Considering Marvel's Joss Whedon-directed superhero extravaganza The Avengers has been in post-production for over four months now, with four months remaining until release, attaching composer Alan Silvestri's musical arrangement is likely the current stage; if not already done so. With that said, according to the Hindustan Times insiders, The Avengers production team are apparently keen on having a Hindi title song for the Indian release of the highly-anticipated film.

An insider reveals that they have shortlisted two bands Euphoria and Agnee from India, and Pakistani rock outfits Strings and Jal to compose and sing the soundtrack.

“They are looking for action songs, at par with the mood of the film,” reveals a production insider. “The music composed by these bands will be sampled, and on the basis of that, they will decide which will finally compose the title track of the film. The final call will be taken in the next two weeks,” says the source.

Euphoria’s bass guitarist Deb Jyoti Bhaduri says, “We would love to collaborate with such a big production house, but we haven’t been approached as yet.”

Marvel Production remained unavailable for comment on the above reports. Anyhow, Pop rock band Strings, one of the bands considered, has worked on Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 back in 2004. Whether or not the addition of a Hindi title song will affect the U.S. release is uncertain. What do you think?

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, & directed by Joss Whedon from a screenplay by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. So... they're basically created an India version of the movie with an Indian title song? Cool! Logical, since India is featured when Bruce Banner treats their patients. Indians seem to love films that show off their culture or homeland. Marvel is smart. They'll get big sales from India.

GOING HINDU? WTF?

Dude...hindu is a RELIGION! HINDI is the language. As for Pakistani language, thats URDU.

Please do two seconds of research before.

It sounds just as [frick]ing absurd as saying "Going Christian" or "Going Jewish" for a song.

I doubt India is getting "special treatment"; all this buzz amounts to is most likely some Indian/Paki incidental music during the scene(s) where Banner is in India.

Probably going to be "Strings" because they also did a title track for "Spider-Man 2"

This is very much normal. An Indonesian rock band also contributed a song to Spider-Man 2 for local release. It's just to enhance local feel to the film to attract more local audience.

They should go for it.
