We recently learned that The Marvels had wrapped production, and star Brie Larson has now taken to Twitter to share a first look at a new emblem for Nia DaCosta's MCU sequel.

The Academy Award-winning actress posted a photo of herself holding some sort of pendant featuring what appears to be an emblem made up of the logos associated with the movie's trio of heroes: Larson's Carol Danvers, Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan, and Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau.

It's a pretty cool design, and one we'll likely see adorning all manner of tie-in merchandise around this time next year.

Check out Larson's Tweet below, and click here if you want to see some recent set photos of Vellani in her new Ms. Marvel costume.

Plot details for the Captain Marvel sequel are still under wraps (you can check out a vague logline here), but British actress Zawe Ashton (Fresh Meat, Velvet Buzzsaw) is on board as the main villain, who is rumored to be a gender-swapped take on Kree warrior Ael-Dan. In addition, Samuel L. Jackson recently confirmed that he will appear as Nick Fury.

DaCosta will direct from a script by WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell. The Marvels is set to fly into theaters on February 17, 2023.

That’s pretty cool. I’m not too excited about marvel cosmic and never really have been even with guardians, but really interested to see what they do with this movie.

The first movie left a lot to be desired especially with the Kree/skrull stuff.

@JFerguson - Can't agree about the Kree/Skrull stuff. Are you perhaps wanting something from the comics that was left out or changed ?

@JFerguson - The first movie left me desirable more Kree/Skrull stuff. So, it worked for me, as I am now looking forward to seeing what happens next.

I hope you at least like the second one better. And maybe, one day, after you see the second one, watch the first one again and possibly appreciate it in a new light. This happens a lot; even with professional critics.

It can be really hard for our minds to properly process all of that new information the first time we see it, as it wants to compare it with our hopes, expectations, the "comic books", and several etc.s., and too many people don't understand this very well.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies without being aware of it.

@JDL - yeah seeing the inner working of Hala and how the supreme intelligence literally runs the whole show. Was a bit unclear

@LSHF - it’s possible. I know that happened with AOU for some people. But IMO it’s still a very weak film

@JFerguson - Seemed reasonably clear to me. Was that a change ?

@JDL - I mean how about if they had better prosthetics/design since it looked like shit? What if they gave them better dialogue? Talos sucks and that’s a shame cause Ben Mendelsohn is a great actor.

@JFerguson - It looks like the second will have a different director and different writers, so maybe that will help.

@TheLobster - Can't say as I agree but then like 98% of the audience I had nothing in the way of expectations. It sounds to me like you wanted different looks, different behavior, and different words. While the he first two are imo based on your expectations it appears to me, the last sounds like a different animal. What was the problem with the dialogue ?

Is this movie in anybody's top 10 anticipated upcoming movies list?

Side Note: This is a real question, no sarcasm.

More excited for more Monica than anything for this one. Her character was so likable in WandaVision.

First may be my least favorite MCU film, but it had a good cast and a lot of potential so I’m glad their trying a new direction with a new creative team.

Did not like that Captian Marvel and the rest of the girls got a "face shot" in End Game...it was not earned...They basically, took a ten year plan and "mucked it up" for PR purposes. I'm all for a good story; no matter the characters gender, beliefs, color, religion...but. if the "glove don't fit"...well, some of you may understand that. It doesn't work.

@Wolverine43X - Fitting that you use a famously bull**** legal argument as the comparison for your own nonsense here.

@SerKurtWagner - yes, you are right...very bad analogy...however, I said that bc everyone in media wants to be about race or gender or sexual preferences...why??? Sigourney Weaver was the lead in the 1980s during Alien and Aliens...Point being, people have been racist and [frick]ed up and abused different genders and different ideology through out the dawn of time. But we live in a culture where people are taking blame and pointing fingers...when all they need to do is look in the mirror...and be honest with themselves...shit, people were outraged when "baby yoda" Grogu ate a fictional egg and ended a fictional people that don't exist in a fictional word created by a man whose soul purpose was to entertain and make money. All I'm saying is, can I watch a movie. Sports. Show. Without a political agenda...again...I am rambling, but when can people just be people again?

@Wolverine43X - yeah fitting none of those female characters had any depth but they stuck them in for ...what??? Yeah, legal argument was probably bad comparison, but I stand by my comment.

I’m a bigger fan of Plasma or Plantar Fasciitis or whatever the crap the black girl’s name’s Gon be from Wandavision, than I am of Captain Marvel, but I only liked her acting in hypno-mode, not once she caught on. Seemed too… bug eyed surprised the whole time. Still better than Brie on CM. You can tell Endgame and Shang Chi aimed to change that tho so here’s hoping. No opinion on the as yet not seen Ms Marvel, but since I really like Kate Bishop, I’m hopeful she’s good too, along with She-Hulk and Moon Knight.
