New Astro Boy Movie Poster and Pics

For those of you who don't know, the Astro Boy movie is still coming out in October. Here's the new poster & some stillshots from the movie.
MTV has premiered a new promo image for Summit Entertainment's Astro Boy, coming to theaters on October 23. Directed by David Bowers, the animated sci-fi adventure is voiced by Freddie Highmore, Nicolas Cage, Kristen Bell, Nathan Lane, Bill Nighy, Eugene Levy, Matt Lucus and Donald Sutherland.

gay. But I never liked this stuff to begin with. so disregard the 'gay' comment. the 1st poster looks like a shadow of emo-chucky for Child's Play 8.

Looks good so far. I'm glad they went with CGI. I don't think it would have worked as "live action."

I know nothing of this but being a father of two I sit through a lot animated films, some good, some coma inducing! This looks pretty good.

I cannot imagine anyone else voicing naked emo robot boy other than the brilliant Eugene Levy. Unless maybe Nicholas Cage does it - he could do his 'maniacal laugh' back from his Face/Off days.

I'm just stunned that the great and very wise swamp thing is saying I have three choices.......very mystical...

I always hated Astro Boy...it was just so damn retarded. I do think that the animation looks great and was a wise decision. Probably not going to see this movie...unless someone pays for me lol...maybe not even then

What exactly makes him emo? do you see a my chemical romance badge on his rocket boots that I'm missing? People had black spiky hair before fall out boy and eyeliner made it queer, find a better, more suitable insult or stop being a hater, because its obviously just for the sake of it.

This movie is seems to be living proof if u take an idea and put it in the right format it can work perfectly, if they try to make this movie serious and live action it would seem corny, but as a cgi it looks very interesting.

Betty and spanky... Imagi (the animation studio) is based in Hong Kong, and although it has some offices in the US, the company's home is Hong Kong. Rumors state that they founded it so there would be asian counterweight to the western animation studios, so although not exactly japanese they are asian.

Now that that's out of the way... this movie looks awesome and seems to capture the feel of Astroboy and Ozamu Tesuka perfectly, hopefully it'll do good at the box office since Imagi needs it (they have one foot in the bankrupt bin and the other one is not far behind).

This movie looks fantastic. I've seen a preview for it and the animation is flawless and vibrant. It's like your favorite candy, but for your eyes instead. I can't wait to see the whole thing, even if Courtney Love is voicing Astro Boy, I don't care. This is one of those movies you go see based solely on the visual experience.

Keven I don't know how your gessing your voice cast assignment but it's wrong. Yes Cage is voicing a character. No it isn't Astro.

Astro is being voiced by Freddie Highmore. If you want pre-req for Voice-Acting look no further than panteliman(sp) from Golden Compass. He voiced that little spirit creature the whole film.

PS. He's not emo. He's like a cross between Pinocchio, a boy scout, and super boy.

GOOD GIGGITTY GOD THIS IS AMAZING!!! IMAGI IS AND UNTIL PROVEN OTHER WISE WILL EVER BE THE BEST ANIMATION STUDIO EVER!!!! THEY KICKED TOTAL FREAKIN ASS WITH TMNT AND THEY ARE NAILING ASTROBOY PERFECTLY!!!! I WILL DEFINITLY BE THERE OPENING DAY!!!! HEEELLLLL YEAH!!!! lol. I guess I'll have to type in a more sarcastic tone. Yes - I truly thought that one of the old guys were voicing the robot super baby. jesus. and the 'emo' thing was a joke - I thought the silhouette from the poster at the top looked like emo chucky peeking from the shadows. god i hate you. Freddie Highmore pissed me off in that 'follow the music' movie too - stupid hobo kid.

lol. oh man, sign me up. i just thought this was going to be a cross between Superbabies: Baby Geniuses and Speed Racer. either way this looks like cinema gold. awful, creepy naked robot boy gold. lol. i'm not seeing it.

grew up watching astroboy so i can't wait for this.. and they definitely should have done DBZ this way could have worked a hundred times better, i mean how silly is vegeta's hair gonna be in live action and who are they gonna use? jason schwartzman?

Hey Keven, the cross between Superbabies and Speed Racer, already happened... it's called Dragonball Evolution, and you are quite right, it sucks. Astroboy on the other hand, is extremely fun.
