If only he didn't look like a [frick]ING Robo-Bunny then this would be a 10/10 read. But it brings it down to a 9/10 for me.

"ughhh i'm so sick of this jim gordon batman thing.... BRUCE WAYNE IS BATMAN....no one else…"

L.O.L.

Jim's only been Batman for less than a month while Bruce has been Batman for 75 years and counting…

It's a damn story arc. Bruce will be back.

I like how the first page is mocking the complaining fanboys.

I really love this story. Watching down-to-Earth Jim Gordon struggling to fill the shoes of a superhero-- one that he's respected and admired for years, and considers his friend-- has made for an INCREDIBLY compelling character arc. Snyder's been hitting all the right notes, defusing the criticisms early while building up a brilliant foundation for the book going forward.

And unlike, say, the Superior Spider-Man (where Peter Parker was replaced with a scumbag supervillain who couldn't restrain his exploitative, violent tendencies despite a seemingly genuine desire to be a hero), this Batman is a character we already know and love as a hero, who may actually be a MORE moral and honorable man than Bruce Wayne-- so there's not that ugly issue of replacing the hero with someone unsuited to the role. If ANYONE has what it takes to be the new Batman, it's Jim Gordon.

Scott Snyder is doing something new and interesting while still working in the story he is telling. The bat-suit looks weird because it's an element of the story. The story itself is about Jim Gordon and what Batman stands for and I love it. Also, when can I buy that Gordon Batman figure?

@TheFox thank you for understanding the point of the book. I think Snyder is doing a great job and is going in a logical place after what he's been doing for the past 40 issues

That Bat-Suit/Mecha looks like a mix between Robo-Cop and Chappie.

I hate Gordon has Batman, but Snyder and Capullo have done amazing work with Batman. Hopefully Bruce comes back soon.

I'll keep reading because Snyder and Capullo have earned the right to tell any story they want, but I hope Jim isn't Batman for too long. And I want to find out what happened to Bruce.

People eating this up tend to be the ones who will jump ship first when they hear about the sales slump, no one wants to be the last guy reading a hated book. Then we get to hear DC talk about how it was a best seller, then you see phonebook thick stacks of new Batman and Superman comics on shelves in comic shops.

You summed up exactly what I was thinking. They've earned the right to do this, and I trust them unconditionally. My hope for this storyline is that it's heading towards some kind of epic return for Bruce, and a showdown with one of the villains they haven't featured yet.

@nivekian

I look at these books like I do with my teams. There's going to be good years and bad years, personnel decision you don't agree with, shit that makes you want to give up, but in the end you stick with them. That's how I endured two decades of the Pirates being garbage.

The people that quit a book over one story arc are the same type of people that swore off the Steelers after they decided to keep Antonio Brown over Mike Wallace.

Wow. Everyone disgusts me. More than half of these commenters probably didn't even read Batman #41. They make all the jokes that you guys are complaining about. Jim himself says it looks like a bunny.

And a spoiler: Bruce Wayne is alive. But it's a mystery how.

Eh its an interesting idea, but for me Gordon will always be the Commissioner. I could see this working as an elseworlds story, but personally it doesnt sit well for me in main batman canon.

maybe I am just getting old and out of touch with the kids these days but the direction marvel and dc are both going right now hold absolutely no appeal to me what so ever. So many people liked The new 52 stuff but I really haven't had anything except for a couple of story arcs that I have liked. I didn't like court of owls, which people loved. Most others that people liked as well. same thing on the marvel side to. Hoo hum my old age.
