As filming continues on Paramount's highly-anticipated Mission: Impossible 7, director Chris McQuarrie has shared an awesome new shot of his 3x Academy Award-nominated star Tom Cruise (Top Gun: MaverickMission: Impossible - Fallout) hanging off the side of a train as he prepares to shoot an action scene as Ethan Hunt.

While plot details remain locked away in the IMF vault, this new stunt is just the latest in a long line of death-defying sequences Cruise has performed throughout the course of the franchise, and seems to be a spiritual successor - and very obvious callback - to the extended train sequence from the finale of Cruise's first Mission: Impossible in 1996.

Also, thanks to Just Jared, we have a ton of new set photos of both Cruise and co-star Hayley Atwell filming across Yorkshire.

In addition to Cruise as the headliner, the highly anticipated McQ-directed action blockbuster will also see the return of Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Academy Award-nominee Vanessa Kirby as the White Widow, and Academy Award-nominee Angela Bassett as Erika Sloane.

Newcomers to the franchise include the aforementioned Hayley Atwell (Avengers: EndgameCaptain America: The First Avenger), Pom Klementieff (Avengers: Endgame; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Shea Whigham (Perry Mason; Marvel's Agent Carter), Henry Czerny (Mission: ImpossibleSupergirl), Esai Morales (TitansLa Bamba), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2Hobbs & Shaw), Charles Parnell (Top Gun: MaverickTransformers: Age of Extinction), Indira Varma (Game of ThronesCarnival Row), Mark Gatiss (The FatherThe Favourite), and Cary Elwes (The Princess BrideSaw).

Mission: Impossible 7 lights the fuse in theaters on May 27, 2022; followed by Mission: Impossible 8 on July 7, 2023.

This camera angle does many favors for McQuarrie.

I really want to see Luther throw just a few hard hitting punches in this movie. He's never involved in the fight scenes.

I get the feeling Ferguson dies early on in this one. Only stuff I've seen is with him and Atwell
