More Live Action WONDER WOMAN News

More exciting news about the long anticipated film.
IESB has gotten some more news on the WONDER WOMAN front from inside the Warner Bros. camp.

A while back I told you that the live action Wonder Woman film was gaining life wiht at WB and Silver Pictures had been picking up speed as of late. So far they have been on the hunt for new writers and were taking pitches.

Now, IESB has gotten another tidbit of news, looks like WB and Silver Pictures are now looking for a director. The studios are enthusiastically working together to attach elements to the film to get it up and going quickly.

No word yet on who the leading actress will be, it will probably be given to someone like Angelina Jolie unfortunately.

I think that if they want to be true to the source material they should cast an actual Greek actress for the role. I saw an actress in Europe who would be amazing in it.

Dimitria Matsouka. She is one of the most popular actress's in Greece, and Southern Europe. She was born in Athens in 1974. She graduated from the prestigious Athens Dramatic School in 1998. She has stared in some of the most popular shows in Greece, and Southern Italy. She was amazing in the Italian film El Greco in 2007, yes I saw it in Greece, you should definatley check it out in the foreign film section of your local movie store.

Here is a short clip from one of her shows

And here is the trailer for El Greco so you can here a little bit of her voice in English.

Her dialogue in the clip, looses something in translation. But man that voice of hers....wow.

She could I suppose..
TheSoulEater - 3/29/2009, 1:02 AM
Does she speak english? Clip also had a soap opera feel.
Betty - 3/29/2009, 7:26 AM
Just watched trailer for El Greco. Saw her speaking english so ok. It would be nice to hear that accent.
Betty - 3/29/2009, 7:32 AM
Thanks Betty, i just put it up.
THEHAWK - 3/29/2009, 8:07 AM
Wasn't Wonder Woman chosen in a contest? Then why not do a sort of casting-contest to choose the actress? It would add background too.

Success recipe: luxury supporting actors and a great soundtrack.

P.D: Could anyone add to the main page the release date of Green Lantern, please? 17th December 2010
Merinator - 3/29/2009, 1:28 PM
Merinator - OH GOD, that's a HORRIBLE idea! I can see it now... a reality TV show called "Amazon Idol". Three judges (Simon Cowell, Billy Blanks from 'Tae-Bo' fame, and "Knight Rider's" David Hasselhoff) judge contestants in a weekly elimination series to see who has the acting talent and fighting skill to be the next Wonder Woman!

... and now I'm off to projectile vomit...
loganoneil - 3/29/2009, 8:18 PM
I always thought the way hot Angie Harmon would make a good Wonder Woman
aztony1975 - 3/29/2009, 8:22 PM
I would hit that.
GameAnime45 - 3/29/2009, 11:04 PM
Not bad. Nice to see them actually moving on something.

Monica Bellucci for Hippolyta.
WeaponX - 3/30/2009, 12:23 AM
Hmm...idk, she's pretty yes, she can act, I'll give her that...but I'm not feeling "Wonder Woman" when I see her...but then again, i could be proven wrong if she gets the part, but I'm not to hip on her as WW
davidzuck - 3/30/2009, 12:54 AM
Megan Gale or Angie Harmon!!!!
phendry - 3/30/2009, 12:57 AM
I lost all interest when the dropped the perfect person for making this film. I am not a huge fan of the character, but with Joss Wheadon attached I actually wanted to see it. This role is very hard to cast because we can say we want a greek actress or we can say we want an attractive woman, but deep down we all know that to be belieable at all she has to have some size to her she can't be 5'8 125 pounds. Larger actresses that are actually attractive are few and far between if there actually are any. Let alone adding in that she has to be greek according to some. I don't think it's possible to properly cast this film.
stupify_me - 3/30/2009, 3:24 AM
sure why not.

grif - 3/30/2009, 4:30 AM
DUDE, SHE HAS TO LOOK HOT, ACT GOOD, AND BE AVAILBLE.
GUNSMITH - 3/30/2009, 5:12 AM
Of course I wasn't thinking of anything as "American Idol", that would be foolish. But giving some fighting tests during the casting would be a good idea.
Merinator - 3/30/2009, 5:13 AM
i still think charisma carpenter (angel and buffy) should be given the roll.
rage - 3/30/2009, 7:11 AM
JESSICA BIEL!!!! She's just perfect for the role!!!
LEEE777 - 3/30/2009, 8:25 AM
Though this chic seems okay, just don't know her??? As for MEGAN GALE, i think she got shelved with the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie! Could she even act?? Still any of these a million times than BEYONCE lmfao!!! : D
LEEE777 - 3/30/2009, 8:27 AM
I still think megan gale could do it.

