RUMOR: Benedict Cumberbatch Joins The Cast Of STAR WARS EPISODE VII
Will Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams and Benedict "Khan" Cumberbatch be reunited for Star Wars Episode VII? Well, with an official announcement said to be on the way, one site believes that the British actor is the first major casting addition to the movie. Check it out!
While Benedict Cumberbatch has said numerous times that he would like a role in Disney's new Star Wars trilogy, his involvement with the J.J. Abrams helmed Episode VII has been little more than fan speculation up until this point. Well, we've been hearing word of a major casting announcement being on the way all week, and now Film Chronicles believe they know who that is. "There’s a lot of gossip swirling around that Lucasfilm are about to make a big casting announcement regarding Star Wars VII, and that casting announcement appears to be none-other than Benedict Cumberbatch, most recently seen in director JJ Abrams’ previous movie, ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’." While they don't name any sort of source, the site definitely seem confident that the Sherlock star is in the movie. After all, he did mysteriously drop out of Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak recently. However, the timing of the report - the same day as Star Trek Into Darkness is released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK - seems a little coincidental, so take it with a pinch of salt for the time being! What do you guys think? Sound off below!
