Jon Favreau On The Possibility Of Robert Downey Jr. Returning For IRON MAN 4

Not that he actually knows anything for certain, but during a video interview for his new movie Chef the Iron Man 2 director says that he's about to go pay a visit to the Avengers: AOU set, and that he'd like to see RDJ return to the role...as long as he still fits in the suit!

There's still nothing set in stone regarding a fourth solo outing for Marvel's Iron Man, but with the third installment making so much coin it's definitely a strong possibility at some point. Would it still be Robert Downey Jr. under the helmet though? Well after Avengers: Age Of Ultron we really don't know what's on the cards, but one man who definitely thinks he should have another blast in the suit is RDJ's former Iron Man director Jon Favreau. In the following interview with Flicks And The City, Favreau talks about once again working with Downey Jr. and Scarlet Johansson on his new movie Chef, and the likelihood of the former playing Tony Stark in a fourth Iron Man film.

You'll notice the interviewer doesn't ask Favreau if he'd have any interested in returning to helm a fourth outing -- though if he's visiting their set, relations can't be that bad between he and Marvel. Would you like to see him direct the next Iron Man? Or is the franchise in better hands with Shane Black? Sound off in the usual place.

RDJ as Iron Man is the second-best casting choice for a comic book character ever. The first being Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

So it seems Favreau is signed on for IM4. Let's hope they get RDJ and whip up a great script.

If they do make an IM4, I wanna see Madame Masque as the main villain.
It's sad that we don't have a big bad female villain in the MCU. They're always the "minions" or second string to the male villains.

They'd definitely need to step up their game.
Thor 2 and IM3 were bad. Especially with Captain America 2 being so freaking good, Marvel needs to take more care with their other sequels

@GamerKT

But the great thing about it is that he's in a CGI iron suit. RDJ ageing isn't a problem just yet, not like other heroes like Jeremy Renner, Hemsworth and Chris Evans.

@JordanKnight

The production of it was great, but the story fell flat for me, it had a lot of unnecessary moments and moments that should've been developed further. All the others you mentioned are terrible movies not just bad.

The only real problem I had with Iron Man 3 was the ending. I felt like they spent too much time elsewhere, and were left with two minutes for a 10 minute scene.

I did like the "You create your own demons" thing. nice way to set up Ultron

RDJ should play Tony until he's at least 60.

I love IM3 so much that I don't want to see an IM4. The movie had such a perfect ending to the RDJ Iron Man series.

Iron man 3 was ..good. It was an entertaining action comedy, but it wasn't anything more than than. Compare it to Cap 2.

Nuff said.

Hate on RDJ all you want, but he he helped open up the doors for more CBMs.

@Manitium

Shane Black had freedom to do what he wanted, is that what you want instead? /sarcasm

Not really feeling another Iron Man film unless its a team up and I don't mean War Machine or even Black Widow. If Marvel really is tentative on a Hulk movie then team up Banner and Stark. Iron Man/Hulk team up movie ? they'd be sweeping up box office dollars