WW2
Betty - 3/30/2009, 9:12 AM
Yep Betty, that sure looks like WONDER WOMAN to me!!! Who ever they pick i hope they keep the costume, they better!!! Some costumes you cant touch! Like this one!!! ; )
LEEE777 - 3/30/2009, 9:32 AM
The only reason I want this movie to be good is so that they can segue into a JLA movie...

Gale really seems like she has the stuff. It all depends on what director Silver gets.
TucsonRican - 3/30/2009, 9:35 AM
First, ugh. Dimitria Matsouka is gross looking, like a little bulldog with smoke pouring out of her nostrils. I would believe her as Wonder Woman as much as I would believe Arthur Fonzarelli as Wonder Woman.

She's an Amazon so were talking 6-foot or better, and Amazons are a nation of trained fighting warriors, so muscles abound. If all some of you need for there to be a Wonder Woman is a hottie, go read playboy.

As far as Megan Gale goes, she's a supermodel. Can she act? The two aren't usually synonymous with each other.

Griff, that audition tape you posted was hysterical, thanks. I don't know if it was meant to be, but it was. Kudos!
gtrman - 3/30/2009, 9:36 AM
I'm sure she was mentioned before, but I think Kate Beckinsale would be decent Wonder Woman. She has the looks and she's good at action roles.
BmanHall - 3/30/2009, 10:02 AM
@LEEE777 - I'd like to touch that costume!

Kate Beckinsale, like a lot of other names flying around sound good to start with but they are all too small, we're talking an amozonian woman here! We need to be looking along the lines of female wrestlers, only more credible. You know what I'm saying...
Howlett04 - 3/30/2009, 10:09 AM
I think Megan Gale will take the lead role, so they can make the Justice League film more credible. I hope she can indeed perform well: I want to see how good can be a Wonder Woman film.
Merinator - 3/30/2009, 10:31 AM
if they want to go w/named actress, Jessica Biel woundn't be a bad choice, cus even though Blade 3 "sucked"(ha-ha)she pulled off the physicality quite well, and she's [frick]ing hot.
deadpool87 - 3/30/2009, 12:02 PM
I think Wonder Woman needs to be tall 5'11-6. I think she needs to be strong, toned, well defined but not a female wrestler like say Chyna. Wonder Woman was strong without sacrificing her femininity as I always say. She needs to have the raven hair and the blue eyes. She must be a credible actress with credible fighting skills to better portray Wonder Woman on screen and bring her to life. And putting contacts on them is just not the same for example JEssica ALba in Fantastic 4. I kept wondering what was off..IMO.

Megan Gale has the look and the height, we dont know about the acting or fighting. Kate Beckinsale has got the acting range but not the height. Is there no one in between?

Dimitra is pretty, exotic, sultry look, has the voice to command I think but doesnt have the look of our WOnder WOman in the more traditional way tht most of us want to see nor the height. If we are going to go with someone who is 5'7 and exotic looking then what about Aishwarya Rai from The Last Legion with Colin Firth? I have seen her pictures and her looks really strike out at you.

I dont know but I say someone who is right there in the middle is Jody Lynn O'keefe all the way. She has the no nonsense dont play with me look, the height of 5'10, the look dark hair & blue eyes, does fighting. I lways choose her as my fav or Lena Heady (too short 5'5) or Emily Deschanle 5'9.

I have heard of Ivana Milicevic she is 5'10.5 from Casino Royal but like Aishwarya Rai I dont know her work only seen pictures. Does anyone know them?

Merinator... I know who you dont like... =:) But who do you prefer? so far..

KeepItReal - 3/30/2009, 12:28 PM
Beil, Beckinsale, or O'Keefe. I CAN'T DECIDE!!!

A female wrestler might be good, but none of the current Fighters have Wonder Woman's look. Beth Phoenix is not quite WW, neither is any other WWE or TNA wrestler.

Bridget Reagen's still my top pick. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. :)
SpiderMan209 - 3/30/2009, 12:29 PM
Deadpool87...Jessica Biel sure did! I would love that the Wonder WOman they do pick in the end will have her physique! She is toned & strong athletic could take care of biz. Thats what Wonder WOman needs. Jessica is also 5'7.

spiderman209..purrr!! lol..It's just fun picking! So many to choose from.
KeepItReal - 3/30/2009, 12:33 PM
I like her and so does my miss lady! we are in
shibazz - 3/30/2009, 12:58 PM
@KeepitReal: Yeah, I'm not gonna front. Beautiful Tough Girls (such as Beil and Bridget) are my weakness. I turn into a helpless kitten around them, hence the purring.

