@BlackBeltJones - This is not new. Josh is just repeating a leak that's... a month old by now?

@Unites - yea this leak has been out for some time

@Unites - Yeah, word is this movie is getting two months of rewrites and reshoots. One of the problems in the test screening was that audiences hated how "evil" Wanda was. It's expected that she'll be toned down.

This introduction of variants is pretty damn lazy

@abd00bie - I agree but I also love that it opens up some pretty crazy story telling like what is outlined in the article.

So Wanda just wins-ish and then the movie just ends Loki style? Hopefully the journey to get there is good enough to make it work.

With the Multiverse I can see them bring back fallen avengers.

I’m starting to miss pre-Endgame Marvel with each new entry in the MCU. All this multiverse variant stuff is cool, and hopefully we see Toby and Andrew return, but it feels like it might muddle up things

Well that sounds like an absolute mess, I can only wait for the time this is proven false and we can pretend it never happened.

Agatha's still laughing at Wanda somewhere somehow I'm sure.

It’s honestly starting to sound like the MCU realized that having one interconnected universe put somewhat of a stranglehold on their storytelling and needed a way to have more freedom, enter variants and the Multiverse.

@Cbmfilmjunkie - yeah seems like they are using it in this phase to allow a lot of new characters to enter the fray when it otherwise wouldnt have made sense.

I don't know how credible the leak is, but if it's true, I can see why Derrickson and Cargill didn't return. It basically blows off what's setup in the first movie, in favor of doing WandaVision 2.

I typically hate multiverse and alternate dimension type of stuff, but I like it for these movies. Its a great way to be able to recast characters and whatnot going forward. That said, the MCU is really starting to feel like its getting watered down and my excitement for each new movie will never reach pre-endgame levels. I think I am very close to the point of no longer feeling like everything they make is mandatory viewing.

It would be great to see an alternate X-Men led by Cerebro (Charles Xavier). He has the ability to open portals of the multiverse. When the multiverse collapses, they can escape their universe.

Making America Chavez a focal point would be stupid. We already have so many magic characters in that corner of the universe. Do we really need another captain America?

Yeah I'm not sold on this at all. Just like with the Spider-Man villains, I'm just not a fan of them introducing variants of characters we've seen in previous movies.

To me it would make a far greater impact if we've seen those characters that are native to the MCU first. Now once the characters (like Xavier or Ock) are introduced in the MCU, they just end up feeling like copycats since MCU characters already interacted with other versions of them.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 11/10/2021, 5:17 PM
Gotta say though, I don't Wanda as the villain. Just think it's kinda vile to put her again through such trauma again so shortly after WandaVision.
JFerguson
JFerguson - 11/10/2021, 10:15 PM
@bkmeijer - I agree. No one is really asking for p stew back as Proffessor X. Sometimes it’s better to just keep things within the confines of the main universe instead of extending out to variant universes. I’d like to see the multiverse but not take too many characters from those universes in our main universe.

Feels really weird if we transition towards that
