Now, it’s being reported that Paramount Pictures CEO Brad Grey has told Entertainment Tonight that, if the movie does do well, Paramount will greenlight a sequel for the same week, two years from now, in 2010.
Just what Iron Man will rake in over this opening weekend is unsure, but projections of over $100 million are already starting to float around. So, though The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader holds the “first weekend of the summer” for May 7, 2010, maybe we can pen in Iron Man 2 for a week earlier.
Either way, this is good news, for a film that set itself up several sequel opportunities in its first date with moviegoers.
