Hey all, it’s Khan here! You may or may not know this, but I am the writer of one of this sites favourite weekly articles, “10 Must Haves…” now I’ve done three of those so far and I’m coming up to my fourth edition later this week. So with that in mind, I have been wondering for the past couple of weeks, who will play these characters that I have mention? Who will play Batman or The Flash? Well that’s the reason my new section “Fan-Casting…” has been invented. This will allow me to post more fan-fiction than a 15-year-old boy really should.

Today I have decided to focus on the inevitable Batman reboot. Batman is arguable DC’s most popular character at the moment so it is inevitable that a reboot is being fast tracked. There are three films in this series, the first one is called The Batman while the second is called Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1 and the third and final film is called Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 2. Using my 10 Must Haves For The Upcoming BATMAN Reboot I have come up with a (kinda) new fan cast that I think some of you will enjoy, so grab a Pepsi have a seat and enjoy the ride!

Bruce Wayne/Batman: Matt Bomer

Known For: White Collar, In Time
Character Will Appear In: The Batman, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 2

How do you start off a fan cast? By casting someone who has been cast in the role a hundred times by different fans. What can I say? I love this idea. Bomer is really one of the best actors out right now. I had never seen White Collar until last weekend, I came home from soccer practise and turned the telly on, the show was on and I found myself watching the episode. Bomer is arguably the strong point of that show. Despite looking identical to Bruce Wayne in the comics and TV shows, Matt Bomer has the characteristics and ability to make this Batman the most dangerous Batman yet.

Alfred Pennyworth: Hugh Laurie

Known For: House, Stuart Little
Character Will Appear In: The Batman, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 2

Hugh Laurie has always been my pick for Alfred, I don’t know why. I mean he doesn’t look like a butler; he looks like he could kick your ass if you went out of line. Which is what I want to see, despite negative reviews one of my favourite Batman stories is All Star Batman & Robin, the book reboots Alfred and makes him a kick ass butler, something I want to see. Alas, Hugh is my kick ass butler.

Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing: Dylan O’Brien

Known For: Teen Wolf, The Internship
Character Will Appear In: The Batman, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 2

Dylan O’Brien is one of the best up and coming actors in Hollywood today, his comedic timing and hilarious quips would make him a better Spider-Man than Robin, but I think he could still nail the boy wonder. Robin is a young kid who just lost his parents, the first film in the series focuses on Robin’s revenge and how he finds the man who killed his parents (Deathstroke). I think Dylan would have awesome chemistry with Bomer, and I think O’Brien has the look of Dick Grayson and the acting ability. Dick is a police officer like his counter part in the comics, at the Gotham PD he meets Barbra Gordon.

Vicki Vale: Ashley Greene

Known For: The Twilight Saga
Character Will Appear In: The Batman, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1

I love me some Ashley Greene. I mean despite all of Twilight’s flaws and trust me there are a bunch, Ashley Greene is always one of the positives. With that shit fest over, Greene can now focus her career on getting great roles and I honestly think Vicki Vale could be a great role for her. She has the look down and her acting ability is pretty good, and you know… She’s hot. So I say give her a chance!

Commissioner James Gordon: Brad Pitt

Known For: Se7en, Fight Club
Character Would Appear In: The Batman, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 2

Come one, you had to have seen this coming. I shit you not; Brad Pitt will play Gordon in the real reboot. Anyways, Brad Pitt is my pick to play Gordon, I think an actor of Pitt’s ability could do wonders in the role and if any fan doubts this casting, go watch any of Pitt’s movies. You’ll change your mind pretty quickly.

Lucius Fox: Donald Glover

Known For: Community, The Muppets
Character Would Appear In: The Batman, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 2

Okay, so I have based this casting off of Robert Garlen’s wonderful cast for Batman/Superman: Earth One. His cast features younger actors for the roles of the iconic heroes and allies. I loved his cast and I thought why not make Fox younger? I mean we’ve had the old version now we can have a younger version and if we do the young version, Donald Glover is a must. He is a huge Batman fan and would be honoured to appear in a Batman movie.

Slade Wilson/Deathstroke: Liam McIntyre

Known For: Spartacus
Character Would Appear In: The Batman

So I’ve been seeing Liam cast as Batman a lot lately and I have to disagree. Liam is all-wrong for Batman, but you know what he is right for? The most badass criminal on the face of the Earth Deathstroke. In this universe I would have the idea that Deathstroke killed Dick Grayson’s parents after being hired by The Black Mask. This would give Robin a vendetta that would be explored in a potential Teen Titans movie, in which Deathstroke would return.

Roman Sionis/Black Mask: Luke Evans

Known For: Fast & The Furious 6, Immortals
Character Would Appear In: The Batman

Okay, so I wasn’t the biggest Luke Evans fan… That was until I saw Fast 6, my lord that movie was amazing. Evans played one of the best villains I’d seen in years, he had a clear motive and performed beyond par. So another actor who had been cast as Batman before, but I feel as though they would both excel as villains, which is why I have cast them as you guessed it, villains.

Barbara Gordon (Wife): Mireille Enos

Known For: World War Z, Gangster Squad
Character Would Appear In: The Batman

After seeing World War Z which starred Brad Pitt and miss Enos, I couldn’t not picture these two as Gordon and his wife. They were awesome, so I decided to cast them. While I haven’t seen a whole lot of Enos’s work, from what I’ve seen, it seems like she can pull off the job. So yeah, she’s cast.

