Confirming a recent rumor, Marvel has officially announced that the upcoming third season of Runaways will feature an appearance from Cloak and Dagger stars Olivia Holt (Tandy) and Aubrey Joseph (Tyrone).

A potential crossover between Cloak and Dagger and Runaways has been teased for years, and Marvel has now confirmed that an episode featuring both groups of heroes is set for the upcoming third season of the latter.

The casts of both shows announced the news this morning via the following Twitter video.


We still don't know how Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy (Olivia Holt) will cross paths with the other super-powered teens, but since Cloak and Dagger have now left New Orleans to ply their trade in other parts of the country, it’s assumed they'll be recruited by the Runaways when they reach LA in an effort to rescue their captured friends.

All 10 episodes of Marvel’s Runaways season 3 will premiere Dec. 13 on Hulu.

That sounds fun, but I still gotta catch up on both shows (since I only saw Runways S1). This also makes me wonder if Ghost Rider is gonna cross-over with these guys

There were rumors of it for a long while so it's nice to have it confirmed.

It'll be then just like the Heroes for Hire episode on Luke Cage S2 when Danny showed up to help him destroy Bushmaster's magical plant. Even if it is just for one episode it'll be fun to see the teams interact.

This is what I always expected at least to see with the Agents of SHIELD characters with any of the their other TV peers, even featuring one of the supportive ones from those.

Hopefully this means that Cloak and Dagger's 3rd Season renewal announcement soon, they deserve it. Specially because IIRC the showrunner said that he has like a 5-Seasons plan and I would like to see that vision get fulfilled.

Time to catch up with Runaways with that said.

I suppose Cloak and Dagger will mold into the tone the Runaways' show has considering the former's are a bit more mature and nuanced. It'll be interesting how that is handled.

I've never seen either. 2 questions, 1..are they any good? 2..any big named characters appear in either?

@JohnnyStorm - Both are pretty good, but a bit divisive around here. Can be slow to some people. Biggest characters to appear are the title ones. Some namedrops to Stark, Rand, Misty, and Luke Cage as well

Iran nice that Runaways will now firmly be in the tv universe. Aside from a Wakanda namedrop their hasn’t been much of anything.
Cloak and Dagger already made like 4 firm connections to the Netflix shows and a few to AOS/Agent Carter, so even if they’re not all the main MCU anymore it’s still nice to see that they all exist in omen version of it

I thought Runaways started off well, but by the time the season 1 finale rolled around I was thoroughly uninterested. Got two episodes into Cloak and Dagger. Well made, just not my cuppa tea.

Great news. Good to see the TV side of the MCU actually connecting to another property for once. Maybe Agents of Shield could join the mix in it's final season?

@TheRationalNerd - Even they get cancelled they are still connected, i mean DC cancelled Constantine, but the same iteration of the character still shows up in other DC series.

And unlike Netflix there is no clause that stops Marvel from using the characters elsewhere for x amount of years in case they get canned, especially since Hulu and Freefrom are owned by Disney.
