@RegularPoochie - ya I def can’t agree based on this trailer partner, and the TSS trailers were BAD

@McMurdo - I liked TSS, but you still have a hard on with that, when this looks so much better

@RegularPoochie - I don’t think anything in this trailer gives me the impression that it will be as good as TSS. Listen I hope I’m wrong if this is better, I give you my word I’ll eat crow. But this trailer does not give me that impression. Second trailer, perhaps?

@McMurdo - fair comment my man. Also I eat the crow, if I'm wrong.

I keep getting triggered by these Moon Knight titles "insane trailer" and "craziest Disney+ series" and im like why? They aren't that impressive or over the top... why hype them by saying....

Then I realized you are using words reflective of the character... "insane" "crazy"... you're being clever. I get it now.
ElricReturns
ElricReturns - 1/18/2022, 2:16 PM
Also, this is gonna have stiff competition to out crazy what happened to Wanda and Westview. Moon Knight may rough up some bad guys, but until his cognitive dissassotiation enslaves a whole town, torturing, staving and mind [frick]ing children and families, subjecting them to nightmares every moment they aren't active.... Wanda broke reality around her to toxicity cope with her fractured mind... I get Moon Knight has mental health issues or whatever but is he more insane than WandaVision?

GhostDog - 1/18/2022, 2:38 PM
@ElricReturns - the most [frick]ed up thing MK has done is brand his enemies & carve off Bushman’s face and impaling him on a machine gun
(Disney ain’t going there)

The worst things he does psychologically are always to himself imo rather than to others. He pushes his friends away sure but his mental issues always hard himself more

@BlackBeltJones - hm, interesting. And this show doesn't need to out crazy anything, just needs to be really good. I'm never mad at fun Marvel content, but I'm starved for profound comic book content. That's why I have high hopes for The Batman, that looks like it has the potential to be high quality content... like candy for the brain and not just a fun way to kill 2 hours with super powers.

That's why I miss Dare Devil so much. The only Marvel property to really dive into bigger elements my brain could dissect, the conversation with Punisher alone is prime cut comic book content. WandaVision gave Liz and Paul so much great material to develop their characters admit the collateral damage of grieving, no other show has given more to a performance than Elizabeth Olsen was able to pull from Wanda, certainly not on Disney+.

So if Moon Knight let's Isaac sink his teeth into this role to the levels of WandaVision and Dare Devil, I'm all in.

@ElricReturns - I agree WandaVision has had the most depth when it came to more dynamic introspective content of all the shows. TFAWS a close second. They explored Wanda’s issues really well.

DD is my favorite comic book hero and the Netflix show was a near flawless representation of him and the wider profound elements that surround him. The conversation between him and the punisher obviously but also sensitively depicting Matt's anguished questions of how God can be good in the midst of a hard and broken world.

@ElricReturns - It's Disney. How "dark and gritty" do we really think they'll go?

@ElricReturns - Wanda? Yes, stiff. Haha. Definitely stiff.

@Battabingg - well they crossed the line and put sex and gay marriage on film. What makes you think they won't do dark and gritty?

It's pretty wild to see Marvel really start to dig into the supernatural side of things like they're doing with this, Blade, Werewolf by Night and Black Knight. They've been firmly planted in sci fi and to a lesser degree the fantasy genre, but this particular pocket hasn't gotten nearly as much love. Definitely some fertile ground they could build a few franchises on

So die hard Moon Knight fans how do y’all feel bout the change to the suit being a power
GhostDog
GhostDog - 1/18/2022, 2:29 PM
@McMurdo - die hard here

Idk if I see so much as a power as it being more of Khonshu adorning him but I get why it’s viewed as a power. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it. I am a a bigger fan of him building his own suit a as a tribute to Khonshu. The visual of the wraps enveloping him is cool idea and differentiates him from Batman for example.

Corruptor
Corruptor - 1/18/2022, 7:47 PM
@McMurdo - Not great, as it's so unnecessary. But that's less important overall than making too many changes to his different personalties (they were almost more just disguises initially as I recall in the very early stories).
Unless of course it turns it he is the only one who can "see" the costume, because he's so grounded.
