Thanks everyone means a lot it had to be hard all the entries were awesome
Set2Fallfirst - 11/5/2009, 10:05 PM
@Set: Sorry I didn't touch base with you when I was in town. I was only in Cali for 2 hours and once I got back I was rushing to finish the certificates. Hope you like how they came out!

Let me address these two issues before the questions start:

- MasterLe's Iron Man is an incredible work of art. Three things stopped him from winning:

1) According to various websites, he has been working on the suit since 2008 (along with Mark III and War Machine ones).

2) After a bit of research, we found many different contests that he entered this year and last. He was even the winner of Wizard Magazine's 2009 costume contest. We do not encourage contest 'trolling'.

3) We attempted to contact him repeatedly to find out details of his entry and clear up any misconceptions but never received a response.

MasterLe's Iron Man is truly an ingenious creation and we highly recommend that you check out all of the images he has on his site:

http://405th.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21519&st=0

- gregrock's Deadpool bodysuit was store bought. I know this for a fact because my friend has the same one. But he did a GREAT job of putting the entire costume together!

Hope that clears up any questions!

Everyone did a great job this year, Congratulations. Multi awesome job on everything, love the certificates. It will definitely be bigger next year.
Stubbyswof - 11/6/2009, 6:44 AM
So sorry that my costume was 100% handmade and full of fine detail. And that my scenery and props were too nicely shot and creative for a win. Maybe I should buy mine next time and throw it on. Not even an honorable mention, huh. Nice.
icongfx - 11/6/2009, 6:45 AM
Congrats to the winners and thanks to everyone that entered! It was a blast judging this and i'd do it again and again!!! How abour a big round of... typing, for MULTI-PP for all his hard work, GOOD GOD those posters KICK ASS!!! Great job Multi!!! Well... i guess i'll be hard at work drawing some sketches huh? LOL :P

LEEE- Actually, only the five winners get a sketch, the honorably mentionned and fan's choice winner get something else ;) Set's order is recieved and duly noted and i think you'll be pleasantly... uh, pleasant. It's not much of a surprise really LOL :P

So for all the winners, be sure to get in contact with Multi to let him know what portrait you would prefer between one of yourself in your costume (specifics in images required) OR your very choice of actor as your very choice of Superhero!!! And that goes even if i dissagree with it!!! And you know that's a rare thing for me to do other than the odd fan poll where i happen to be indecisive. I hope you'll enjoy and sorry but i get to keep the original work. I'll be personally sending you your sketch via e-mail!

Question: Invalensname, your real name is "ACTUALLY" John Sheridan... and you have a Londo avatar??? Why don't you put up ol' Cap Boxleitner??? He kicked major ass ;) Of course, i like Londo too, Peter Jurasik is a great actor!
Shaman - 11/6/2009, 6:59 AM
icongfx@ Grow up ;(

Norma Jeane - 11/6/2009, 7:10 AM
To Poni and all the judges involved, thank you so much for such an awesome contest. Ty had a wonderful time. Seeing himself online was such an honor. He was so excited. Thanks to everyone who voted for him in the fan fav catagory as well.

All the entries looked amazing.
bhfireman - 11/6/2009, 7:12 AM
Coming from a guy named teabag? Funny. Hey man, I'm allowed to be disappointed. Leave it alone. Until next year!
icongfx - 11/6/2009, 7:17 AM
@icongfx: We loved your costume, truly we did. It just so happens that someone else had one that accrued more points (but you were in the top three). I understand your disappointment, but try not to take it personally.

Too bad your wife's Baroness costume wasn't entered in the contest, I'm sure she would have gotten hella votes for fan fav!

I wish I had enough prizes to send to every contestant since you ALL deserve a big show of gratitude, but I only have so many to give out and only the shipping charges are costly enough as is.

But I know I speak for all the judges when I say that we don't have to justify our decision to anyone except the website owner.

P.S. Try not to brag about the creative scenery in your photos, if I remember correctly I was the one who told you to take them in a parking garage in the first place.
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 7:25 AM
So the rules get written as we go along?

I agree with Teabag, grow up. Your suit looked sweet. I wished I came up with this contest so Multi could enter and kicked everyones ass.

Next time everyone will know better to NOT vote for a 'store bought' costume.

The rules need to be more upfront and clarified for the next contest.

