Following the news of a mammoth runtime that very nearly rivals Avengers: Endgame, two new posters have now been released for The Batman. As you can see below, the first takes us up close and personal with the Dark Knight and features a cool new tagline: "Unmask the Truth."

Trailers for the movie have suggested that The Riddler figures out who Gotham City's Caped Crusader is (check out the latest TV spot here), but we're sure this could have multiple meanings.

In the second poster, The Bat and The Cat stand side-by-side in surprisingly sunny surroundings. Seeing those two together drives home how closely Matt Reeves appears to be sticking to the source material as they both look like they've been torn from the pages of the comic books. The hope is Catwoman will eventually get a proper costume, but the anti-hero still looks like a badass here.

The Batman finds the Caped Crusader in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting.

Joining Pattinson in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4.

Correction: Zoë actually is wearing a proper Catwoman costume, with a whip. Zoë's a beautiful woman, so I'm glad they decided to not have her wear the ski mask too much.

It’s a small thing but I’ve always liked it when he is referred to as The Batman, which the great Denny O’Neil revived when he brought the Batman back to his darker and more serious roots. So looking forward to this flick.

@RolandD - I don’t think it’s a small thing at all. It’s all about tone. “Batman” sounds like he’s everybody’s pal: “Hey look, there goes Batman…”, whereas “The Batman” sounds like a name given to him by the press or police. It sounds legendary and notorious. An unfamiliar other. “Who is the Batman…?” I also prefer the idea that he didn’t name himself. That’s why the “I’m vengeance…” line really works for me. It’s just like “I’m bad news for you…” It’s everyone else who needs him to have a name; he’s got no use for it.

@NinnesMBC - It stood out to me when I saw it on twitter .. it looked like a reflection of something, thought it was a clue then when I zoomed in, saw it was a question mark. I'm digging it.
