"I'm excited for viewers at home to check out Star Trek Into Darkness on Blu-ray and DVD," said J.J. Abrams. "They did a great job and I'm thrilled with how everything looks and sounds. We also have some really fun behind-the-scenes special features that we shot on the Red and created entirely in-house at Bad Robot. They really look amazing and unlike anything I've seen on DVD or Blu-ray before." Abrams added "I hope fans enjoy seeing the process that went into making the movie and the truly amazing work of our most spectacular cast and crew."

The Star Trek Into Darkness Blu-ray/DVD and Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD combo packs with UltraViolet™ are bursting with behind-the-scenes material detailing how the filmmakers delivered a rousing epic filled with both spectacle and soul. For the first time, the special features included in the combo packs were produced entirely by Abrams'
Bad Robot Productions and captured in spectacular high quality on Red Epic cameras for a uniquely intimate perspective of the filmmakers' process.

Written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof, the film follows the crew of the Enterprise as a shocking act of terror on Earth sends them on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice. STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS features an outstanding ensemble cast including John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Peter Weller and Anton Yelchin.

Blu-ray Special features:

- Feature film in high definition
- Creating the Red Planet – Experience the creation of a never-before-seen alien world, as featured in the action-packed opening sequence of the film.
- Attack on Starfleet – Go behind the scenes with the cast and filmmakers and witness the creation of the shocking attack on Starfleet Headquarters.
- The Klingon Home World – Discover the stunning world of Kronos, and see how the filmmakers reinvented the Klingons for a new generation.

- Ship to Ship – An in-depth and thrilling look at the filming of the iconic space jump sequence, which both defied the laws of physics and pushed the limits of visual effects.
- Brawl by the Bay – Sit in with Zachary Quinto and Benedict Cumberbatch as they revisit their intense preparation for the film’s breathtaking climax.
- Continuing the Mission – An inspiring look at the partnership between the film’s crew and the organization that assists returning veterans to find meaningful ways to contribute on the home front.

Best movies of the summer:
1) STID - This film had great characters (with actual character ARCS), an amazing villain, some great action that's NOT overdosed, and some great performances (especially Benedict Cumberbatch)
2) Pacific Rim - This film was flawed, silly, and I loved every single minute of it
3) The Conjuring - One of the scariest films in the past five years.
4) This is The End - The best comedy of 2013, much better than shit like We're the Millers and Grown Ups 2
5) Monsters University - An ok first act, but an amazing last act, and a pretty great second half make this Pixar's best film since Toy Story 3
Still haven't seen: You're Next, The World's End, and Elysium
marvel72 - 8/30/2013, 12:52 PM
pacific rim & elysium were the two best movies of the summer.

TyrantBoss - 8/30/2013, 12:57 PM
I would rather have a copy of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan on Blu-Ray.

Way better version of the same movie.
NightWingNut - 8/30/2013, 12:57 PM
Did people really not like this one? I thought it was pretty damn awesome! Oh well, to each his own.

ManDeth - 8/30/2013, 1:09 PM
If the 'WE' women's TV network made a women version of 'Wrath Of Khan' it would be 'Into Darkness'.
Xandera - 8/30/2013, 1:12 PM
ST:ID was awesome!!! Fingers crossed!

@Jollem - MOS was a great movie, but I dunno about the best ever...

@Xandera - you're right. i'm torn between man of steel and tmnt 3. elias koteas plays two roles. can't beat that

@Thegeekygurl - thanky, sir :)
ndwwrestler2 - 8/30/2013, 1:51 PM
ST:ID is not the new Wrath of Khan. It's more Space Seed than it is Wrath of Khan.
GodzillaKart - 8/30/2013, 2:12 PM
STID has a great cast and some fun action...and the absolute worst writing I've seen in a movie since Prometheus. They were both worked on by Damon Lindelof. Coincidence?

Abrams really did achieve the impossible though. I didn't know it was possible to turn the fantastic Cumberbatch into a bad over-actor. The way he delivers the "I am Khan" line is laughable.

The final 30 minutes of the movie is one of the worst things ever filmed.

I hope whoever takes the franchise over can put the talented actors to better use. I hope Damon Lindelof does the right thing and never approaches a keyboard again.
GodzillaKart - 8/30/2013, 2:13 PM
@TyrantBoss:Agreed. Wraith of Khan is a far better movie.
GirlyGeek - 8/30/2013, 3:12 PM
done, done and done! i can't wait to win this!

Is this open to all regions? I know you are overseas from me and all.

CptShellhead - 8/30/2013, 6:08 PM
Love this flick, Sherlock vs. Tremor Brother
Ceejay - 8/31/2013, 2:35 AM
I'd rather win a box full of my own steamy shit rather than sit through the most blatantly stupid movie of the year. It was written for the brainless, people who actually think cold fusion freezes stuff.
teressamiller - 9/4/2013, 6:09 AM
It wasn't the best, but not the worst Trek movie. Still, would love to have it for my collection