SirPrize - 11/6/2009, 7:28 AM
Thanks Poni! I am glad you are keeping an eye out.
icongfx - 11/6/2009, 7:28 AM
Good Gawd. Someone has a freaking huge chip on thy shoulder.
SirPrize - 11/6/2009, 7:29 AM
@Shaman, I am going to struggle to think of an actor I really want you to draw! Crap!

Guys, thanks again!
TheAnswer - 11/6/2009, 7:33 AM
TheAnswer - you did great and thank you for sharing with the rest of us.
SirPrize - 11/6/2009, 7:35 AM
That's what happens when you base your costume on one of the worst movies of the year... ;)

Seriously though icongfx, your costume was great and it was clear that you put a lot of time and effort into it but so did the guys above! Not everyone can win and Im betting that the kids who entered and lost arent making this big of a fuss!

Though I do think that next year the rules should be changed so that store bought costumes arent allowed - its unfair to those who actually made them from scratch.

MULTI: Those certificates are awesome by the way! :)
joshw24 - 11/6/2009, 7:37 AM
MULTI - Awesome work there chap. Just brilliant.

:::GOLF CLAP:::
SirPrize - 11/6/2009, 7:40 AM
I DO want to say this about the whole 'off the rack' costume issue:

The original rules I wrote for the contest included this:

- Costumes must be at least 50% handmade (not including props)

This was removed from the rules for the following reason: This being our first costume contest, we wanted to encourage as many entries as possible. We weren't even sure that we would have enough entries to cover the categories, so we didn't want to limit our choices.

I assure you, next year we will have more categories to better fit the entries. Thanks for understanding!

@josh/SP: Thanks bud! It took all friggin' day to make 'em. I was even working on them while on the plane to Cali LOL

MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 7:44 AM
Oh, BTW, next year I'M entering the Fan Fav category dammit ;)

I added a poll to the article, let me know what you think!
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 7:49 AM
I do have to be honest, I feel a little cheated... JUST KIDDING. But really, I mean EVERYTHING in mine was completely hand-made and hand-done. I dyed all the fabrics and re-sewed them to be tailor made and fit and applied all the makeup myself. And that's no easy job to do with the face either haha. I had fun though, but I am glad to hear that next year the categories withh be more specific. Maybe then I can win for authenticity or something. Great job to everyone involved including Multi! Awesome idea for a contest man.
AdamFalcon - 11/6/2009, 7:53 AM
MULTI: Damn right you should!

MULTI

CBM's real fan favourite, lol ;D
joshw24 - 11/6/2009, 8:03 AM
Congratulations to all of the Winners! =) WooHoo!

It was fun doing this and I think everyone had really nice costumes. =) I think everyone should get a hand for participating and making CBM a gr8 place to be and just hang out.

I only wish I could a sketch from Shaman for my son... hmmmm... wonder if he takes commision? =P
KeepItReal - 11/6/2009, 8:17 AM
Captain America is the man! His balls have balls.
SirPrize - 11/6/2009, 8:27 AM
icongfx@ Theres a fine line between Disapointment and thinking you deserve a mention....im sure the majority of people enterd this comp for fun NOT cus they expected anything....thats my point :P

Multi@ looking forward to next year where hopefully i can enter myself :)

Again congrats to everyone :)

SP@ Thats a ballsy statement :)
teabag - 11/6/2009, 8:28 AM
@SirPrize, Cheers bud!

Now if only this flu I have would go away so I could go for a pint or 2 to celebrate! ;)
TheAnswer - 11/6/2009, 8:29 AM
Congrats to all, you look bleedin deadly! I want to be drawn by Shaman:(
Rorschach01 - 11/6/2009, 8:30 AM
SHAMAN @ BS, the original article said you had a choice!!!

