Mark Ruffalo Talks Possibly Returning As 'The Hulk' In CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
It's been rumored that Captain America: Civil War will have a Hulk, albeit with a different identity, but Mark Ruffalo has finally discussed whether or not his Green Goliath will be showing up. Check it out!

In addition to William Hurt's unexpected return as General Thaddeus Ross, it was a cryptic tweet by Mark Ruffalo last month that has fueled speculation that the Avengers star will be Hulking out amid the superhero battle in Captain America: Civil War. There has since been rumors that a different Hulk will be making an appearance given Age of Ultron left Bruce Banner's current whereabouts up in the air (literally), but Ruffalo finally addressed the possibility while promoting his latest indie film.
“I don’t know! I heard a rumor about that the other day,” said Mark Ruffalo when The Daily Beast asked flat-out if his Jade Giant will return in Captain America: Civil War. “I haven’t seen a script, nobody’s told me, and I don’t have dates. But I can only hope so! I was talking to Robert Downey the other day, and he said, ‘Ruffalo! I heard you’re coming out here,’ and I said, ‘OK! I’ll be there,’” If anyone can get Mark Ruffalo in Civil War, it's Robert Downey Jr. However, it's hard to imagine there being enough room for the Incredible Hulk to return in the 2016 Marvel threequel.
Anyhow, Mark Ruffalo later talked about the joys of being a part of Marvel Studios and its global reach. “I like the challenge of it,” Mark Ruffalo explained. “I like the cultural significance of it, as an art project. It’s crossing into all kinds of cultures, and belief systems, and ideologies. It’s hitting a lot of boxes, and really specialized boxes, too. And ultimately, the messaging of it is pretty good! It has a decency about it. I always feel like this is our modern mythology, in a way. We’ve been doing this since the time we could draw on cave walls. This is our version of it now, but we’re still working out the same stuff—violence, brotherhood, and more.” What do you think?
Directed by Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman, Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6, 2016.
