New Astro Boy Images

New stills from the Astro Boy movie
This was taken from a gladiator action sequence, when Astro Boy is forced to fight an array of Battlebots including Battlebot Samurai. This is the first time that Astro Boy learns his true power.

Created with CG-animation from Imagi Studios, "Astro Boy" is a thrilling tale of a true hero. Set in futuristic Metro City, the film is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist named Dr. Tenma (Nicolas Cage). Powered by positive "blue" energy, Astro Boy (Freddie Highmore) is endowed with super strength, x-ray vision, unbelievable speed and the ability to fly. Embarking on a journey in search of acceptance, Astro Boy encounters many other colorful characters along the way. Through his adventures, he learns the joys and emotions of being human, and gains the strength to embrace his destiny. Ultimately learning his friends and family are in danger, Astro Boy marshals his awesome super powers and returns to Metro City in a valiant effort to save everything he cares about and to understand what it means to be a hero.

These pictures makes me laugh. All we need is that monster truck voice screaming SUNDAY,SUNDAY,SUNDAY! Still it could be a good movie.

You know, it sounds weird but I always thought that an astro boy movie should be live action with a cg astro boy. Ijust like the way that would visually set him apart from the rest of the world.
The movie does look good though.

I'm just hoping that this doesn't turn out like the CGI Ninja Turtles movie did!
Marps2 - 9/1/2009, 2:26 PM
meh, tmnt wasn't that bad, not as good as the first three but a decent addition.
thwhtGuardian - 9/1/2009, 2:45 PM
TMNT CGI sucked took me 3 times not falling asleep to see it!

; D

Glad the next one's Live Action!
LEEE777 - 9/1/2009, 2:55 PM
i admit the end wasn't great but I loved that it followed the original three and wasn't a reboot. The chemistry between the brothers was there and I loved seeing them at leisure in the beginning. I guess tmnt is my g.i. joe lee. I grew up loving them and even the cgi one, though flawed was a decent view. Like I said it isn't the best of the turtles movies nor do I think it matches up to the movies that came out when it did, but i enjoyed it none the less.
And I'm pumped for the live action turtles movie, the digitaly added faces look cool in where the wild things are so I'm excited to see that look on the turtles.