My ex-wife can't stand it: "Who are you dating now? Does she make you purr? She makes you Purr, huh? What do you mean she make you "Meow?!" lol

I'm a bad bad kitty! :)
SpiderMan209 - 3/30/2009, 1:09 PM
I agree that Wonder Woman should be tall, and Kate Beckinsale doesn't quite measure up to our Amazonian Princess. But you have to remember, this is Hollywood. You can appear as large or as small as you need to be. Example:

Comic book Wolverine (James Howlett) is 5'3". Meanwhile Hugh Jackman, who I must say is the perfect Wolverine on screen, stands at 6'2" 1/2. That's 1/2 an inch away from being 1 ft taller!

Size does not matter in Hollywood.
BmanHall - 3/30/2009, 1:34 PM
Maybe Tricia Helfer with Black long hair?
DarkAvengers - 3/30/2009, 1:50 PM
this movie is doomed. the producers are dead set on casting actors who barely speak english. its just a symptom of bad decision making. They will make the entire movie really awful.
tjdr59 - 3/30/2009, 2:14 PM
I am seeing Prison Break right now. Judging Jody without seeing the character, I can say that she has a face a bit squared, nothing more.

I have thinked a detail about Ivana Milicevic, but I don't know enough languages to assure it: she was borned in Sarajevo, so perhaps she can speak english with a bit of balcanic accent like greek, I think that both serbian and greek come from the same slavic language families.

If you want to see both Tricia Helfer and Ivana Milicevic, they have performed in the Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 3 respectively.

Of course Tricia Helfer is easier to be seen in Gallactica.

Another name: Jennifer Morrison and Olivia Wilde from House M.D. (they are Doctor Cameron and Thirteen respectively).

Posdata: I haven't picked a favourite actress yet, I would want to hear more unknown options. Perhaps if I see a photoshoped picture of Jody I would agree with you, KeepItReal, really.
Merinator - 3/30/2009, 2:23 PM
I know Megan Gale.. She can't act.. in ITaly nobody was happy whit her for the JLA MOVIE. I don' understand Miller...bah
rofevi - 3/30/2009, 2:40 PM
This is just going to be one of those roles were everyone has their picks and finds faults with the others. No matter what they decide, we the fans will have issues with it.

I like the girl I picked up top, Dimitria Matsouka.
She is one of the most popular actresses over there, she graduated from Athens,
she has the look, she is beautiful,
she has the commanding voice that is nessasary to keep peoples attention on her performance, rather than her chest..

The ony flaws are her height, eyes, and the fact that she is not known to the American audience.

Whoever they decide on, I just hope its not some one like Angelina Jolie.
THEHAWK - 3/30/2009, 2:50 PM
Tricia Hefler is gorgeous..but i dont think she has the right look for WW..Beckinsale is a weak actress...Biel would be good id say..but im sticking with Jolene Blalock for my pic, i mean do the words WONDER and WOMAN suit anyone better?

Rorschach01 - 3/30/2009, 2:53 PM
It is still possible that we have a good surprise. I looked with generous skepticism Heath Ledger as the Joker and see it now. May God keep him in His Glory, he did it too well.

What do you think about Jennifer Morrison or Olivia Wilde from House MD?
Merinator - 3/30/2009, 3:00 PM
Also, im not sure if she still looks like this but check out Charisma Carpenter!..Pretty much a ringer for Diana id say

just ..torture!
Rorschach01 - 3/30/2009, 3:04 PM
Yes, Charisma Carpenter looks good, but I bet that being so related with Joss Whedon she will be out of the cast.
Merinator - 3/30/2009, 3:07 PM
In matters of face, I place my bet in Ivana Milicevic:

Ror - great minds think alike (in this case - I still say Singer, Raimi, McGuire and Dunst must die - LMFAO)...
loganoneil - 3/30/2009, 3:26 PM
"Another name: Jennifer Morrison and Olivia Wilde from House M.D. (they are Doctor Cameron and Thirteen respectively)."

I am familiar with both and IMO no. Jennifer is only 5'5 (1.66m) and is too weak in character to do the role justice of Wonder woman. She also came out in Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Not good for me.

Oilivia Wilde... she has more edge to her. She is only 5' 7½" (1.71 m) but again...the acting. She has the dark hair and blue eyes... Her husband Tao Ruspoli is a prince...so some royalty there?...haha..

Tricia Helfer... looks very nice with blonde hair...red hair is not very flattering on her so the black might make her look too drab and not do her justice IMO. but she has the height 5'10..cool.

Natasha Henstridge from Species is 5'10 and BEAUTIFUL! I think she may be GREAT also for Wonder woman, she looks fantastic. Born in 1974. She is tall as an amazon, beautiful, can act...

KeepItReal - 3/30/2009, 3:39 PM
Carima Carpenter is related to Whedon? thats not a reason to keep her out! Not fair. Maybe her brown eyes and height of 5'7. JK. lol.. she is beautiful but to me..IMHO..doesnt look like Diana.

