One of the concept artists who worked on Spider-Man: No Way Home has shared their take on what Tom Holland might look like as Black Suit Spider-Man, and it's fair to say this is Peter Parker's colour...

Peter Parker never did cross paths with Eddie Brock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but [SPOILER] the movie's mid-credits scene did feature the Daily Bugle reporter leaving a piece of Venom behind in the MCU. Now, fans are hopeful that Spidey will don his black suit from the comic books, but what exactly will that end up looking like?

One of the concept artists who worked on the threequel, Thomas du Crest, has shared his (unofficial) take on Holland's black-suit Spider-Man, and the results are undeniably exciting.

Black is definitely Tom Holland's colour, and the alien costume seems to suit this iteration of Spider-Man. The classic logo on his chest is welcomed, as are other little touches like the eyes and "web-shooters." Overall, it looks like a piece of imagery pulled straight from the comic books, and that's definitely the direction Marvel Studios should head in if they choose to use this outfit.

However, we'd probably ditch the white veins running across the web-slinger's body; while they work on Venom to give him some definition due to that lack of spider logo on his chest, they just feel superfluous here...and make Spidey look a little too 'roided out for our liking!

This is still a great indication of what Symbiote Spider-Man could look like in the MCU, and the hope among fans is that Tom Hardy will either play a Variant of Eddie or Mac Gargan will don the alien suit after crossing paths with Peter as the Scorpion. Spidey's future beyond No Way Home is undeniably intriguing, but only time will tell whether the alien costume will be part of it...

Could've made him a little bulkier, but other than that it looks pretty good. It even has the patches on the hands

@bkmeijer - in fairness that's more on Holland than anything. He's ripped but lean. And the black suit isn't supposed to add bulk to spiderman.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 1/5/2022, 8:42 AM
@Origame - that is true, but given it does also for Hardy's Brock (which this suit seems to take inspiration from) I think it would be suitable here too. Just not as bulky as that version though
Origame
Origame - 1/5/2022, 9:39 AM
@bkmeijer - I mean I can see that as justification for giving bulk if they wanted to, but I could also see the justification of keeping it slim. Mostly since Spiderman is meant to be agile so the symbiote is purposefully allowing a slim build to better accommodate his powers. Or to show who's in control, the symbiote or Peter.

bkmeijer2 - 1/5/2022, 9:48 AM
@Origame - oh yeah that could work. Saw others mention that the veins should only start appearing the more Peter loses control, and I guess that could also go for him going from slim to bulky

Too organic.should integrate with his Spidey suit and make it alim and solid just like the nano Spidey suit did.

This is the perfect design ... In the final battle of the next movie, I want to see Spider-Man wearing the black suit.

bkmeijer2 - 1/5/2022, 8:44 AM
@Repian - given that the upcoming Spider-Man game also has Venom and Kraven in it, I think it would be better to wait until the fifth Spider-Man.

But if that happens, I certainly wanna see that happen too

Not as sleek as I'd like it, but shows promise. It's unlikely Sony will go with that though. Its not very 'kid friendly' to sell their toys. A bit too mature, like the Venom stuff.

Less organic and vainy looking may work.

@Waddles - Sorry, not Sony, I should have said Marvel Studios.

It will definitely work if we got Garfield's TASM against Hardy's Venom. I could see that working.

@UniqNo - I agree with you on the vainy bit. It made sense for Tom Hardys Venom as he didnt have the white spider emblem, so they needed white areas ln his torso. Toms Spidey wouldnt need that
Origame
Origame - 1/5/2022, 8:37 AM
@UniqNo - but the venom movie sold toys with the veins.
UniqNo
UniqNo - 1/5/2022, 8:41 AM
@Origame - True, but I'm sure parents will be less skeptical if it was sleeker looking.

@UniqNo - they did change costumes on taskmaster, mysterio, vaulter ,
Origame
Origame - 1/5/2022, 9:36 AM
@UniqNo - I mean I guess. But if they're buying the equivalent with veins and there's no controversy, I really don't see them doing it here. Especially with the mcu also selling shirtless Dave Bautista action figures.

@Origame - Venom and his sexy ass veins. Banned in 100+ countries.

I can dig it. The only thing that I would like to see is have the suit start off smooth/clean lines and as Pete's emotions and mind start to become darker and darker the suit morphs into this where the white veins start to appear and a mottled surface forms.

I wish they’d stop making it look veiny lol.
Like I get it but just give me like solid shiny or matte black that’s it, it’s easy no one will complain.

@azimiq - Peter: it's an alien fabric! This is fantastic!
The suit: haha yeah I'm fabric dude [veins pulsing and throbbing]

Peter already showed his dark side when he damn near split Goblin in two with that glider. Tom is a damn good actor, and I betcha he can play dark very well. He won't be strutting his stuff down the street, doing Disco dances. They won't play it for comedy.