LMFAO!!! ; D

JOSH @ Cool PIC!!!
LEEE777 - 11/6/2009, 8:37 AM
Teabag _ if you can't enter yourself, then I'll enter you. =P
SirPrize - 11/6/2009, 8:38 AM
@SP: Too late. I'm already there and it's at max capacity :P
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 8:44 AM
i should have entered my Rorschach costume. it was beast. maybe next year
Fartman - 11/6/2009, 8:45 AM
Then I'll get the front in. We'll leave him speechless one way or the other. LOL.
SirPrize - 11/6/2009, 8:45 AM
I will enter next year, if my girlfriend doesn't like the fact I'll be dressing up as a superhero instead of something that goes a long with what she looks good in, then I'll headbutt her twat.
I'm thinking about Hal Jordan Green Lanern or Green Arrow.
FlashThompson - 11/6/2009, 8:46 AM
Get the midgets to spin me and its a proper spit roast :)
teabag - 11/6/2009, 8:53 AM
Musn't forget the midgets, bless 'em
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 8:56 AM
tea: you kill me! :D
KeepItReal - 11/6/2009, 8:57 AM
TheAnswer- Can't wait to get your choice! ;)

KeepItReal- I'm not saying "not ever" but this whole contest is a bit of an exception. I've got a huge pile of projects to work on right now so i can't promise anything. But keep hold of those pictures of your son, i might let you know in our near futur when i might be able to ;)

Rorschach01- Well, if it's any consolation to you, the little project i told you about a while back is still on just not at the top of the pile. I'll need to establish a few things first but i'll hollah when i'm ready cause i'm gonna need your help bringin' the character to life ;)

FlashThompson- Be careful... headbutting twats gets pretty addictive :P

Teabag- Since mine is spagetti thin, can i grab a nostril or an ear???

LEEE- Uh... what? I don't get what you mean there. The winners still have a choice of a portrait of them in their costumes or their choice of actors as their choice of superhero... That's still on. So what am i not getting from your comment???
Shaman - 11/6/2009, 9:02 AM
I love midgets. Especially dipped in chocolate, mmmmmm.
SirPrize - 11/6/2009, 9:04 AM
Shaman: alright then =) fingers crossed. thanks. Just let me know if and when you can...when things get slow for you.. I have all pictures on cd's so thats no problem.

would this help to speed it up? lol! probably not but I thought i'd give it a shot! haha

KeepItReal - 11/6/2009, 9:11 AM
way to go fan fav Norma Jeane! power to the women! haha ok i'm getting carried away, CONGRATULATIONS winners!
Mileena16 - 11/6/2009, 9:13 AM
honorable mention!- I thought I would have won best villian for sure!,ohhh well an honorable mention is great also.

good job everyone,

NOW I CAN WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR!!!!
peterparker420 - 11/6/2009, 9:14 AM
Loved your costume, Norma Jeane, plus what a nice smile. Robin NEVER looked better.

Congratulations to all the winners, and a good job on all the hard work that everyone put into participating in the contest. Lot of imagination out there and talent as well!

Multi: Incredible Captain America, man. Does this mean you're a Super Soldier? ;- )

'Nuff Said!

[Well, maybe not. icongrfx, that is BAD cricket. Part of competing is losing gracefully, and coming back bigger and better the next time. I find your grousing very distasteful.]
bropous - 11/6/2009, 9:16 AM
Shaman@ if thats true ive got a space next to some meat balls :P

KIR@....

teabag - 11/6/2009, 9:24 AM

LEEE777 - 11/6/2009, 9:26 AM
jeez tea that thing is scary :o
Mileena16 - 11/6/2009, 9:32 AM
Here's a little something just for fun :) I'll add a few more to it later on

A question for the masses:

Which categories should we add to the next costume contest:

- Best Couple's Costumes
- Best Action Movie Costume
- Sexiest Costume
- Most Authentic

MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 9:32 AM
Multi - that is fing cool. I like the NorthStar guy.
SirPrize - 11/6/2009, 9:35 AM
Multi@ Very cool indeed :P

SP@ you would like the Northstar guy lol :P
teabag - 11/6/2009, 9:40 AM
@Shaman: Nope, real name is actually not John Sheridan. Its a long story but I do use it sometime.
As for the Londo pic- its just so cool I have to use it as my avatar!
My real name- and plug for my novel ;)- can be found here...

invalensname - 11/6/2009, 9:47 AM

teabag - 11/6/2009, 9:52 AM
lol great costumes lol lol lol loloLOLOLOLOLOL

Dragontardcapri - 11/6/2009, 9:54 AM
multi you should do them all
Mileena16 - 11/6/2009, 9:55 AM
He already has. =P
SirPrize - 11/6/2009, 9:58 AM
@invalensname, Book sounds good mate!
TheAnswer - 11/6/2009, 10:00 AM
@SP: Thanks bud

