ARROW HUNTS DOWN SHRAPNEL — Oliver must tackle a new threat to the city when bombs start to go off in Starling City. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) discovers the person setting them off is Mark Sheffner (guest star Sean Maher), a man who goes by the nickname Shrapnel. Arrow discovers Shrapnel’s next target is Sebastian Blood’s (guest star Kevin Alejandro) “Unity Rally” and tries to talk the alderman out of hosting it, but he refuses. Arrow sets off to stop the bombing, but Shrapnel tricks him and traps him in a bomb-laced antique store where he is unable to move without setting off the device. While Felicity helps Oliver, Diggle (David Ramsey) races to the plaza to find the bomb before it goes off. Meanwhile, Roy (Colton Haynes) continues to hide his new strength from Thea (Willa Holland) but, after she witnesses his super strength in action at the rally, she demands answers. Laurel’s (Katie Cassidy) suspicions about Sebastian grow stronger once she learns that he grew up with Cyrus Gold, the man who killed Lance’s (Paul Blackthorne) partner. After Donner (guest Star Dylan Bruce) refuses to help her investigate, she turns to Arrow (Stephen Amell) for help. Rob Hardy directed the episode written by Jake Coburn & Keto Shimizu (#210).

Arrow returns from mid-season hiatus on January 15th.

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

Shrapnel is a pretty obscure character with a nice design. However, he doesn't have much of a background so it'll be interesting to see how the show approaches this character.

HMM THE SUPERHUMAN ELEMENT WAS INTRODUCED..THIS SHRAPNEL HAS LITTLE KNOWN HISTORY MAKING HIM A GREAT CHARACTER TO FLESH OUT, IT WILL BE INTRESTING TO SEE HOW THEY DO THIS GUY, IF WE SEE A BEING COMPOSED OF LIVING ORGANIC METAL SHARDS THAT WOULD BE COOL..IF YOUR HERO IS FORMIDABLE GIVE HIM HARDER VILLAINS TO STOP.

It's a smart move to use a low level super villain to introduce super powers on Arrow. They can develop Shrapnel and make him a recurring super nemesis on the show. Arrow really kicking it to another gear.

@Zordan it's simple...they will not do cgi. Shrapnel will probably look like a human with a bunch of shrapnel scars.

That actually is pretty funny. You do have a point on some of those things. Though, not everyone in this show is a member of the League of Assassins.

Malcolm Merlyn
Black Canary (Sarah)
A couple of members that have shown up

Which is comicbook accurate, Merlyn has always been an archer for them and though Black Canary has never been a member, they are a common among her rouges gallery.

Settle down children. goatman is just being funny. He doesn't have to watch the show, just as you don't have to read his comments. But, the childish "you don't like it, so go" routine is getting old.

@grif and everyother troll.

If you don't like the show, why are you watching it?

Also, why are you on this thread?

"yeah, and baron von who? was EPICZ!! right?"

You obviously have never followed Captain America comics. That comment pretty much reveals your lack of knowledge of CAP's rogue gallery.

Villain...yes. Super Villain? Really? To each their own, but I consider a super villain to be the likes of Doomsday, Darkseid, Braniac, Joker, even Solomon Grundy is an above average villain (depending on what they do with him), probably not a super villain though. Firefly is just an average villain as far as I am concerned.

2 things that always upset me on this site.
1. Grif and myself have been members of this site alot longer than more than half of you new guys. So, isnt everyone on this site an internet troll? We troll the site for information and make comments. Stupid to call a senior member a troll.
2. If everyone is so damn hellbent on grammar and proof reading, why not create ur own blogging page, error free of course. The majority of ppl on this site are typing on the go via tablets and phones, reason being we have to work, and we get little breaks to comment on the subjects we like. We cant be in front of a monitor 24/7, we haves lives. Makinking fun of someones grammar whilst knowing what they are saying with said grammar shows ur ignorance.

Well, it's a very apparent fact here for those of us who have been here for a long time that the trolling and disrespect of other members here has only occurred over the last couple years. Many of the newer members have demonstrated that they have no clue what a troll actually is. So, yes the veteran members here know what respecting other's opinions is about because we saw it happen on a daily basis here without any of the crap that occurs on here now. That isn't saying some of the new members don't deserve respect, but it is a large portion of the newer members who have taken this site downhill and why most of the veterans don't hang out here anymore,

@joblin, kid I dont want nor need your respect. Face this fact, you can talk big while typing, only on the internet. But ppl like u who scream get a life, that only makes u that much smaller. We all have lives, this site is but a hobby. But moraly, would u can someone who is older and In front of ur face to freak off? If so, I feel sorry for ur mother, because she didnt attempt to raise you correctly. Theres no rank on this site, this is a news medium for ppl who love comicbooks, comicbook movies, and cool ass sci fi movies.
There is no way to rank up here kid, we are all the same. I am speaking on behalf of the members who can discuss topics that they enjoy, we geek out here because we were around when comicbook stores were still a hit. These past years in the movie business have been the best years of our lives. Do u know why? Its because we can finally see our comics come to life. The sound of wolverines claws, the sound of spidermans webshooters, and ironmans armor on the big screen. We dreamt of it and love it. Man of steel finally showed us why superman is the strongest, or why batman is the man. But to express our only to have a kid tell us opinions are dumb, that rubs me the wrong way. Do u know what an opinion is? If so, then shut up and let ppl express themselves, AN OPINION ISNT WRONG NOR RIGHT. Just chill and have fun on this site. Dont make enemies, because we all come from all walks of life, u dont know who u might be pissong off. Dont u understand that this site has the potenial to move hollywood itself, if we all band together for an open casting, we can choose which actor gets to be cast as our heroes on screen. Just like Paul Rudd. Just forget u read my screen name that way I wont curse ur birth online, now u have 2wks before u fo back to school, so go out and have some fun son.

@ Almight

Huh! You seem kinda butt hurt for no obvious reason. I would rather take a Nolanized villain than no villains or characters out of the comics errrrr like that other over hyped show.
