The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

While I will see the movie, my only problem is that it looks too damn predictable.

It's OK.............

Another illogical poster. Right up there with ones of th Avengers posing awkardly while the city is being destroyed and Batman somehow avoiding falling debris despite standing in the middle of it.

Nice poster. Nothing exciting here. I can't find anything to look forward to -- other than seeing a new Spider-Man movie, nothing about this is refreshing or excitement-worthy. Like @RR51, it's seems predictable.

@TheAmazingHipsterMan- I'm well aware it's not a still. This poster still doesn't make any sense because Spider-Man is somehow swinging about every skyscraper in the city. Sorry for criticizing your baby.

@thewonderer- That one makes sense. I'm talking about the recent one that rehashes the teaser and photoshops Batman onto it. That one was so bad, I thought it was fan-made.

@thewonderer So? This poster isn't meant to be a depiction of the damn film. More than half the posters released for TDKR for flat-out [frick]ing awful, it doesn't mean that the film will be.
@JBatesy No offense, but that's a little bit ludicrous/spiteful.
Can't wait for this and TDKR.

@CaptainObvious

He's too amazing for skyscrapers. lol. He swings from clouds. Hello! Seriously though, are you arguing over the physics of the art on a movie poster? I mean, that doesn't bother me, but that's a strange thing to critique- the logic of a movie poster.

@3D- I'm not the one who started the argument. Certain people can't take it personally when their most anticipated movie is criticized. I was just saying how the poster makes no sense and compared it to ones that also didn't make sense. Is it really too much to ask that it makes sense?

@CaptainObvious

I don't care. Go ahead, tear up the logic of the poster. People won't like you for it. But can you blame them? It's a poster. Meant to be eye-catching. The more surreal, the more eye-catching. That's all I'm sayin'.

Must we always get in a super hero movie argument every time something from one of the movies is released. It is a promo image not an amazing one,but cool would prefer one on a building or ground level but whatever.
TheAstoundingMan
TheAstoundingMan - 6/2/2012, 4:24 PM
It's not simply how visually awkward the poster is.

Given that Spiderman is centred around the concept of a regular guy just doing what he thinks is right, having him swinging between buildings or at least standing on top of one would make much more sense.

Not to mention that it would look much better than this.

I think this movie is gonna be on par quality wise with TDKR and Avengers, I don't think it will make as much as those two though.