@Mileena: The thing is, I pay for shipping for all the prizes (as do the other contest creators). This year's 9 are already quite pricey, adding 4 or 5 more would be too much to personally handle. I'm thinking of just having 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and the specialty categories reserved for honorable mentions.
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 10:02 AM
aw poo. ok i think you should do most authentic and best couple's costumes
Mileena16 - 11/6/2009, 10:04 AM
@The Answer: I published it last year. Hardly anyone bought it :( Though if you liked the sound of it, do spread the word!!! Christmas is coming up ;)
invalensname - 11/6/2009, 10:04 AM
@inval: Call Oprah, she might help
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 10:06 AM
@ Poni- ha ha, I seem to have lost her contact details. Next time she calls around for coffee I'll drop a hint ;)
invalensname - 11/6/2009, 10:10 AM
haha @ lee I already made the request the second i found out Jon Hamm for Green Arrow!! Already on top of it hahaha
Set2Fallfirst - 11/6/2009, 10:14 AM
@inval, I'll see what I can do! ;)

TheAnswer - 11/6/2009, 10:30 AM
hey multi next year you should try and make a spartan suit from Halo :p
Mileena16 - 11/6/2009, 10:31 AM
Next yr im shooting for Red Robin or Azreal i dont know yet still trying to figure out how im going to make Azreals mask.

@shaman hahaha i had a dream u were upset about me saying Jon Hamm instead of Josh Halloway that you put a french long curly mustache on the green arrow portrait instead of the goatee...(shutters)

Set2Fallfirst - 11/6/2009, 10:32 AM
Who the hell is voting against having more competitions like this?!?!
TheAnswer - 11/6/2009, 10:32 AM
Answer@ i can think of one person lol

If im up and about next year (Which i should be damnit) im gonna make a Nova costume :P
teabag - 11/6/2009, 10:36 AM
I like the idea of best couples and sexiest costume.

@inval your book looks interesting, I might pick it up.
Stubbyswof - 11/6/2009, 10:37 AM
@Mileena: The next costumes on my agenda are: Deadpool (50% complete), X-Force Archangel (with a 10 ft. metallic winggspan), Maverick and Quicksilver. I've seen enough Halo suits that I'm not really that interested in doing one.
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 10:40 AM
@Tea, hmmm... I wonder. ;)
TheAnswer - 11/6/2009, 10:40 AM
Congrats to all, I am going to toot my own horn, My whole uniform was hand made minus the accessories. I didn't think I would of won anyway. Next year I am going Nate Grey X-Man!
Spock - 11/6/2009, 10:41 AM
Tea hope you are getting better. You always bring laughs with your posts I find your attitude uplifting even though your down physically.

Stubbyswof - 11/6/2009, 10:46 AM
Spock are you thinking current or AOA costume. I'm going for Weapon X and Jean Grey from AOA for me and the wife.
Stubbyswof - 11/6/2009, 10:49 AM
ah ok. can't wait to see archangel. what are you going to use for the wings?
Mileena16 - 11/6/2009, 10:52 AM
@Mileena: Sheet aluminum (alot of it) and pvc for the frame. I'm in the middle of designing the spring loaded harness.
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 10:54 AM
Stubby@ thanks my friend...much apreciated :D
teabag - 11/6/2009, 10:59 AM
@Multi, Could you send me some pics of your wing design? I've been working on mine alot but wondering exactly how to retract the wings once they are out. I have some ideas but wondering struggling to keep the size of the harness down to minimum!
TheAnswer - 11/6/2009, 10:59 AM
@Multi

my top 3 choices for next yr Azreal, Red Robin, black panther OR a bonus contender Swamp thing mostly everything hand made except for some latex facial features. LIke nose, cheek bones and ears. : ] trick is making my costume look constanly wet
Set2Fallfirst - 11/6/2009, 10:59 AM
@Tbag you're my hero hahah
Set2Fallfirst - 11/6/2009, 11:01 AM
haha ok multi all i could think of was you using real metal and walking around destroying everything around you :P
Mileena16 - 11/6/2009, 11:02 AM
@Stubby- great! :)
invalensname - 11/6/2009, 11:06 AM
Set- I'm not angry at all. Hell i was preparin' for the eventuality that LEEE might win and ask me to draw Worthington or Lewis as Cap LOL. Hamm as GA isn't my "fave" but i like it ;) As for your Swamp Thing suit, nope, no obvious Norma Jean jokes. Use some gel or somethin'.

