Since most of you more or less promised to fling dog sh*t at James White, I want you all to see what Sam Ashurst of Total Film thinks about a Bale-Free Batman 3!
Okay, at this point I'm like the mean cheerleader girl who tells one bitchy high school girl what the other bitchy high school girl said about her to merely see the fur fly...that said, I'm okay with it.
Mr. Ashurst of Total Film posted a humorous blog that compares Bale to a "Disney Wolf" and said he can't fight and is probably a "douche."
Ashurst says that they should either go with DiCaprio in "Batman 3," or jump ahead 20 years and have a future showdown with a Clint Eastwood Batman and a Daniel Day-Lewis Joker.
Now, though I believe his article was more or less a joke, I still have to say that DiCaprio is pretty damn over-rated and he should NEVER... EVER... EEEEVVVVEEERRRR go near a comic book movie. Unless it's one wherein he plays a villain who gets killed...painfully.
As for the other suggestion of "Batman 3" taking place in a decade or two from now, that would actually make sense, considering how TDK left off.
BUT...let me be CLEAR...I do not want to see a Bale-Free Batman film...at least not in the Nolanverse Trilogy. I'm sure they will make more. I'm sure that it will be akin to James Bond with new casts and loose continuity, but I want this trilogy to work.
I also have to say, I think Bale's performance in TDK was a little watered-down. In "Batman Begins" he was amazing. I didn't find myself ONCE saying "Okay dude, put on the Batsuit cause you're boring me!" He had crazy intensity in that flick, but in the next one there was something missing. I know most of you will want to stone me for saying that. I'm sorry, it's just how I feel. The movie was amazing and his performance was good...but in Begins it was GREAT!!