They can really lean into the fact that Peter has no one. No one knows who he is. A man that lonely who has lost so much would definitely have some darkness.

@DarthOmega - You make him sound like fkn Batman.

But I totally get it, and I love this great direction.

DarkDetective - 1/5/2022, 11:41 AM
@DarthOmega - Isnt it part of Hardy's symbiote? Has it even been stablished that version turns their hosts evil or something?
UXASIS

I really like the paradox idea, that the mid-credits scene made.

Hardy's Venom came back to his universe, where he can fight (alongside Morbius and Kraven) against Garfield (who would fit nicely, alongside his new gf Black Cat).

But we still have the symbiote in the MCU which can bond either to Peter, or Flash (but I can't really see Flash becoming an Agent...).

OR Hardy's Brock is in the MCU universe too, and he can have a new twisted (yet different) take on the character.

Can you imagine Hardy playing in three series (TASM3, Venom 3 and MCU)? It sounds crazy, but it sounds quite interesting. If MCU Hardy would be somehow more crazy or mischevious. Sounds cool. At least to me.
UniqNo
UniqNo - 1/5/2022, 8:32 AM
@UXASIS - Yeah, I think they should use Garfield's Spider-Man to flesh out their live action Spiderman characters, and him and Hardy can steal some scenes together, which Sony can make 99% profit from.

And leave Tom's in the MCU. I don't think they will ever have 2 Symbiote suit spidermen at once though.

UXASIS
UXASIS - 1/5/2022, 8:41 AM
@UniqNo - I agree with the two symbiotes at the same time thing...

I wouldn't necessarily put the symbiote in Hollands SM4, it can come literally at any time.

Or even on a different hero/villain. It would be cool to see the symbiote traveling from person to person, and finally to Parker. You need to use the MCU as far as you can (but don't overkill it).

bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 1/5/2022, 8:47 AM
@UXASIS - I wouldn't mind it if they skip Eddie and Flash altogether in the MCU and go the Ultimate Spider-Man show route and make Harry Venom.

That way we get a new incarnation of Venom and of Harry Osborn, which would feel refreshing given that we had Eddie/Venom and Harry/Goblin both twice already
UXASIS
UXASIS - 1/5/2022, 10:01 AM
@bkmeijer - Harry as Venom sounds interesting.

Thank God they didn't make Ned Hobgoblin.

Making him create portals (which took Strange ages of training) was stupid enough.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 1/5/2022, 10:14 AM
@UXASIS - that would've been to soon indeed, but I could see it happen eventually. First I want Kingpin, Black Cat, Kraven, Venom and Ock though
UXASIS
UXASIS - 1/5/2022, 10:35 AM
@bkmeijer - I'm not sure if Donofrio's Kingpin would be a danger to Peter, at least not physically (but he is a really good mastermind, so maybe yeah).

Kraven is a must-be, even tho we'll first get Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Anyway him meeting A Parker (He could be opposed to Garfield too) is an obligation.

On the other hand, I don't think we need another Ock. We had him as the best villain in SM2. And here he was also one of the best (eventho not much a villain). Even Kathryn Hahn played a version in Into the Spider-Verse.

I'd like to see Scorpion, Morlun, Spider-Slayers, maybe even Kindred (who could be Harry too).
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 1/5/2022, 10:59 AM
@UXASIS - yeah I get that. I'm kinda mixed on a new Ock. It's similar with a new Norman.

Peter has had this interactions with these variant characters that could heavily influence how he would interact with MCU versions. Think it would be a waste not to explore that.

On the other hand though, I also wanna see new villains. Luckily we'll also get the animated show, so there is enough room to explore.
UXASIS
UXASIS - 1/5/2022, 11:02 AM
@bkmeijer - I totally agree.
MeAreLegend
MeAreLegend - 1/5/2022, 8:29 AM
Love how they used the big spider logo from the comics. While it looked good, I always thought that Spider-Man 3s Black suit was very lazy. It was just a black version of the classic suit with no real variation in design apart from that.
UniqNo
UniqNo - 1/5/2022, 8:35 AM
@MeAreLegend - Yeah, though when you go back and watch that Movie, I think they wanted to better differentiate the difference between him and Venom. He would have looked too similar as he wasn't the Bulky Venom we know.

But hey, we all know how much Raimi disliked the character. So I'm sure its was Arads fault. 😅
KWilly
KWilly - 1/5/2022, 8:29 AM
OK hear me out... If u introduce Black Cat in the next movie, AND have the symbiote suit... You could really do a story on two different forces trying to force Peter into the dark side.

You got Tom Hardy's Venom whispering in one ear, and Black Cat in the other. I think that'd make an excellent conflict in the movie.
