor Strange (2016)
-Thor 3 (2017)
-Black Panther (2017) *For Odin's sake*
-Avengers Infinity Gauntlet (2018)

Is what I'm guessing...

Emjeed
Emjeed - 7/10/2014, 7:04 PM
Lol. . Everyone seems to forget that WB/DC have a tendency to drop the mic at the very end. Last year there was the Avengers teaser with the title reveal and all. We were all excited about it until Snyder dropped an untitled bvs and a quickly put together logo and they broke the Internet. Marvel plays checkers. Which is fantastic cos all is in the open. But chess is where it's at.
Mrcool210
Mrcool210 - 7/10/2014, 7:04 PM
I mean Zack snyder even said they have filmed scenes with Affleck and Cavill together, Perfect thing to show at comic con, especially if they are in their suits. COME ON THINK!!!!

MrBlackJack - 7/10/2014, 7:06 PM
I'm sure we'll see stuff from Fox and WB, but it'll probably be 5 or mins worth of them talking and that's it. Maybe Snyder will run on up stage, show a pic or two, at least say they're filming JL and BvS back-to-back or will say something about JL, then bolt out the door.
LordOfTheZegaRealm
LordOfTheZegaRealm - 7/10/2014, 7:07 PM
I hope this means the script was burned, and they're moving on to other things.
