Moon Knight star Gaspard Ulliel has sadly passed away aged 37 following a serious ski accident. It was reported earlier today that the actor had been transported by helicopter on Tuesday following an accident in the Alps involving some sort of collision on the slopes in the Savoie region.

Ulliel's family and agents have confirmed that he passed away due to those injuries, news that comes shortly after he was said to be in serious condition with a skull injury.

The César award-winning actor is known for roles in Twice Upon a Time, Hannibal Rising, and It’s Only The End Of The World among others. He's also the face of the Chanel fragrance Bleu de Chanel. While there had been speculation he might be playing Frenchie in Moon Knight, it's since been reported that he was actually cast as the villainous Midnight Man.

Deadline notes that "Mountain police have been responding to multiple accidents in the region due to hard snow and ice on the slopes." On Saturday, a 5-year-old girl died after a skier crashed into her in the same region in an unrelated incident.

Needless to say, our thoughts go out to Gaspard's friends and family. The actor wasn't featured in this week's Moon Knight trailer, but there's a lot of excitement among fans to see what he brings to the table as Midnight Man. However, the French film More Than Ever is likely to be the final time we see him on screen.

Damn. I wrote a fan script for a Raimi Spider-Man 4 back on the IMDb boards several years ago, and this guy was my Cletus Kasasy. This guy was fantastic in Hannibal Rising. RIP.

That’s shitty. Can’t imagine the pain and suffering his family and friends are going through. My thoughts are with them and I hope they eventually find peace and comfort in fondly enjoying the memories they had with him. Gone way too soon.

Incredibly tragic. I remember watching Hannibal Rising during a Hannibal Lecter marathon, and while I didn't like the movie, I thought he was so creepy. A true testament to his skill. May he Rest In Peace, and I wish his family the best during this terrible time.

A 5 year old girl lost her life and all you guys care about is some actor. Stop praising celebrities

@warmachinerocks - I don’t know why this comment bothered me so much but first of all half the people on this thread have acknowledged the young girls death and have expressed sympathy. Also I’m assuming most people only read the title of the article which only mentions the French actor. So stop virtue signaling because you’re not making yourself look any better or making anyone feel any worse.

I always remember watching those Chanel ads wondering if he did more than modelling, as he just seemed so handsome yet have this tense presence to him that would've worked great onscreen; it's such a shame he was taken from us so young R.I.P
