Reports have been coming in for the last week or two that upcoming Broadway musical Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark is in trouble.
After the Disney buyout, news hit that the Marvel wasn't dumping any more money into the musical--which was already past 45 million, and it was announced that production had been suspended and that the stars had been released from their contracts.
U2's Bono immediately jumped in and has been raising money to keep the sure-to-be-bomb afloat, and it is said to still have an opening date of March 2010 at The Hilton Theater in New York City.
Producer David Garfinkle has been scrambling to get a new dose of financing to get the ball rolling again.
It's survival doesn't seem too likely.
