2015 is an extremely crowded year for movies and one of two things is sure to happen; it will be the best 12 months of all-time at the box office or there will be A LOT of flops. However, if there are three releases you can pretty much guarantee will be a massive success, it's The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Batman/Superman and Star Wars Episode VII. At this point, we know very little about any of them. Plot details are scarce and only a handful of casting decisions have been made. What we do know is that three brilliant filmmakers are attached to these projects; Joss Whedon, Zack Snyder and J.J. Abrams. So, while they may still be a while away as of yet, we'd like to know which of these movies you think will be the most financially successful. After all, if you're correct, that will definitely give you bragging rights on this site a couple of years from now...

Smurfs 3

The fanboys said MoS would hit a billion. They don't know what they're talking about. This is pointless.
MarkV - 9/3/2013, 11:14 AM
This is a tough one. I think the novelty of batman and superman on screen together will make for a huge opening weekend. Will it have legs? I like Man of Steel, but Snyder has trouble with the critics and some of the general audience.
NightmareB4 - 9/3/2013, 11:16 AM
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Pollwise, Superman/Batman will win. Reality wise, Avengers 2 will take the cake that year.

I know, I know, I'll get letters.
l0rdleg0las - 9/3/2013, 11:17 AM
@TheGreatChum

dude, Fantastic Four and Ant-Man won't come anywhere near the box office of the 3 movies listed in the poll. that year is going to come down to DC vs Marvel. if the box office draw of Superman and Batman beats Avengers 2, which will most likely out-earn the original Avengers movie, than it basically guarantees that the JL movie will wind up as the highest grossing movie ever.
McNyagano - 9/3/2013, 11:18 AM
@MarkV

Good point ;)

1. The Avengers: Age Of Ultron is the sequel to a commercially successful, highly critically praised, $1.5 billion dollar movie that's arguably regarded as the best CBM of all time.

2. Man Of Steel 2 aka Superman/Batman is the sequel to a critically panned, moderately BO successful movie based on the most famous superhero of all time.

Yeah, number 1 ;-) is gonna make the most money
MrBadTouch - 9/3/2013, 11:18 AM
man star wars has a bigger following. i think it'll top em. im gonna watch the hell outta all those movies though.
thewonderer - 9/3/2013, 11:19 AM
Joss Whedon and Zack Snyder are not genius filmmakers.

To be a genius filmmaker, you should have at least one original film not based on anything and you know....be able to make good films
thewonderer - 9/3/2013, 11:19 AM
I think Star Wars will top Avengers

The MCU is at an all time high. The GA loved Iron Man 3, my vote goes to the Avengers.
OdinsBeard - 9/3/2013, 11:22 AM
wow such a great box office battle. you've got the ultimate sequel's sequel in A2. A never before seen, real life team-up between the two biggest heroes of all time in BvS, and the kick-off to a brand new series in the franchise that started summer blockbusters with eVII.

It will truly be a summer "unlike any other" and it will take the combined might of the avengers to topple these beasts of movies!
magnusinthebox - 9/3/2013, 11:22 AM
Last year, this polls made Man of Steel the most succesful movie to be released in 2013 over Iron Man 3. Guess it didn't happen that way. Wouldn't be surprised if SupesVSBatFleck wins this poll. I say it's gonna be between A:AOU and SWVII
OdinsBeard - 9/3/2013, 11:23 AM
had to vote avengers. they're the hot ticket right now and have 3 more movies worth of momentum to build from.
Ineedrevelation - 9/3/2013, 11:23 AM
Batman/Superman should make way more money...

but considering the last two films were complete shit from both parties, it's not likely.

Shit films.

Serenity, an original idea from Whedon, didn't make alot of money at the box office but it received high critical reception.
knocturnalzen10 - 9/3/2013, 11:26 AM
i hate to say the avenger will win hands down but i think it's great for comics all together
KarlRobinofEarth2 - 9/3/2013, 11:27 AM
Thats a tough call. I didn't think there would be any challenge to the Avengers sequel after seeing the slow drip of shoddy info about a 'Justice League' movie making it seem like it wouldn't solidly get off the ground. A Superman/Batman flick if done well could easily match it at the box office. As for Star Wars, its got franchise strength AND DON'T FORGET, EACH OF THE DOUBTERS WILL SEE IT ANYWAY because its friggin Star Wars and we're all hoping deep down to see it go well. One good trailer and I'd say its a dead heat.
Greengo - 9/3/2013, 11:27 AM
I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO [frick]ING IDEA.
Shara184 - 9/3/2013, 11:27 AM
AS much as I like DC, Supes Bats will make the least between the three here. Star Wars wins, actually Disney wins 2015.... Cumberbatch for Thrawn
McNyagano - 9/3/2013, 11:27 AM
@LEVITIKUZ

So I'm an idiot for not thinking that the Bats vs Supes Movie will make more than A:AOU and SW:VII???? o_O

thewonderer - 9/3/2013, 11:28 AM
Sage, Serenity is based on Firefly.

