Edgar Wright Is Still Interested In Making An Ant-Man Movie!

The Director of 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World' is still up for making a movie based on the adventures of Ant-Man!
The director has spoken with 'Omelete' about returning to work on the Ant-Man film as soon as his work on “Scott Pilgrim” has finished.

“Ant-Man is something I need to return to,” said Wright. “I wrote a draft before Scott Pilgrim started and it’s kind of on the back burner slightly just because I’ve been busy with this. But it’s something that I have got to return to. I have to do another draft after Scott Pilgrim is done.”

As far as that first draft goes, Wright said that he’s pretty satisfied with his work thus far and is looking forward to penning the next draft.

“When you come away from something it’s good and fun to rework what you’ve already done,” the director confessed. “But I’m very happy with the first draft and we need to get back into business.”

However, with rumours that Ant-Man will feature in 'The Avenger' it seems that a solo film will have to wait until after his Avengers debut.

I'm still interested in NOT seeing it though. Not without the rest of the avengers. Be like watching a full movie of plastic man... i would rather gouge out my eyes out with chop sticks, lay down and piss upwards aiming at my eye sockets.

Have no fear, Josh is here!! I was busy watching Reaper Season 1 online (I cant believe that they cancelled it - its awesome!) Sorry LEE, I didnt see your version when I posted mine! Guess you must have posted it whilst I was writing it! Still, I think its only right that one of us does the right thing and takes the article down...after you. ;)

Seriously though, it doesnt look like CBM are gonna put either of them on the main page so no worries, lol!

Yeah! I saw an ad for season 2 on a tv channel here in the UK and looked at buying season 1 on DVD but they dont sell it here for some reason so ive started watching it on the internet instead! i looked it up on google and its definitely cancelled after season 2 (which i hear ended on a cliffhanger just like bloody My Name is Earl did!) i cant believe the CW cancel a brilliant show like Reaper but keep paying out money to make Snoresville!!!

Mmmmm. Any comic book movie is worth seeing..usually..but Ant Man? Never liked the little [frick]. Hank Pym on the other hand, has some layers. You love to hate that guy. I say just make it a Pym movie and have him be Ant Man and Giant Man at different stages leading into the Avengers

Reaper was alright. Guesse they didn't have enough boring love stories and lack of intense figt scenes. That seems to score you 9 seasons these days.

I disagree, I think Pym has so many different layers to his character, it would more entertaining to see someone like him portrayed on film than ANY two dimensional "vigilante" super hero!

Let's see, a movie starring Pym could have:
Ant-Man, Giant Man, Vision, Ultron, his wife Janet (Wasp), Goliath, Yellowjacket, Wonder-Man, Grim Reaper, etc., etc.

patrick wilson is the ultimate hank pym...he makes a brilliant pseudo-gay nerd who bumbles with hot chicks..as watchmen showed...but he can be that violent kick ass dr jekyll mr hyde im gonna beat my wife kinda guy...longoria for wasp..cuz i can see her getting slapped around for some strange reason...as for a movie..hmm..i dunno if thatz gonna cut it...does antman have good villains?

Hank Pym should definitely be played by Michael Rapaport! A solo movie though should maybe focus on Scott Lang as Ant Man as his origin about stealing the costume to save his daughter could make for a fun movie. Pym could still feature creating Ultron setting him up for Avengers 2 maybe!?

This might of been cool back in the 1960's when the standards of comic heroes were bare minimum - now this just says direct to DVD movie all over it, because I wouldn't waste the money to promote it in theaters or waste the time to upgrade it to blu-ray.

LEE: sorry but Pegg would be an awful choice for Pym! im a big fan of Pegg's (anyone who hasnt seen Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz should ASAP) but he's nothing like Ant-Man! He could play the newest version (Irredemable Ant-Man I think?) but he wouldnt fit Pym or Lang. I doubt that they will use Pym as Ant Man as in The Avengers they will probably have Giant Man first like they did in The Ultimates rather than two small heroes (Ant Man and The Wasp)

EVERYTHING about Antman sucks no matter what actor would portray him. His concept sucks, his suit sucks, he's just as bad as Atom. The Thumbelina thing sucks golf balls through garden hoses. It cannot work if it's not a family film and let's face it, any "family" oriented comic book film would be a disgrace. So yeah, PEGG's actually perfect for a stand alone Antman film. HE SUCKS. As for Rappaport, let him be Giantman in Avengers, period!
