Paramount has debuted a new featurette for the fifth instalment in the Scream franchise (simply titled "Scream"), and it spotlights interviews with several main cast members along with some footage of Ghostface stalking a new generation of victims.

There's been a lot of debate about the identity of this latest incarnation of the masked killer, with some speculating that it might even turn out to be one of our central protagonists this time. Could Dewey Riley (David Arquette) or Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) really betray Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) after everything they've been through together? Is it possible Sid herself finally snaps and dons the visage that's plagued her for most of her life? At the end of the day, "it's always someone you know."

Check out the featurette below along with Total Film's newsstand and subscribers only covers.

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past. Neve Campbell (“Sidney Prescott”), Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) and David Arquette (“Dewey Riley”) return to their iconic roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.

Paramount Pictures teamed with Spyglass Media to co-produce and distribute Scream, which has Ready or Not duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett on board to direct. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are co-writing the screenplay. Producers for the film are Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein and William Sherak, with Kevin Williamson executive producing.

Scream slices its way into theaters next January.

Legit awesome to see Ghostface back.

Seriously believe the outfit and concept is just so damn iconic - right up there with Michael and Freddy.

The best part is it can be anyone and the concept is always different around it. Even when Neve and them are long gone the concept can and will always endure.

Hyped.

Not sure why my comment was deleted (I didn't get a chance to see what the responses were so maybe it devolved?) but given it can be removed "for any reason" I guess I won't know.

So I'll just say I'm happy to see Scream's return and with so many returning cast from the original. I just hope they aren't all killed off.

From the looks of it, the killer isn't after Sidney, rather trying to get revenge for her by going after relatives of previous killers.