All these women are beautiful! Just because they were going to film in austrailia doesnt mean they had to pick Megan Gale for the role!
KeepItReal - 3/30/2009, 3:51 PM
Yes, Charisma acted in Buffy and Angel, both based in Whedon's original Buffy the vampire slayer movie.

I am debating myself now between Jody Lynn O'keefe and Ivana Milicevic. Also, I am thinking of the soundtrack. I am thinking of Loreena McKennitt. She does celtic music, but has a great voice. I like very much this song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz6EFiXbcT8

And as compositor, I don't know who would be better: James Horner, Howard Shore, John Williams or James Newton Howard.
Merinator - 3/30/2009, 4:14 PM
Man! Not fair! I get home from work and there's all this news and fanfare over WW. I feel left out (sniff sniff).

Anyways, I don't know too many actresses as it seems you all do. There is one thing I am getting a little comfortable with, the idea that Hollyweird may actually cast this one right. I am counting on the belief that they'll actually do screen tests and casting calls to ensure a good pick!

BWah hahahaha.

Its all in the hands of God, who am i kidding.
Phinehas - 3/30/2009, 4:32 PM
Oh my Charisma !!!!!! Thank you Ror.... thank you
shibazz - 3/30/2009, 4:44 PM
Not bad. Like the idea of using a real Greek actress. Not sure if this one would be the best choice though. However, I've been proven wrong before.
gandalf550 - 3/30/2009, 4:55 PM
Like most of you guys, I agree with the Jessica Biel pick, great physique and can pull off the action scenes, not to mention she can actually act. I wonder though, if she's being considered for the upcoming Witchblade film. She'd look great as Sarah Pezzini. Not too mention they need to do that film right to honor it's creator Michael Turner (R.I.P) She'd fit either role perfectly.
Shadow89 - 3/30/2009, 5:19 PM
Forget the bracelets, I wonder if Jessica Beil's butt can deflect bullets? Purrrrrrrrrrrrr. :)

Nice pics of Carpenter and Blalock. Bikini's are in the way though. ;)
SpiderMan209 - 3/30/2009, 5:26 PM
Loreena McKennitt is good..but I would like some Amy Lee going on too!

"Forget the bracelets"???...gasp! No! forgive him for he knows not what he says!!! ha-ha lol... I think I agree with Jessica as witchblade. niiice!!!
KeepItReal - 3/30/2009, 7:41 PM
@ keepinItReal--Believe me! "I KNOW what I say!" lol Meow! :)

Curse you, Justin Timberlake! You beat me to HER! ARGH! One day, I will have MY VENGEANCE! One day.......

Beil for WitchBlade, most def! Amy Lee for Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter! :)

SpiderMan209 - 3/30/2009, 8:38 PM
gandalf550: As much as I respect Hawk's researching abilities and choices, I'm afraid this actress maybe too old for WW. I think Diana should be between 25-30 (always exceptions) when she leaves the island. However, that is my only objection to Hawk's choice. Otherwise, Hawk, you're a flippin genius!

I used to consider her a good candidate for WW(Cathrine Zeta Jones), but now she's (they) too old for an origin story. Although, with this news, I think I would still cast her. Maybe as Hippolyta!

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,511470,00.html

Phinehas - 3/30/2009, 9:25 PM
What about the girl who was picked for Justice League? I thought she looked great for the part?
TheDurkinKnight - 3/30/2009, 9:29 PM
GurkinKnight: There are tons of girls that "look" great for the part. But the question everyone wants to know is, 'can she sell a convincing WW to us?'
Phinehas - 3/30/2009, 9:37 PM
Glad you liked the pick Phin.
I picked her because:
-She is one of the best up and coming Greek actress's.
-Her voice is amazing.
-She looks incredible!
-She graduated from Athens Dramatic School
-She has experience.
-She is Greek like WW, for all of those people who believe in respecting the source material.
-She has a commanding onscreen presence.

The drawbacks to her are:
-Not as well known to the American public, but Wonder Woman is one of those roles that would draw a crowd if Triple H played her, no one heard of Christopher Reeve before Superman, and look how much it made.
-Her eyes are the wrong color.
-She is about 5'7", but look at Lord of the Rings. They turned Elijah Wood and Sean Austin into Hobbits, well.... Sean ustin was a Hobbit back in Rudy.

I think if offered the role she could pull it off.

This is one of those things were not everyone will be happy with the choice until the finished product is seen on the big screen, I mean Ledger did not get the most positive feedback when it was announced that he was the Joker.

I think she could do it, but thats just my opinion.lol.

HAWK out.
THEHAWK - 3/30/2009, 9:52 PM
SpiderMan209...VIP member of the meow-meow club! (true club btw!) sick puppy!...I mean, baaad kitty! lol...

