Wait, people thought Rob zombies Halloween 2 was an...improvement? I mean, if anything I find the opposite. Anyone I ask tends to say the first remake was a surprisingly good retelling of the original whereas the sequel was an incoherent mess.

@Origame - Some do, yeah. Even some people whose opinions I (usually) respect. I thought it was a joke!

Except for the high up placement of the RZ sequel, I mostly agree.

I’ve never seen on Halloween film. However, they really need to let Mike Flanagan make his version of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

@BreakTheCode - I have seen em all but the latest couple. I’ll wait for the trilogy and watch all 3. Still I was def more of a Freddy, Jason, and Chucky kid than a Michael Myers kid. If they made a Freddy vs Jason vs Ash show, like the comic, I’d be all over that

@TheWalkingCuban - Yeah I’m more of a Freddy and Jason guy.

I don’t count Rob Zombie’s movies as part of this franchise. They’d be at the bottom if I did; just a different kind of thing. Curse of Michael Myers is terrible I don’t get the guilty pleasure angle either. I have all the Blu Rays and am excited to watch Season of the Witch and Resurrection which I’ve never seen. Also excited for Halloween Kills because I enjoyed 2018 a lot. Even if it’s stupid and dumb fun/Michael obliterating people, I will probably still have a good time with it because the bar is so low for this franchise that I’ve come to accept the bad with the good. Some of the sequels are so bad they’re fun to watch.

Just had a Halloween marathon last week, so they're fresh on my mind, unfortunately most are as bad as I remember. Still need to see Halloween Kills.

1978
Zombie 1
Halloween 2
Halloween 4

Halloween 2018

Then the rest.

Resurrection was abysmal. It was the worst thing I had seen in a very long time.

Note! IMO only the #1 is a masterpiece. The rest, at best, are entertaining slashers and they start to get bad after #5 or #6.

1. The Original
2. 2018
3. H4
4. Season of the Witch
5. H2 (the first one)
6. Kills
7. H5
8. H20
9. H6
10. Zombie's Halloween
11. Zombie's H2
12. Resurrection

Never cared for this franchise. I thought the first is a really solid home invasion movie that makes good use of its minimalist budget. I also thought the 2018 was an entertaining follow up. Everything else is sort of crap.

I love how Halloween Kills has the Season of the Witch masks in it.

As I stated on another thread, anybody ripping on Halloween Kills should go back and watch most of these sequels. It's The Godfather compared to most of them. Kills is heavy handed and a little goofy but I really enjoyed it. Hope Halloween Ends nails the landing.

Well since everyone else is doing it, I'll put my rankings in too I guess lol:

Halloween ('78)
Halloween ('18)
Halloween 4
Halloween H20
Halloween II ('81)
Halloween 5
Halloween ('07)
Halloween 3: Season of the Witch
Halloween 6
Halloween Resurrection
Halloween II ('09)

I haven't seen Halloween Kills yet, but from the sounds of the reviews & stuff, I suspect it'll end up falling somewhere between Halloween 5 & H20 for me.

Just give me the original Halloween I and II then the most recent two - HK was WAY [frick]ing better than I expected.

LOVE Halloween III - killing the kid with head snakes [frick]ed me up at age 13 but it's a standalone and should be judged as such.

The rest are all just cluster[frick]ed cashgrabs that run together in my mind like a 13 hour VHS tape.

I'm actually looking forward to Halloween Ends
