"The Night Projectionist" Comic Coming to the Big Screen

The story takes place on Halloween Eve in a small-town movie theater, where an all-night Draculathon draws throngs of moviegoers who suddenly find themselves locked inside the theater, which is slowly filling with vampires.

Myriad Pictures is reteaming with comicbook publisher Studio 407 to bring the horror series "The Night Projectionist" to the bigscreen.

"Projectionist" marks the second title produced under Studio 407's first-look deal with Myriad -- the first being the comicbook "Hybrid," which is tentatively scheduled to begin production later this year.

Myriad's recent credits include the Catherine Zeta-Jones starrer "Death Defying Acts" and the biopic "Kinsey." The financing, production and foreign sales outfit has also enjoyed box-office success in the horror genre with such pics as "Jeepers Creepers 2."

The first issue of "The Night Projectionist" miniseries will hit shelves in February.

Wow, this is worse than Kick Ass, at least they had a few issues out before someone decided to make a movie about it.

Sounds kind of interesting, so long as the whole series doesn't pan out in a movie theatre, because that would be lackluster don't ya think?

I'm going to wait until a movie is in pre production then I'll make a comic about it and it will be the same situation as this garbage.

This smacks of the speculative investments on comics in the early 90's. I guess history does repeat itself.

Give "Powers" a movie! Give "DMZ" a movie! Give "Criminal" or "Fallen Angel" a movie! I know they are from bigger labels (Icon and DC) but come on, at least make something from something that's been published already!