KeepItReal - 3/30/2009, 9:53 PM
Hawk, I totally agree with you. The height and eyecolor doesn't scare me one bit. CGI can do wonders! I'm just concerned about her age in an origin movie, along with the potential of serial movies showing us her adventures.
Have you ever seen an aged greek woman?? Ughhh... I'm just a little scarred.

I too was concerned with Ledger's casting until I saw him pull it off with exceptional precision. I am no Ledger fan! I am now a Nolan fan. He knows how to choose his actors. I was concerned about Bale for Wayne. Again, proven wrong. Common factor? Nolan. It was the director given free reign by the studio. I hope their wisdom carries over into this franchise. I hope they don't have a cavalier attitude and let it become camp...

(Taking a deep breath)
Phinehas - 3/30/2009, 10:04 PM

SpiderMan209 - 3/30/2009, 11:53 PM
Im gettin real sick of this wonder woman casting bs,seriously ive never seen so many opinions on a superhero, all i kno is,supposedly, jessica beil for some retarded reason turned it down a while back, so its been wide open ever since,I cant wait when they FINALLY give the official word on whos gonna play her in this damn movie...
zinext - 3/31/2009, 1:54 AM
@KeepItReal---VIP I AM! Buy you a Drink? ;)

Oh! Thank you. =:) It's sweet but I am going to have to pass. But it was nice of you to offer.

Zin! Relax! Drink a 40! Shoot some basketball...lol... Why did Jessica turn it down? Maybe she had something else going on?

Who is your fav superhero?

"but Wonder Woman is one of those roles that would draw a crowd if Triple H played her," huh?! Isnt he a guy? what are you saying? hmmmmm.....
KeepItReal - 3/31/2009, 7:34 AM
I didn't know we could be so tiring :) Anyway, as good friend of mine would say: "esto es más divertido que Tómbola, y yo soy Mariñas".

I have seen that Jody Lynn O'keefe also appears in Command & Conquer- Red Alert 3 Uprising. I have even found this video where we have Jody and Ivana together:

I wish I can post some pictures with Jody Lynn. Maybe I will do as shaman on our favorite pics for WOnder WOman. Then we could take a poll. hmmm...
KeepItReal - 3/31/2009, 8:40 AM
@keepitreal---(giggle) No worries. Thanx 4 letting me down easy. My heart will go on, I suppose....... ;)

I LOVE Jody Lynn O'keefe, but I really can't see her as WW. She'd be a waaaaaaaay better SELENA KYLE/CATWOMAN, if anything.

For real, you guys need to check out Legend of the Seeker, and see Bridget Reagen in it! She can sooooooo totally pull off the whole WW thing. She practically acts like her on the show! Hulu or Youtube and see for yourself if you have an hour to kill!

She's still my top pick! :)

"Also, I am thinking of the soundtrack. I am thinking of Loreena McKennitt. She does celtic music, but has a great voice."

I did not mean Amy for Wonder Woman. I was suggesting her for the soundtrack when you brought music up. The list is long! Gotta do a line up! lol...
KeepItReal - 3/31/2009, 4:05 PM
Keep It Real:
Here is a link to Entertainment Weekly that broke the Biel story back in September of '07. It could be that she didn't want to be in Miller's crapfest vision for the prepubescent Justice League project. Perhaps she may reconsider. I hope so! Look at that beautiful bone structure.

http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2007/09/biel-passes-on-.html

Phinehas - 3/31/2009, 4:21 PM
Phinehas - maybe you didn't notice this, but your article said that Biel turned down the 'JUSTICE LEAGUE' Wonder Woman role... as this is a SOLO project, maybe there's hope for you yet. I (of course) am still pulling for Jolene Blalock!!!!
loganoneil - 3/31/2009, 5:58 PM
Cool! My t.v. Crush: Bridget, made the WW List of Hopefuls! Sweet.

There are sooooo many actresses to choose from on that list! (Some I never really considered either!) I hope one of the Ladies from the list gets the part. :)

Soundtrack suggestions: Do like TDK and just have a killer film Score! Can't go wrong with Hans Zimmer.

My favorite Scores are The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Hannibal, and Interview with the Vampire. There's more, but they elude me at the moment.

@KeepItReal---Ah! I got a "Meow" out of ya, Hmmmmm? Maybe I'll leave the invite for a drink open a little longer? jk ;)
SpiderMan209 - 3/31/2009, 6:55 PM
SpiderMan209 - uh, I could be wrong but I believe Real's married...

Phinehas..."http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2007/09/biel-passes-on-.html" Thank you. If she will look like she did in Blade III... niiice! Her build IMO is what Wonder Woman needs.

Spiderman209... "@loganoneil----Happily?"

yes. Happily =:) I married my Superman! LOL.. You are incorrigible! lol.. baaaaad kitty!!! it's all good.

