There has to be a real artist out there to draw this stuff. at least a person who can draw Archie quality work. This looks like some 13 year old's art submission.
This guy tried to steal (Rob Liefeld) poses John Romita and Gil Kane also.

People need to educate themselves on comic book art. The ignorance is not a good look.

Howard the Duck is my favorite character in the Marvel Universe.

Howard the Duck needs to get his own movie in the MCU so he can join The Avengers.

Howard would be saying more than "Jerk" if this was rated M. They shoulda made a Howard MAX series. Okay it probably wouldn't real in enough sales but still, he could really say whatever he wanted in a MAX series.

Also, no one ever bothered to fix the dyslexic spelling of DUCK on Howard's coffee mug on the first cover. Seriously. DCUK???

This truly is some of the shittiest art I've seen marvel publish. And that is saying a lot considering how much garbage they put out nowadays. Such a shame too, I would have loved to put this on my pull list

Oh man, don't even get me started on that. Check out any comic preview here, you're going to find goldmine after goldmine of idiotic comments.

The way the art is colored seems to be suited for work with more marks, since the art is more basic they needed to use a fancier kind of color work to make the line art pop. Since they went with a basic color work for the basic lines it makes the work look bland. In reality the line art isn't the problem, it's that line work mixed with that color work. Normally this would be talked about but they might have been rushing things. Since they have like fifteen alternate covers though, it seems confusing. But it might be going along with the 'basic detective' story type thing. I dunno, the art and the color doesn't mix. Needs more marks and more contrast to compliment it really.

I would suggest they do more gradient shade work for this story.

Flats work here because of the line art is active and busy.

The line art here is more basic but the colorist is the one that makes the work pop. I just think the team combo didn't work out exactly. Or I dunno.....

@GirlRage

Lol Thanks for that
I was just starting an essay on how lazy this art is but then I saw what you wrote and I just gave up.

Marvel needs to step it up, this isn't a first, this seems to be the with most of the comics they publish.

I'd recommend having a look over at Squirrel Girl and Ms. Marvel.
Not only is the art lazily madin those but there's no kinetic energy.

SoFresh and GirlRage are correct. And I'll just add it looks as though Marvel threw a team together real quick to try to cash in on Howard hype after GOTG movie. But they are really late to the table on that.

Marvel needs a WiseCracker Squad made up of all the characters they own with the smartest mouths:

Howard the Duck
Spiderman
Deadpool
Bullseye
Hawkeye
Jubilee

.
.
.
......other suggestions?

So they gave Howard a new series just because of a small cameo in a movie while Richard Rider, Darkhawk and Quasar are still in Comic Limbo.

[frick] you Alonso and Brevoort.

Yeah, I'd like to blame the Artists but I know they have to listen to the editors and this book has three. So I don't know who is to blame but...... Assistant Editor Jon Moisen, Editor Wil Moss or Editor in Chief Axel Alonso all had to look over every page and say "This is okay". Editors have the final say, so they had to say to the color artist Rico Renzi that this is best for the story. But we all know it's an eye sore so.....yeah.

This cover has the same line art quality as the interiors of the issue. I blame the editors three. If you notice those same three editors on those other crappy issues you'll find the source of the prob.
