THE FANTASTIC FOUR To Have 'Found-Footage Feel' Says Fox Production President

A lot of fans have been very skeptical about Josh Trank's up coming reboot of the Fantastic Four. Talking to the Hollywood Reporter, Fox's President of Productions Emma Watts revealed  what we can expect from the film, "We're making a big bet for 2015 with The Fantastic Four and director Josh Trank," said Emma, "To me, the key is the originality of the filmmakers and the choices they make. Josh is another really interesting example, who is using the vision he gave us in Chronicle to reinvent a franchise he's loved his whole life. It's not that you can't make original ideas -- you can, and we did it with Chronicle. The director is the key to not letting superhero movies go stale. That's the truth." On whether or not the film will have a similar found footage style that Chronicle had, Watts revealed,"It's Josh, so it can't not have that feel. That's his talent, that's what he does, and that's what excites him about it. It is a really interesting young cast, and he is the magnet that's brought them all together." So does this more or less confirm that the movie will be found footage? It's a very interesting approach that will certainly distinguish the film from the current trend of superhero films we've been getting lately. Do you guys like this idea?

 The inevitable question of Bryan Singer's allegations was brought up, focusing on the director's decision to withdraw from the publicity tour for the film. Emma commented, "It was really tough for him. Luckily, we had 18 mutants to get out there and sell the movie. But I think he did what had to be done."  Because of the allegations and rumours about Singer not returning , a lot of people are questioning if the director will return for X-Men: Apocalypse. Well Emma had to say this on the matter, "Right now we are totally at the outlining phase. But nothing would make me happier than if it all worked out. It's always been the intention for him to do it." While this certainly doesn't out right answer the obvious question, she does seem confident that Singer will be back for Apocalypse.  What do you guys think? Are you looking forward to both Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot and the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse? Leave your thoughts down below.

Is she saying that Fantastic Four will be found footage style? I mean, I'm really excited for FF, but that's a but off putting.

If they want to cross over the Fantatic Four with the X-Men the easiest way to do it is have the F4 team go into another demension where mutants are the main species with these special abilities. There's ways that they can combine the two franchises (science fiction wise) I wouldn't rule it out. Just as Kinberg has said, anythings possible.

2015 is a big year. I'm curious to see if F4 can hang with the big boys.

Oh God, please don't let FF have the found footage style. Worked well for "Chronicle," but we don't need it for this one.

The movies from 2005 & 2007 are still too terrible to think about. Haven't seen Chronicle yet, but I hear almost nothing but good things. Hope this guy launches the franchise to where it should be.

What if the soft reboot establishes that mutants aren't the only 'heroes' in the Foxverse? I mean we're going back to the 70s/80s and since the Fantastic Four is taking place in contemporary times. So there's a big gap between the two eras, also the Fantastic Four are created by mistake. So maybe, just maybe these two comic properties are connected.

I need to watch other Trank films to see if he can pull this off.

And Singer will most certainly be back. The guy just gave you all the most critically and financially received X-Men film thus far.

I sure am

I sure hope Singer is back, and these words make me even more optimistic! I was skeptical at first, but DOFP blew me away

@DeusEx

Very good theory, it just puzzles me when Kinberg (paraphrasing) said that the Fantastic Four wouldn't be any different from the mutants if they were both within the same universe. So it wouldn make them all that "fantastic" <---to me I would say that their explorations do indeed make them fantastic. But I can sort I understand his claims towards how establishing this share universe would be a bit shaky.

@SkeemAn

Lol! Well, I wouldn't say that I'm not ready but I would at LEAST let Singer finish with what he started in DOFP and conclude his run with the X-Films with Apocalypse. Singer already had plans for "X4 and X5" after The Last Stand was over so to me DOFP was X4 and Apocalypse is basically X5 (especially with hearing some original at members will appear in the film as well) so yeah I say have Singer finish his run with Apocalypse THEN have a new director come in and direct a modern day run of films.

If mutants and F4 are in the same universe. The scientific aspect of them should be extremely showcased. They need to prove that these 4 characters are extremely smart or very good in their area of expertise.

Really excited for F4.
Trank was hired for a Star Wars spin-off, people must already be liking what he's doing with F4 or else I'm sure he wouldn't get the gig.

Since we are not getting x films with the original cast, can we get some generation x. I know we had the TV movie, but you know what I mean. Change up the teachers, use beast so we can get more Kelsey grammer.

My problem with Singer is he's always focused on 1 or 2 specific actors. I felt that Vaughn had better dialogue between many different characters.
