After getting a new look at our three returning heroes last week, Paramount Pictures has now shared nine additional character posters and a new featurette from Scream, offering chilling looks at the film's long line of victims/suspects.

The second batch of posters spotlight Melissa Barrera (Vida; Dos Veces Tú) as Sam Carpenter, Dylan Minnette (Prisoners13 Reasons Why) as Wes Hicks, Jasmin Savoy Brown (The LeftoversFor The People) as Mindy Meeks-Martin, Jenna Ortega (Jane the Virgin; Iron Man 3) as Tara Carpenter, Jack Quaid (The BoysThe Hunger Games) as Richie Kirsch, Mason Gooding (BooksmartLove, Victor) as Chad Meeks-Martin, newcomer Sonia Ammar as Liv McKenzie, Mikey Madison (Once Upon a Time... In HollywoodBetter Things) as Amber Freeman, and Marley Shelton as Sheriff Judy Hicks.

Curiously missing is Kyle Gallner (Smallville; American Sniper), who's expected to appear as a character named Vince, so that should be something to monitor.

They all join returning horror icon Neve Campbell, reprising her role as Sidney Prescott, and her longtime franchise co-stars Courteney Cox and David Arquette, who are both set to return as Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley. Roger L. Jackson will also be back to voice Ghostface.

Radio Silence duo Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Ready or Not) directed the fifth installment with a screenplay from James Vanderbilt (Zodiac; The Amazing Spider-Man) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not; Castle Rock). Franchise creator Kevin Williamson is onboard as an executive producer.

Scream scares its way into theaters on January 14, 2022.

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past. Neve Campbell (“Sidney Prescott”), Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) and David Arquette (“Dewey Riley”) return to their iconic roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.

@bobevanz

I would hate that reveal for any of the main 3.

@bobevanz - trust me - it might sound cool on paper but it would be lame.

Jack Quaid looks like the red herring. His poster screams "I'm the killer (lol but not really)."

@AmazingFILMporg - that’s the plot of Scream 3.

Wild Theories only:

It’s Dewey. The murders are to cover up the fact that he’s robbing his victims first in order to feed his raging coke habit.

Oh so Scream is a CBM? Got it.

@RokoVII - you’re a long way from home ol hoss, you’re thinkin o comicbookmovie.com, this here is carolburnettmemorabilia.com as evidenced by this article based on her true life story as a serial killer

@TheWalkingCuban - that’s absolutely ridiculous. Scream is clearly based off of Angela Lansbury’s true life story as a serial killer. The killer is even named “Ghostface”, that’s spot on Angela Lansbury. Lol

@WruceBayne - oh wow, a clear cut case of carolburnettememorabilia going off topic once again, and tying it to poor carol. to the surprise of no one!

@RokoVII - In short, CBM's stance on covering non-CBM stuff has loosened a lot over the years to cover general "nerd culture" stuff.

I get the feeling that Dewey is gonna bite the dust in this film. The shot of Sidney holding Gale back as she’s screaming with sirens in the background say it all.

I really hope I’m wrong since Dewey feels like the heart of this franchise at this point.

The dudes in the 3rd line understood the assignment better and are giving off great "I'm the killer" vibes.
I think 1 of the main trio is dying in this, Dewey is the easy pick, but my money's on Gale.

my crazy theory: The killer is the cop, she joined the force inspired by Dewey's work on the previous murders and wants to bring back that perceived badass Dewey that stopped serial killers in youth. So she dons the mask to do it herself and ropes one of the kids that was way too into the lore from the Stab movies and reading Sidney's book (and gives the Sidney encounter from the trailer) as her accomplice.

Sheriff’s son is the killer, calling it now.

I really hope the killers aren’t one of the “teens”. Not only are they too weak to be a formidable foe - most of them are too [frick]ing short lol. The problem with Jill and Charlie being the killers in Scream 4 is that Emma Roberts is 5’2 and Rory Is 5’6 and the killer was DEFINITELY taller than that. It was an interesting concept but you have to make it believable FFS
