According to Jeff Sneider of The Wrap, screenwriter Michael Green has been hired to write the Prometheus sequel. He'll be taking over for Jack Paglen (“Transcendence”) who wrote the original draft. When will we see this film? Well, the other day Fox announced that an untitled Ridley Scott film will be released March 4, 2016, and sources for The Wrap have verified that the date is for Prometheus 2. The sequel is said to be a priority as Fox is ignoring all the criticism that was placed on the original and just staring at the $400 million the R-rated film grossed worldwide. As for Green, he worked on screenplays for Green Lantern, The Flash (film), Smallville, Heroes, and is still finishing the new Blade Runner script that he began working on last year for Ridley Scott.
Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba and Charlize Theron
Director: Ridley Scott * Writers: Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof

I loved the first one (mostly for Ridley's direction), but I agree it was unnecessarily "mysterious" in parts and the characters all acted like retards. I hope they improve on it this time around.

Before you all bitch about them hiring a Green Lantern writer, the script went through about 4 other writers as well which is always disastrous.

From bad, to worse. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Neither movie was good.

Whatever though...I'm still hyped up over X-men and seeing Bishop in that hot trailer.

And a casting call, and a interview with Goyer, matti. Why are you so [frick]ing foul over DC matters?

Didn't think I could lose any more interest. I didn't like the first Prometheus. Now The GL writer is on board? Wow. A new level of unappealing.

PROMETHEUS was a step in a better direction for the series, but it was decidedly not a home run. (I'm looking at you, one-dimensional alien-bait characters!)

I'm amazed it took more than 25 years to make an ALIEN movie that wasn't a total spit in the face to the first 2 movies in series. I recognize that by writing that I'm only inviting the PROMETHEUS haters, but what the hell...

This movie is incredibly underrated as it was compared too much to Alien/ Aliens. The CGI was outstanding, as was the cast. I'm all for expanding the story, so bring it on!

Prometheus was an insult to the intelligence of a tree stump. The second one would have to be literally, pardon the expression, light-years better to get me to go see it.