Invalensname- Actually, that sounds like a damn good book!!! I hope people get to send you some cash soon :))

Multi- That's a kick ass Marvel Logo man!!! Very nice :))
Shaman - 11/6/2009, 11:06 AM
@Mileena: Aluminum IS real metal ;) but I'll keep the edges dull just for the sake of your sanity

@TheAnswer: Once I finish the design I'll forward it to your email.

Here's a tip: Use a single point latch (on your hand)to make the wings open, and a tension band on your heel to close them

@Set: Skip Swamp Thing and go for Black Panther, you never see that one around. Then Norma can be Storm
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 11:08 AM
i know multi i was thinking of you trying to weld metal into the shape of wings
Mileena16 - 11/6/2009, 11:11 AM
Set2@ No you won which means your my hero lol...and i agree with multi..Black Panther would be awesome :)
teabag - 11/6/2009, 11:13 AM
Ooooooohhh, Tchalla and Ororo, sounds winning to me ;))

Norma Jean will need a darker tan though...
Shaman - 11/6/2009, 11:16 AM
@Mileena: That's the plan.

@teabag: Actually, he's your villain
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 11:18 AM
@Multi, cheers dude! Btw did you do design or summit like that in Uni or somewhere?

Oh saying as I live in Scotland do you want an address over in america or canada cos I can do that to save you guys some bucks!
TheAnswer - 11/6/2009, 11:23 AM
@Answer: Sure, just email me the address

No, I was a Criminal Justice and English major in college, this is just a hobby that I've been only taking seriously for about a year now.
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 11:24 AM
Great job on those images Poni! This was way cool.
Betty - 11/6/2009, 11:34 AM
hey multi, have you ever heard of cosplay.com? you might want to join it
Mileena16 - 11/6/2009, 11:46 AM
multi- great job on those posters!!
no wonder it took all day(they look great!)

Set2Fallfirst- looks like the best man won...you!

JP - 11/6/2009, 1:06 PM
@Mileena: I was a member of that site last year. It's where I showcases all my Green Lantern pics. For some reason they were all deleted :( But I did u[load my Cap pictures if you want to take a look.

Thanks for the input guys! I'm hoping to do one contest every three months (not all costume related).
MultiPurposePoni - 11/6/2009, 1:47 PM
@Tbag haha Awww shucks

@shaman Haha I had a feeling you numbed yourself up to the fact that LEE might win and as for Lewis as Capp. You won me over Ackles should be Cap. I agree Norma Jeane should get a darker tan. But she told me that she wants to make a wonder woman costume from scratch, and make it sexy....im kinda of wary about the sexy party BUT its cool she wants to have arts and craft time with me.

@multi BLK PANTHER IT IS im going to go for this one :]]

Set2Fallfirst - 11/6/2009, 1:50 PM
@Multi, Bring on more competitions! I really miss the fanart ones that we had a few months ago!
TheAnswer - 11/6/2009, 1:53 PM
Those comic covers and the Marvel logo are fantastic! Great job Multi and kudos for keeping the contest together! I'm so stoked lil' Guy Gardner got a win! Everybody deserves props for joining in, even those who didn't enter, for their kind words and support of one another to make it possible. Supporting one another for something fun and creative is a beautiful thing. We're all geeks and for us to pull together and share characters whether it was for Halloween, cosplay, this contest or whatever, it's been a slice and makes me wish I could get on here more often to participate in the conversations! Much Love!
Benjamin - 11/6/2009, 2:03 PM
@Benjamin, Who you calling a geek?!?! ;)
TheAnswer - 11/6/2009, 2:11 PM
Well Set, i can't wait to see Norma's WW outfit made from scratch!!! Now THAT's gonna kick ass :))

So i guess you should start working on your Martian Manhunter costume or maybe John Stuart! Hawkman could be fun too ;)
Shaman - 11/6/2009, 2:13 PM
I thought about those already and eh im not really keen on Martian Manhunter not yet. Hawkman would be cool but i think ill stick with Black Panther

Multi next year add best couples costume with the exception that the costumes have to be related in some way like ( roger rabbit and jessica rabbit) i mean if ya put luke skywalker and poison ivy together where is the connection.
