Netflix's The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will end with season four, but producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has shared plans for the scrapped season five which will now be adapted into a comic book series.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is ending on Netflix after four seasons. While the show took a slight dip in quality after a stellar first season, the news was still met with a great deal of disappointment from fans, but there is now some good news.

Writer, director, and producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa recently took to Twitter to comment on the cancellation news, and revealed that the plan for "Part 4" was to adapt the "Witch War" storyline from the comic books. As you can see in the teaser image, Sabrina is pictured alongside Harvey Kinkle, Nicolas Scratch, Theo Putnam and Roz Walker, while Riverdale characters Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Veronica Lodge, Betty Cooper, and Cheryl Blossom can all be seen above.

Before you start getting too upset about what we missed out on, though, Aguirre-Sacasa went on to promise that the story is "[t]o be continued in the pages of [Chilling Adventures of Sabrina] comic book." In other words, it sounds like the plan isn't for the series to find a new home, but continue in the form of a comic book series (similar to what happened with Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

However, it's also possible that he's referring to the original Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series which lasted for only eight issues and ended in 2017.

We'll have to wait and see, but you can check out Aguirre-Sacasa's comments below:

So the show based on a comic book is gonna have a continuation in comic book form. Sure. That's not dumb at all.

I mean, the show was already dumb from season 1 on, especially when the writing of Sabrina's character was concerned.

@Origame - What about it??? it's still dumb, as the actual Smallville show was. Every comic book follow-up reminds me of the same boring MCU tie-ins gimmick Marvel did during Phase 1.

@dracula - Yeah, all that comic follow-up gimmick is pretty dumb, mainly because most of the times no one on the show is actually gonna be involved in the comic's production.

What could help in this case is that Sabrina's showrunner is the actual writer of the source material the show is based on, which can give credence to this follow-up, but the show was always pretty dumb, so this follow-up is gonna be redundant.

@Nightwing1015 - I mean, it had A LOT of things that pissed me off as a supposed Superman adapt. Not even arguing that it helped codify and make possible a lot of modern comic book TV show can dissuade of how trashy and mediocre it actually was.

@NewAtrocitus3 - It had much better characters than the vast majority of comic book TV shows. Not saying it wasn't flawed but seasons 1-3 were really some of the best of the genre.

@Nightwing1015 - Sure, credit where credit is due, I guess, but I don't have fond memories of that show overall, and the lack of commitment to the character from Tom Welling compared to Stephen Amell being fond of Green Arrow was one of the things it maed me hate the show even more.

I thought this show had decent viewership. They should conclude the story in the show though imo.

I enjoyed this show right up until season 3, then I just got very bored. I got up to about episode 3 then couldn't watch anymore, it felt like a chore.
It's a real shame because the show had some great episodes and potential.

Hmm not such a big fan of that if that is the case. The CAOS characters and storylines > Riverdale's.

But maybe the comic Archie-verse characters would make this far more better.

CAOS still didn't deserve to be canceled. :(

Just continue the original comic-book! The comic is really great, was left on a cliffhanger & the series only similarity is the set-up. Even the tone of the comic is more satanic and creepy.

Never watched this show but I never like it when things are canceled and plot lines are unresolved, so hopefully this will be good for fans of this show.
