X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Will Apparently Feature 'The Blob'

And you thought this movie was already bursting at the seams with mutants! Though he probably won't feature very heavily, it seems Fred J. Dukes, AKA The Blob, will indeed be throwing his weight around in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse. Click on for the skinny..

According to the Instagram (via CB) post below, The Blob will appear in X-Men: Apocalypse. Exactly what Benjamin Malartre Bureau was doing on the set of the film we're not sure, but apparently he spent time with the actors playing Angel, Mystique, Nightcrawler, Beast, and our massive immovable friend.

This character actually appeared in X-Men: Origins Wolverine as played by The Strain actor Kevin Durand, but instead of having his comic book counterparts mutant abilities he just... ate a lot. Don't expect a fat-suit or CGI this time though, as according to Bureau the actor playing Dukes in Apocalypse is an unnamed "540 lbs French-Canadian dude."

Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men: Apocalypse stars Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), with Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), with Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse) and many others. The movie opens on May 27, 2016.

@Nomis

And that's a damn shame considering the Ultimate line started out so strong with Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate FF and and The Ultimates.

Which all went to crap (except for Spider-Man).

The ultimate comic line was good up until the point of Ultimatum, okay?

The Ultimates and around the first 50 issues of Ultimate Spider-Man, F4 and X-men are all amazing.

Ultimatum is a giant turd that never should have happen, it basically killed the Ultimate universe, the majority of the interesting characters all died, so after it there was not much to go on.

To this day it still pisses me off, not many comic books can do that.

Also:
yay for The Blob may he have a better part than in Wolverine Origins.

The worst thing was AFTER Ultimatum. The line was pretty much dead and despite Miles and some cool Avengers stories by Millar and Hickman, the line was pretty much a zombie that noone cared about anymore

Sweet! The X-Universe is better than it has ever been right now, can't wait to see them tackle characters like the Blob and other mutants that we haven't seen in a while/before.

Good point about Blob's powers in X-Men Origins. Seriously, pretty much the entirety of Team X's powers were just as confusing. Like what were Wade's powers? The mutant ability to use kung-fu? Agent Zero? Jumping, and shooting stuff? Those aren't [frick]ing powers!

I'm surprised that there isn't a article of the news that Tom Holland is in Germany filming scenes for Captain America: Civil War.
