When people cosplay, I'm happy they do cause it's also a way of promoting the medium In a (usually) positive way. This young woman dressed up as a classic villain and that's really a cool thing, and people are just ripping her apart just because they wanna crap all over someone....just....damn.

Still doesn't do much for me, althought the costume isn't too bad. Damn, appearantly that means I'm either
a) hateful just for the sake of it

or even all of the above. Two of those aren't even bad things, and last I checked none of them were true for me. Guess it's time for me to be confused... or for other people to realize that there are *gasp* differing opinions and tastes. ^^

Nope, because you can have a difference of opinion or taste without slamming a person or cutting them apart.

If you go out of your way to pick a person apart who really is dressing up to play the role of a character, then that's not a difference of opinion, that's being a spiteful.

If you like the costume and not her, then it doesn't hurt to say " the costumes is cool" and leave it at that. To say the costumes OK then go on to slam the looks and the physical appearance state of the person wearing it is at least hateful if not catty (I see females cut each other apart like this all the time....not sure what it is when guys do it to females though).

But you know what? This is my bad. I like to the articles here, but really should have stopped readtng the comments (hell, I've stopped reading comments in other news- type media long ago, don't know why I kept reading stuff here). I guess I liked conversing amongst other fans about comics, the movies, the cos players, the cartoons and the timer, etc. but shit, I'm an old man (47) if this is something that bugs me, then as an adult I have to be the one to deal with it properly, and for me that's gonna have to be avoiding the comments section.
