De Niro And Law NOT Coming To Asgard

It sounded too good to be true, and it turns out it is.
When Matthias Schweighöfer announced he was trying out for "Thor," he said that Law and De Niro had already been cast. It sounded cool when Jude Law was up for a role, but it sure sounded weird when Robert De Niro was thrown in the mix. And then people started to speculate whether it was true.

It turns out that Schweighöfer was either mistaken or just flat out lying when he said this because representatives for both actors have informed us that it was completely false.

But maybe it's the reps that are lying. To keep down a possible surprise. That's unlikely because nothing happens that way. We just have to wait and see.

Law's entry sounded possible, but De Niro's was just weird... I'm Glad the story wasn't true.

makes more sense now. De Niro, never really liked him. Extremely talented actor, but he always seemed like a total gweedo duchebag to me. I'll take Pachino over De Niro any day of the week.

I was thinking about casting De Niro in Thor when I was brushing my teeth this morning. I thought, "maybe he's Odin? a frost giant?" I can just see a New York Italian trash version of Odin going "you tawkin'a me?"

I could have definitely seen Law in some sort of role in the movie, but no way would DeNiro have fit in.

glad deniro isnt gonna be in this, especially as odin. it wulda been strange seein deniro as odin, it might have sounded like this:

"heh, wut u tawlkin bout thor? loki bothrin u again, heh? don't f*ck with me kid! get ur @ss outa my throan room be4 i blow yeh brains out! and loki, stop bein a dumbass, ya dumbass!"

dot get me wrong, deniro's a great actor, but i only like him better in mobster movies

I could never see him as Odin, never. It would look so out of place. I'm pulling for Stellan Skarsgard as Odin, does anyone know if Brian Blessed is OFFICIALLY Odin? I heard a bunch of stories, but now it seems he's not Odin after all?

De Niro is a great actor but he doesn´t fit in this movie. All though Law would have been great to see as Malekith The Accursed.

won't loose a second's night sleep!
would like to see the same faces for a while....... routh as superman..... robert as iron man......edward as the hulk.....bale as batman....and keep.....ryan as deadpool(and no green latern!)....... the same fantastic four cast(a little bitt darker movie.......the same x-men!! hell..... I even liked ben as daredevil!!

I THOUGHT that was a weird bit of news. But I don't care what anyone says, DeNiro would have made an awesome Odin. People tend to typecast him as a gangster, but they forget what a great character actor he is. (Rupert Pupkin, anyone?) The guy can do anything!

yeah deniro wouldnt fit in... plus, with these movies they have been trying to stay away from heavy hitters like deniro and just rely on the quality of the movie itself. wouldve been cool though.
