Gina Carano & Ed Skrein Open Up About Their Villainous Characters In DEADPOOL

Speaking about their villainous duo and the relationship they share, Deadpool stars Gina Carano (Haywire) and Ed Skrein (Game Of Thrones) had plenty to say to IGN about their roles as 'Angel Dust' and 'Ajax' respectively. Hit the jump to check it out!

IGN recently caught up with stars Ed Skrein and Gina Carano to talk about Deadpool. Opening up about their villainous characters, 'Ajax' and 'Angel Dust', the pair dropped a few details about how they fit into the film's wider story. "The program that we run is very similar to Weapon X, in that we take terminally-ill soldiers and we give them superpowers," Skrein claimed. "Ajax and Angel Dust went through that process themselves and now we run the program and we're the people that changed Wade Wilson into Deadpool."

Carano revealed that she and Skrein worked on Angel Dust's backstory together. "We decided Ajax kind of found her," Carano said. "Angel Dust will only listen to Ajax. I'm like a horse rearing to go and he pretty much has the reins." Skrein added that the nature of their characters' relationship was designed to be intentionally ambiguous. "We really wanted people to not know whether we were Brother and Sister, lovers, whether it is a teacher-pupil situation almost like a pimp and prostitute situation, for want of a better word."

Nice, I hope it's a case of a rogue scientist rebooting the Weapon X programme for his own intentions,
But I hope we get a Big Bad at the end of it and it's not just as simple as Ajax and Angel Dust on their own.

But I am excited. Gina is an awefup actress but makes an amazing Henchwoman, so excited to see her kick ass.

Also, I LOVE how she describes their relationship, I think that's the perfect way to handle it.
We don't need a cliche explanation of their origins or for them to be some evil super couple.
There's nothing wrong with ambiguity

Oh not the Carano for Wonder Woman thing again....
Gal Gadot has very limited acting experience but Carano was just painful to watch in Fast Five, and personally they're both gorgeous but Gal Gadot looks more like Diana.

I've never seen either of them "act", I've never had the pleasure of a fast n furious film i just think physically Gina has the look to pull of an Amazonian princess while Gal is just to thin for my tastes.

Gadot is gonna kill it, it was awesome to finally see some footage, and she looked more confident at Comic Con this than last year, imo

I think Gina Carano will play her role well in Deadpool, can't wait for that movie, like you said, she'll make a good henchwoman

But, Reynolds is going to own the role, everything from the costumes to the action, to the dialogue looks amazing. I think Ajax is going to be an awesome villain too,

Yeah, I stand by the Gadot casting, she looks perfect.

And I think with Deadpool, it looks as tho every character is important and will have their chance to shine and are all cast flawlessly. Ryan's gonna own the role, that's a given. Carano will obviously have an awesome fist fight scene, Ajax will be the big bad and orchestrator of Wade's transformation, even Negasonic Teenage Warhead will be some comedy relief and seems to have a sidekick role along with Colussus. Morena as Vanessa will provide an emotional anchor.

I just like how everyone has a purpose and no one is thrown in just for fun or to bloat it up a little.

i lie then, i have seen her act. Just the beginning of haywire where she fights Tatum in the dinner, think I've seen the episode of Almost Human with her in too.

i just hope that since deadpool has the R rating they don't throw dick jokes in every other scene just for the hell of it, could get real old real fast and i'm really looking forward to seeing it.