Yes, he created it for TV but what I'm saying is taking an original idea and translating it completely on film (I.E. having to establish characters, plots, etc. in that film alone without any assistance from prior material)
TokuPrime - 9/3/2013, 11:28 AM
Avatar 2

others in contention.

Transformers 5
world warcraft the movie
roland emmerich independence day 2
pirates of the caribbean 5

Which Of These Movies Do You Think Will Make The Most Money In 2015?

The Avengers: Age of Ultron
Batman/Superman
Star Wars Episode VII

Tough call.
All will likely be very successful.

I guess we'll find out in...two years?

@MartianAbominationClone

I gotta agree with you here man, like Sage said "2. Man Of Steel 2 aka Superman/Batman is the sequel to a critically panned, moderately BO successful movie based on the most famous superhero of all time." and The fact that Snyder is not a fan-favourite among critics and the general audience. We'll see.
jimoakley666 - 9/3/2013, 11:30 AM
Probably Star Wars. But the Avengers will be the better movie and the one I'd rather see.
marantaz - 9/3/2013, 11:34 AM
Ok I'll play. I know its pointless, but I'll do my part to generate revenue.

2015 Box Office predictions:

#1 overall - Star Wars.
#2 Avengers.

Reviews will play a role in this. SuperBats could easily take 2nd if critics praise Afflack AND the story is tight.

The Avengers will rely on Marvels ability to maintain its quality in the films it presents between now and then, and GotG will be just as important to it as Thor and Caps sequels.

Star Wars could fall below #1 with bad reviews, but I think that's unlikely. Everyone wants to see Lucas' grand illusion completed, and faith is blind. It took years for most to admit I-III sucked overall.
thewonderer - 9/3/2013, 11:35 AM
LMAO at Avengers will be a better movie.

Newsflash. The Star Wars Original Trilogy shits all over Avengers. If JJ can capture even 1/10th of that trilogy, Avengers won't come near.

Let's see if Whedon even bothers writing characters other than Iron Man for Avengers 2
knocturnalzen10 - 9/3/2013, 11:35 AM
this article seems to just start a flame war IMO ............. smh
you would want both to be very sucessful, one would think so the QT of the movie will continue
charlie2094 - 9/3/2013, 11:35 AM
Star Wars has over 30 years of fans and an incredibly huge following. It has fans of the original trilogy, of the prequels, of those introduced between and after, of people being introduced to it for the first time...that'll be huge. Episode 4 is the third biggest film of all time when adjusted, and Episode 1 even made a billion and that was a prequel (never tend to do as well as sequels). Episode VII is easily the "biggest deal" in the year, being a sequel to the original trilogy.

Don't think Avengers 2 will do as big as the first, I mean, that did so well because it had never been done before. Like Avatar 2, the first one was something never seen before, hard to imagine the sequel reaching that heights, but who knows.

Even Batman/Superman...Man of Steel made $700 Million, add in Batman who's had two $1 Billion solo films + bringing two iconic characters together...think that'll surprise. Those two characters alone are bigger than the Avengers, think it will surprise some

They're all going to do $1 Billion easily though, doesn't matter who's biggest when they all win
McNyagano - 9/3/2013, 11:36 AM
@IamnotYou

No need to bash MOS 2 bro, the movie isn't even out yet. So chill and stop jumping to conclusions. jeez -_-
scootaloo - 9/3/2013, 11:36 AM
Do people really think that a movie with Batman and Superman in the title won't be the highest grossing film of all time?
SpectacularJoShFest - 9/3/2013, 11:38 AM
I wouldn't rush into this kind of shit...although, I did vote for Age of Ultron.
Batman/Superman has to sell itself through the trailers....general audiences will still think Bale was replaced by Affleck in Nolan's Universe...I loved Man of Steel...but it IS a flawed movie and the "sequel" already has one flaw...not enough time for character development...kind of what happened in MOS.

The better movie? I'd say Avengers...but only because MARVEL is already playing its cards properly. DC hasn't figured their shit out yet...and I really hope they do...but playing a safe-card like Batman and Superman in the same movie doesn't scream originality at all. A Flash movie would have been a lot better.
McNyagano - 9/3/2013, 11:39 AM
@thewonderer

What's your problem dude seriously?? If you don't like Iron man, we get it jeez but you haven't given any valid reasons why you hate the character -_-
TheOneAboveAll - 9/3/2013, 11:39 AM
My three cents are that each of the three movies listed above will exceed over $700 million.
Shara184 - 9/3/2013, 11:42 AM
I bet Intruder, I mean Iamnotyou fantasizes that he runs Marvel and jerks off to it. You're such a loser guy, grow up....
