First Look At LEGENDS OF TOMORROW's New Vixen
Check out the first look at Mari McCabe's forerunner, Amaya Jiwe, the Vixen from the 1940s. She's McCabe's grandmother and will be the previous holder of the Tantu Totem in Legends of Tomorrow season 2.
Legends of Tomorrow showrunners originally wanted Mari McCabe (Megalyn E.K.) for the show's sophomore season but scheduling conflicts prevented E.K. from reprising the role.
So what was the solution? A storyline wa developed to introduce McCabe's gradnmorther Amaya Jiwe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), a Justice Society of America member and previous wielder of the Tantu Totem - the mystical artifact that allows its holder to tap into the abilities of any animal.
Though she couldn't commit to a full-blown supporting role, Megalyn did state that she'll be returning to voice season 2 of the CW seed animated Vixen series and didn't rule out a guest spot on LoT. Given the time travel angle of the show, what are the odds McCabe and a young-Jiwe meet?

After the defeat of the immortal villain Vandal Savage and the corrupt Time Masters who colluded with him, a new threat emerges. Dr. Nate Heywood (Nick Zano), an unconventional and charming historian, is thrust into the action upon making a shocking discovery – the Legends are scattered throughout time. Nate must find a way to rescue season one’s beloved team of heroes and rogues. Once reunited, the Legends continue their new mission to protect the timeline from temporal aberrations – unusual changes to history that spawn potentially catastrophic consequences.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The ATOM, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Victor Garber and Franz Drameh as Professor Martin Stein & Jefferson “Jax” Jackson/Firestorm, and Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave. The series will also feature Matthew MacCaull in the role of Commander Steel, Sarah Grey as Stargirl, and the not-yet-cast characters of Obsidian and Dr. Mid-Nite as the Justice Society of America. In addition, the “big bad” for the series will be the show’s own version of the Legion of Doom, featuring Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), the Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) as its members.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer, Chris Fedak and Sarah Schechter. Season two will premiere on October 13 on The CW.

It's the end of an era for another CW show. Riverdale, a live-action adaptation of Archie Comics' most popular characters, will be going off the air after its seventh season.
On the heels of Batwoman's cancellation, DC's Legends of Tomorrow has also been axed by The CW, which is a shocking development considering the seventh season's massive cliffhanger ending.
The CW has yet to make a decision about four of its DC TV shows, and a new report suggests that half of them could be facing the axe. That doesn't bode well for Batwoman or the popular Legends of Tomorrow.
Scrubs alum Zach Braff has said he would be open to playing Ted Kord, a.k.a. Blue Beetle, in Legends of Tomorrow following the reveal that his best friend, Donald Faison, has been cast as Booster Gold.
Tonight's action-packed Legends of Tomorrow finale bid farewell to a longtime crew member while also introducing Scrubs star Donald Faison as a popular DC hero before ending on a major cliffhanger!
