After the recent relaunch announcements to Civil War, Age of Ultron VS. Marvel Zombies, Secret Wars, Planet Hulk, Years Of Future Past and Armor Wars, Marvel's hit the reboot button on yet another series, this time being House of M. Above you can see a teaser image, featuring Magneto leading a team of mutants (including the currently dead Wolverine) and other superheroes such as Daredevil and Hulk. Much like the other teases, we don't know much about the relaunch, but the original 2005 series was written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Olivier Coipel, So we'll have to see what happens. Thats House of M Wolverine, as well as all of the other characters. He's not coming back yet.

I think this all ties into the Secret Wars event. Maybe these versions of the characters are in the crossover?...

I got out of regular comic book reading a few years ago & it seems I picked a good time.
First DC went stupid with the New 52 stuff, read most titles for first year & it wasn't as good as before.

Marvel was getting weak also, only kept buying a few titles..now they do this?
If they can't create new & exciting stories/events then how will they recycle it later? (sarcasm)
Game Over Man.

I think they are just starting to hype an event that is somehow going to link all of these together with a common thread that hasn't been addressed yet. I'm curious to see where this marketing campaign goes, but I doubt it'll end up on my pull list.

Marvel Comics: The House of No New Ideas...

My theory: Marvel is rebooting the whole universe.

The problem is, when DC rebooted with New 52, they lost years of continuity and characters. And the characters they didn't want to wait years to reintroduce, they just assumed you already knew the new continuity of (e.g. rather than waiting for Dick Grayson to be introduced as Robin, grow up, become Nightwing, then introduce Jason Todd, kill him off, then bring him back as the Red Hood; all of that has already happened, too bad if you wanted to know how that continuity had been altered). Some big events were written out of continuity, and other major events still happened. It was pretty confusing.

I think Marvel is going to streamline the process. I think they're rebooting all their major events they still want in continuity. They're going to release all those events at once when they reboot the whole universe. That way, the reader won't have to question what's still in continuity and what's changed, and they can jump right in with the new status quo.

Think that's plausible?

So is this a retcon or a complete reboot of Marvel comics? I love all the original arcs, so I hope this is not retcon. House of M, Civil War, and Secret Invasion impacted the comics universe, truly great arcs in my opinion.

Sidenote, who owns the film rights to Breakworld? Fox or Marvel?

What the [frick] is Marvel thinking??
royroy

i wish marvel would give us a little hint of what's going on. i think it's a reboot or at least some kind of change of past events. but who knows? i doubt they are just revisiting past events without it having to do with the timeline breaking and the incursions.