Jason Todd/Robin/The Red Hood: Jamie Bell

Known For: The Adventures Of Tintin, The Eagle
Character Would Appear In: Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 2

Red Hood is my favourite Batman villain ever. Which is weird, because Joker is a Batman villain (duh!), but I like Red Hood. Jason Todd has always been a character that fascinates me, from his tortured beginnings to his infamous death. The character is due his movie time, and I feel Jamie Bell is the perfect actor to play him. Although Jamie is older than my Dick Grayson pick, I like the idea of Bruce finding Jason Todd homeless and then taking him in no matter what his age is. In Under The Red Hood Part 1, Jason would die in the climax in a warehouse explosion and then would return as The Red Hood in Under The Red Hood Part 2.

Barbara Gordon: Brie Larson

Known For: 21 Jump Street
Character Would Appear In: Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 2

I don’t like Batgirl. I mean I love Barbara Gordon I just don’t like Batgirl. I think the idea of Batgirl is silly, so in this universe Barbara would not become Batgirl, instead she would become Oracle after The Joker shoots her in the spine during the final act of Under The Red Hood. In this film series, Barbara and Dick would have a relationship and Barbra would work at the police station as a secretary.

The Joker: Elijah Wood

Known For: Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, Maniac
Character Would Appear In: The Batman (Cameo), Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 2

This one… This one is original. Can’t take that from me, you probably could but whatever. I like Elijah Wood, I really do. I think he is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood today, behind Taylor Kitch and Paul Rudd. Elijah Wood has something few actors have nowadays; it’s called “range”. Elijah Wood can be funny, he can do action and he can be creepy and horrific. All of those elements create The Joker. Considering this Joker would be based on Mark Hamill’s Joker, I thought Elijah Wood be perfect (see what I did there).

Dr Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow: John Hawkes

Known For: Winter’s Bone, The Sessions
Character Would Appear In: Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 1, Batman: Under The Red Hood Part 2

Okay I take back what I said earlier; this guy is the most underrated actor in Hollywood. Mr John Hawes was nominated for an Oscar a few years back and last year won an Independent Sprit Award for his role in The Sessions. This guy is the most Scarecrow looking human being you will ever see, he looks like Scarecrow and he isn’t even wearing a mask! Scarecrow’s role in these two films would be similar to Knightfall, where The Joker and Scarecrow work together to burn Gotham to the ground, the two would have a similar idea in these films.

And that’s a wrap. Thanks for reading gents; I hope you found this an enjoyable cast and a bright new take on the Batman character. If you guys liked this, I will be happy to make Fan-Casts for The Flash, Wonder Woman & Green Lantern! so be sure to leave a comment below and chuck us a thumb. I’m Khan and I’m out for now!

I prefer Jack Huston 4 the next Batman over Bomer but ur supporting cast is top notch and Dylan O'Brien whilst I prefer 4 Spidey would make a solid Robin... Overall, nice stuff would like 2 c more of ur casts!

I like all of these except for the Joker and especially Lucius Fox.

I watched Elijah in Maniac. His voice reminds me of the Young Justice version of the Joker.

I like your cast, Khan! The only nitpick a I have are Lucius Fox and somewhat the Joker. I can't see it, but then again I can. My choice would Michael Sheen. Could pull off the classic Joker perfectly!

Nice cast, I think Milo Ventimiglia would be a good Nightwing but he's too old to be Robin.

I like the cast for the most part but, the Batman reboot should not be based on Under the Red Hood. Honestly, it should take place eight months into his career. My take on it is that Batman has been foiling Black Mask's plans for a while now and he gets fed up with it so, he hires Deathstroke to take him out. While this is going on, Batman must use his detective skills and eventually figure out the motives behind the bizarre and grizzly murders left by, the Calendar Man.

Oddly enough, the only one I don't like is Bomer as Bruce.

But seriously though, great cast.

Don Glover as Earth One Fox pleases me, I'm a big Community fan.

Bomer is a boy, not a man imo. Gabriel Macht ftw

There's no denying Matt Bomer makes a great Bruce Wayne, but he doesn't have the gruffness or dark look to pull off Batman. He has to be believable as a creature of the night. Dark, frightning.

A few I like. A few I can roll with. And a few that hurt my soul.

John Hawkes... YES!
Jamie Bell... YES!
Luke Evans... YES!

Hugh Laurie... Sure
Dylan O’Brien... Uh huh
Mireille Enos... Why not?

Elijah Wood... WHA?
Ashley Green... "No She's from Twilight" ~Daniel Craig
Brad Pitt...Uhhhhhhhhhhhh... There is no denying he can act. But... Idk... Him in a comic book movie seems... unlikely...

Matt Bomer... Badass! BUT, he seems small. He's a toned guy, and we KNOW he could pull off Bruce Wayne, and he is 6 feet tall... I just picture Batman being this HUGE guy. If Bomer could bulk up more (he's already cut) and get the body of say... Jason Momoa, then sure. I understand that Bomer is fan favorite. He's not my first choice, but I could roll with him as Batman. Or AT LEAST Bruce

Laurie as Alfred? Yes...

Matt Bomer...know what, not getting the batman vibe from him, Bruce Wayne sure, but for batman he'd have to surprise me.

NO to your commissioner Gordon, just no.