Logan... thank you. =:)

KeepItReal - 3/31/2009, 8:22 PM
Real - no problem. '...Superman'? Don't you mean you married your 'Steve Trevor' (I thought you were such a purist for the original storyline - LOL)!
loganoneil - 3/31/2009, 9:11 PM
loganoneil: Uh...yeah. I even mention that it was for "Justice League." I also realize that I didn't complete my thought when I said "Perhaps she may reconsider." The following preposistion, "for the solo role" is now to be assumed. You see, I wouldn't want her for George Miller's zygote, teen-angst, melodrama known as Justice League. I am very glad she did turn it down. "Good eye, Jessica! Now swing on the next pitch, Baby!!!" I am confident that since she did Blade III(and we all know what a winner that one was), that she would be more than willing to do a WW that would epic. That is an assumption on my part that she enjoys comic-to-film movies and would like to show us what she has learned over the last few years.

On a side note, I think there would be some good irony to be enjoyed if Ryan Reynolds became the Flash. Then on the "REAL" Justice League team up, they would play a comic hero team again, but for the opposing publisher.
However, now that he is going to be Deadpool, that reality seems to be diminishing.
Phinehas - 3/31/2009, 9:27 PM
"The Incorrigible Spider Man".....I like it! :)

Again, KeepitReal, I apologize.

I'm a bad kitty, but I'm not a Home-wrecking kitty! Glad you found your Supes! :)

I don't know Bridget Reagen's height, .......just her measurements. lol jk :)

But I think of the lesser known actresses, she has the best shot!

Watch Beil get the role, though.

SpiderMan209 - 3/31/2009, 10:09 PM
SM209: But that ain't a bad thing!
Phinehas - 3/31/2009, 10:23 PM
TRUE! I still wanna see if Beil's bodacious butt can deflect bullets! I KNOW it CAN! If I just wish hard enough.........!!! :)
SpiderMan209 - 3/31/2009, 10:34 PM
Don't wish too hard, now. You may be drinking Gatorade for a week!

If we are suggesting composers for score, there are many that are great; James Horner, Hans Zimmer, John "flippin" Williams (I love marches and it may be appropriate here), Danny Elfman, and Klaus Bedelt. I know that there are many other great film composers, but I can't think anymore tonight.
Phinehas - 3/31/2009, 10:40 PM
LOL Massive de-hydration! .....slurred speech....starting to...talk...like...Shatner! lol jk

Nice selection of Composers! I forgot about Elfman! :)
SpiderMan209 - 3/31/2009, 11:10 PM
Here I am, defying that Conficker worm. It will take more than that to silence me :) Speaking of composers, Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard have made a very good team in Batman Begins and TDK, although I don't know if electronic music fit with Wonder Woman. Of course, I think there should be a radical difference between the music in Themyscira and the one of Patriarch's world.
Merinator - 4/1/2009, 5:26 AM
Phinehas - who says Ryan Renolds can't do both? Deadpool is MARVEL, Flash is DC - no conflict there (unless they decide to go for a DC/Marvel universe crossover. Hmmmm....)
loganoneil - 4/1/2009, 7:43 AM
@loganoneil---Good point! He's already played Hannibal King, soon Deadpool, so why NOT Flash? :)

SpiderMan209 - 4/1/2009, 8:32 AM
Merinator no ofence but, what are you the producer or something?? I mean dream casting is one thing, but why in the hell are you even going as far as you are with the score & soundtrack? I can understand being a big fan of a character & really wanting the movie to be awesome, but when it comes to things like the music its like, dude time to get a new hobbie. in that area your only gona be let down if you put too much tought into it. trust me I waited 10 years for a DB movie & look what I ended up with. anyway I don't know why your all bothering to pick your faves, you know ten to one its gona be some no name, or Angelina Jolie like TheHawk said, but in all honesty I won't be disapointed with that. yeah they can definitly find someone better for the role then Jolie but I mean hell, if she can pull of Lara Croft, Wonder Woman shouldn't be that hard. but I'll admit I would like to see someone a little younger, after all she was only a young women when she left Paradice Island.
P.S. I could so see Renolds playing Wally West, but I don't think hed make a good Barry Allen
johan02 - 4/1/2009, 10:26 AM
johan02 - No offense but... get off Merinator's ass! So what if he's speculating about composers? Who the hell are you to be busting his balls for it - the CBM comment police? If he wants to do it, MORE POWER TO HIM! This is a PUBLIC FORUM after all. It shows a real dedication to the material to think this thing through all the way to the finished piece, and not just speculate on which bullet-proof piece of ass (shout-out to Spidy209 for the reference LOL) is gonna' play the part!
loganoneil - 4/1/2009, 11:31 AM
Oh, what a pity, I even had a location, a script and a filming agenda in mind. Honestly, not a complete script, but two or three paragraphs :) Don't worry about my time, a long time ago I developed an agenda between studying and free time.

