Marvel Studios Producer Hints At CAPTAIN MARVEL Movie But Says "It's Hard"
Marvel Studios executive producer and Agent Carter director Louis D'Esposito shares his thoughts on the possibility of a superhero movie with a female lead, but describes it as a challenge due to their already busy upcoming slate and two films a year plan. Hit the jump for details!
The idea of a superhero movie with a lead female character is obviously something which has been discussed at Marvel as director and producer Louis D'Esposito has once again spoken out about the possibility of a character like Captain Marvel getting her own big screen outing. "There's obviously a drumbeat that is banging louder and louder that we want a female lead superhero. We have strong female characters in our films from Black Widow to Pepper Potts to Peggy Carter and you never know. Maybe there's an offshoot film with one of them. Or Captain Marvel, you know?" However, it sounds as if the studio already know which movies will be filling their 2016 slots and Captain Marvel won't be one of them! They also don't seem particularly keen on adding third film to their two a year routine. "It's hard because we have a small group at Marvel. We do two films a year. To get those two films done and to do them right takes a lot of work and manpower. And female-power, obviously. To add a third film and to just put it in the slate right now is difficult. We have these next three, four, five films coming out and that's what we're really concentrating on." What do you guys think? Sound off below!
