Spidey Hangs On For Dear Life In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Set Photos; Plus New Set Videos

Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 continued filming in New York City today, as the director tries to add some Spidey stunts to the Rhino chase scene. One set of images that is quite tantalizing involves the wall crawler hanging on to a police vehicle.

Suit looks good, the rest of the movie looks like shit though. Really Marc Webb...rhino boxers? I felt like I just stumbled into a Saturday morning cartoon trying to get some cheap laughs here and there just looking at that. I am just afraid everything is just going to look so cartoonish and goofy in the movie. They got the suit right but to me they haven't proven they can get a good steady story right. How does Electro an electrician and Rhino some mobster fit in the same movie together as villains? Can easily be explained in comics but when it comes to film they have to condense down both of their origins with the limited script frame which has to fit the movie. Not only that but it still has yet to explain shit about Peter Parker's parents. Not only that somehow Oscorp ties into this also still as it had a huge role in the first film. Not only that you have Spider-Man and a whole bunch of side characters in the same movie.

It's like they are just rushing to build an entire Spider-Man platform/universe. I just don't like the way things are going with this.

Weird. In 2nd video, it looks like Spidey in full suit crouched down, then a guy in just the bottom half of Spidey suit sitting up.

as much as i love what they done with this movie so far, I'm a little concerned

- Kurtzman and Orci [frick]ed up Into Darkness pretty well
- too many villains ( a cluster[frick] of villains, to be more precise)
- Spiderman suit is not growing on me, sorry.

I must give kudos to Webb for leaving MJ out of this.
Good thinking, Marc.

People forget this is Spidey. Saturday morning cartoon? Excuse me, have you ever read a Spidey comic? Yanking down a thug's pants to reveal his colorful boxers is the epitome of classic Petey. He's a sarcastic prankster. Do you not remember Ultimate Alliance's "I hope we're fighting super-models this time!" line?

Spidey is an immature teen that likes his fun and enjoys it too...

If you don't like that suit then you don't like Spider-Man.
That's the comic book costume pretty much & nothing is better than that classic look.

@TheGambit

Do you know how silly that would look in live action, are you kidding me. It would make the film look like some dumbed down kids flick. Concept works in the comics or a cartoon but not in live action for god sake. They might as well add in a bunch of fart jokes in there too while they are at it. He could be sarcastic but not to the point where it gets overly cartoony for the film. I was even cringing at the jokes in the car robber scene in TASM. May have worked in a comic or in script but not in live action. That was ridiculous.

If Spider-Man's humor is going to be dumbed down to this level of doucheness they should not even try anymore.

The suit is truly perfect! It is the only comic book movie costume in recent times that is identical to that of it's printed version. I am very much looking forward to seeing this come to life on the big screen!

@FullMetalJacky lol then don't watch it . If you like serious movies go see the dark knight rises with Jo comedy or the new crappy man of steel! Spidey has a sense of humor unlike you! He's kinda like tony stark a little smart ass but its funny ! That's how spidey has always been since the 90's cartoons! And it's great you are in the minority . And if u don't like it don't watch it 100's of other millions will watch it

@TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM- Except this is a movie and not a cartoon. Audiences expect their comic book movies to take themselves a little more seriously than kid's shows.

Right. So all of Peter Parkers character, his sense of humor and everything that makes Spider-Man fun should be taken out of the movie because people wont take it seriously. I'm not saying they need to throw Joke after Joke after joke into the movie *ahem ahem Iron Man 3 *ahem ahem. But if he jokes around every once and a while it will seperate him from most Superheroes.

That bridge scene was pathetic, so you have a whole bunch of cars dangling down. Web can snap any minute now...So many potentially trapped people screaming for their damn lives, and your just going to take your slow damn time to focus on this one kid in this one car. For [frick] sake just reach in the car and web him up. It was god damn unnecessary for all of that, just a pointless dramatic scene. He ends up webbing him up ANYWAY when the web eventually snaps. Congrats for also taking off your mask now the kid knows your secret identity, not going to bring up that again are you. After all that he just looks at that guy then swings away leaving all the other cars dangling by his web WTF. How do you know there isn't another potential person stuck in another car. What is the point. So many things I can needlessly say that was wrong with that entire scene. Just a pointless gimmicky dramatic moment in the wrong place at the wrong time.

PsychoManiacJacky - 6/22/2013, 6:59 PM
What about the other cars ahaha. He could have just webbed the kid up and webbed his arms to keep him from fighting no trouble at all. When it comes to a scene like that you have to think about the potential danger and think fast. He even did put the kid in danger when the car randomly set on FIRE. The kid could have died. Just web him up and put him on the bridge. For [frick] sake this could have been avoided.