But when it comes to frustration, well, I hoped something much better for Elektra and Fantastic Four, and then I see THAT (over all that parody of Doctor Doom, it made me quite sick).

Anyway, thanks, Mr. Logan.
Merinator - 4/1/2009, 11:46 AM
@jonhan02. If you rag anyone, rag me. I'm the one that researched and actual Greek actress I saw two years ago for the role, he just named off some composers he felt would lend something to the role. And hey I did the same thing on the Ghost Rider forum.

@Merinator. I would love to see William's do the score, it would give it an epic scope. Danny elfman would be good as well, he could bring an otherworldliness to the role.
THEHAWK - 4/1/2009, 2:01 PM
John Williams would make an epic and great score, yes. (Here comes the but...) but in that case we risk faliing into stereotypes once more. And don't misunderstand me, half the most awesome soundtracks come from John Williams.

The music has to fit with the picture, that is the main requirement. All great soundtracks do (while writing this, I am thinking specially of Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Batman and Dawn of War (yes, I admit it: I am a Warhammer fanatic)).
Merinator - 4/1/2009, 3:21 PM
Well if you're gonna' go EPIC (I really like Williams, but since this is an ULTIMATE 'wish' list), how about (the late) Maurice Jarre (of 'Lawrence of Arabia' fame)? Could you image what that would have sounded like...?

You know, I'm surprised no one has mentioned Tyler Bates (or maybe they have and I've missed it) - He did the original music for a few films you guys might have heard of - '300...' 'Watchmen...' I dunno', maybe you might want to think about this bloke. I can TOTALLY imagine 'Wonder Woman' taking on a '300' vibe!
loganoneil - 4/1/2009, 3:31 PM
Bates... Not sure, I could see I suppose
THEHAWK - 4/1/2009, 3:50 PM
SM209.. "I'm a bad kitty, but I'm not a Home-wrecking kitty! Glad you found your Supes! :)

It's all good... no worries... lol...we're cool! =:)

Logan.. '...Superman'? Don't you mean you married your 'Steve Trevor'

No, I married my Superman. Steve Trevor is not for Wonder WOman IMO. Steve only represents the good in man that she has hopes for, her ideals but he is not her equal. Wonder WOman feels love for him but to me more like a "crush" or infatuation since he is her first encounter with a man and is naive, innocent. My take on it anyway.

Merinator: "I think there should be a radical difference between the music in Themyscira and the one of Patriarch's world. "

So true. While on the island the music should match the mood. On the island there's beauty. Diana is young, carefree, innocent in the way of the world of man. Once she reaches the Patriarch world this would change once she sees just how cruel & evil mans world can be. The music would reflect that. You would need more edge, a more powerful score. (I could see something like maybe Enya or Loreena McKennitt mixed with some Amy Lee from Evanessence. Start out soft with Enya and then as Wonder woman starts pounding the crap out of the bad guys the music speeds up and gets heavier w/the bass and Amy lee and then... yeah I'll stop now.. sorry about that.)

I love John Williams,Danny Elfman etc.. THEY"RE ALL GOOD IMO.. 300...niiiiiiice!
KeepItReal - 4/1/2009, 7:24 PM
Loganoneil:
Just so there isn't any confusion, I think you're right, he could do both. But he runs the risk of over-exposure. And I don't want the Flash's greatness diminished.

I say no to Enya. Evanessence is a good idea for when she gets Stateside. That was good. I do like where you were going with Enya, KIR, and the mood she would bring to it, I just don't like Enya and would make WW too soft if not placed right. Who was the woman on the Gladiator films or LOTR Extended Ed.?
Phinehas - 4/1/2009, 10:57 PM
Sadly, Lawrence of Arabia's composer, Maurice Jarre, has died very recently, only four days ago. We will remember him and his music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irPSvEkQl8Q

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3X-Q4nmYqc4

Did anyone ask who singed in The Lord of the Rings? That score moved me :) The soundtrack was composed by Howard Shore and there have been more singers:

1) Enya: May It Be (credits from The Fellowship of the Ring)

2) Emiliana Torrini: Gollum's song (credits from The Two Towers)

3) Annie Lenox: Into the West (credits from The Return of the King)

Also Viggo Mortensen and Billy Boyd sang a bit.

But if you were asking about the elf choirs, I don't have any idea.

The music of Watchmen... I like the credits mery much, but it had low moments too. Using the Ride of the Valkyries in the Vietnam scene (as in Apocalypse Now) and Mozart's Requiem after Rorschach death, in my opinion, were out of place. Melody's theme fit, but they are too well-known, and creates an unavoidable discontinuity. A variation about the original theme with a 10 seconds transition would have been fantastic. It would have provided continuity without sacrificing tribute.
Merinator - 4/2/2009, 7:30 AM
Marinator - I can understand the whole 'LOTR' thing, but that had a celtic vibe to it. Wonder Woman is Greek, which makes me go towards the whole Bates / '300' thing. Give it a Mediterranean spin...
loganoneil - 4/2/2009, 11:38 AM
Perhaps I have made a poor choice of words. The greek touch is indispensable, and it should be a constant in the film. And I liked the music of "300". What I don't want to appear and appeared in 300 was an electric guitar in fighting scenes. I believe that rock doesn't fit with Wonder Woman, it suits her like a pair of guns suits a saint.

P.D: I have just seen the Smallvile episode where Zatanna appears, I liked it. I have read that the actress, Serinda Swan, is 5'9'' tall. If she had some more experience, I would say we have another candidate.

@Logan: about Mediterranean spin, yes..., but it won't prosper. I imagine at least three excuses from producers to dismiss the idea. Anyway, I know how much Wonder Woman is known around here and is practically unknown, but I would like the idea of seeing an spanish or italian actress as Wonder Woman. There are some chicks very beautiful up here ;)
Merinator - 4/2/2009, 3:47 PM
Cool! So we all agree on a kick-@$$ Score...Just not a Composer. Hmmmm.

Marilyn Manson, maybe? lol jk

Hey! Glenn Danzig! The Black Aria albums rule!

Wonder Woman: Music from the original motion picture soundtrack featuring music composed by Glenn Danzig and Marilyn Manson!

woot woot! If you haven't noticed, I'm out of ideas. :)
SpiderMan209 - 4/2/2009, 9:04 PM
SpiderMan209: You know what? I actually like where you are going with this. Why would it have to be something that is so tonal that would put you to sleep. Nay, I tell thee. Enya could be convey the serenity of Themyscira, and Glenn Danzig (not crazy about Manson), or maybe Rob Zombie could convey frenetic, hurried hustle and bustle of Metropolis or "New York City". Then again, these should be female artists only. I must profess an exception, however. We need a march from with orchestral composition. I suggest John William with somthing likened to his SuperMan, but an original for WonderWoman...of course.
Phinehas - 4/2/2009, 10:39 PM
ok, didn't mean to get on all your ass' I just don't see the point all Merinator is doing is setting himself up for disapointment, just tring to help the guy out, my comment was nevet ment as an insult anyone. & loganoneil, I wasn't putting Jolie as my bid for the part just saying, more then likely, its gona be her, someone like her, or a complete no name. I just don't see the point in all this. yes dream casting is fun but when you come right down to it all your doing is wasting your time & building up your hopes that will, more likely then not, be let down. I mean honestly do you really think this movie is going to turn out anything like what YOU think it should be? regardless of weather your the biggest fan of Wonder Woman or just have a mild interest, unless your involved in the actual production you are almost garented a let down in some form or another, thats all I'm saying. I mean even if the movie is the next DK your still gona be going
"that was good but it would have been so much better if they had goten......to play the lead" I'm just trying to help, I would hate to see all of you bumed out with a good movie just cause it didn't fit YOUR dream cast, or have the score you liked, I'll admitt it it I have dream casted before & no good ever comes of it when the film is finished with production. yeah its fun & fills up the empety spots in your mind, but if thats what your after just turn it into your own little RPG or something, at least that way it can only ever be what YOU want it to be. dream casting is only setting yourself up for disapointment. sorry if that offends some of you, just the truth.
johan02 - 4/3/2009, 1:45 PM
Well, first of all I don't feel insulted, everyone has an opinion. And I will get dissapointed only if I let anyone dissapoint me, that's the second. I have read the comics and I have the perfect history in mind (for me, of course), but I would like to share it.

Besides, this is really funny :)
Merinator - 4/3/2009, 3:40 PM
AH! but Johan look at Ryan Renolds. He was perfect for Deadpool, and he is now Wade Wilson in Wolverine. That was a dream cast. Oh by the way, anyone remember the Dreamcast.lol
THEHAWK - 4/3/2009, 3:42 PM
Hawk: As in Sega's game console? If so, yep!

Johan, I too hope no one takes "dream casting" so seriously that they are disappointed. I've been wrong here and there and have been glad about it. I think people do it to get feedback on their ideas. I think its also a way for people to see what other like-minded people think about things they love, namely, comicbook movies.
Phinehas - 4/3/2009, 4:30 PM
How about Alice Panikian? She is a Canadian beauty pageant chick. She has a great look, and she's 6 feet tall, like an Amazonian woman! I just don't know anything about her acting skills. Here is a good pic of her....
